Default I think it's time for NATO to disband

After hearing about the Libya air strikes being "handed-off" to "NATO", I'm wondering... who is in control?

The American people were in favor of a no-fly zone. They are not in favor of involvement in a civil war. I'm getting the sense though, that Obama sees the U.S. as basically beholden to these multi-state organizations, rather than a player who cooperates when it has an interest to defend and stays out when it doesn't.

The cold war is over. NATO has nothing to fear really from Russia or anybody else... the EU is strong in its own right and can contain Russia. Why should the U.S. be involved?

NATO is preparing for the new global cold war with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. It is encircling the nations in this power block with military bases as we speak.

The reasons: trivial and pointless, purely human ones. Power doesn't like to be challenged. Where inter-governmental power agglomerates are concerned, "there can be only one".

    If so, it's insane.
