Just saw this movie tonight, and John and Jane struck me as Identicals...probably ESTp...?

One of my favorite movies of all time - my wife and I both love it.

I think John/Pitt is ENTj and Jane/Jolie is ISFj, a duality couple. I think those are probably their types in real life as well.

Jolie's character was highly organized and focused, liked to come up with a plan and not deviate from it. Deviations from a plan drove her crazy like when he's in the sewer and she's trying to guide him. "you're always the first to break plan" she screamed. I think that's typical of an xSI type and not an SLE. John I could see as an SLE, but I got a very LIE vibe from him. Plus their on screen chemistry was great, off screen too apparently. Something is "working" there.

I like the idea of their being Duals. But, I would have picked Jane as the Thinker...idk. I acutally missed the first, ten-fifteen minutes or so of the movie, so maybe I'm missing something... I originally thought maybe Identicals, since they seem to have so much in common, and were able to move so well in-sync (though that could just be for the sake of cinematography); and also, over time don't Identicals start to take on more Duality roles?

What makes you think they're identicals?

There's the part where they've kidnapped that kid (intelligence agency target, aka "the tank" or whatever he was called). He's dicking around with them and John is explaining how he's going to torture him, what exactly he's going to do and how each step is going to be progressively more painful and that he might want to cooperate (Te and Ni maybe). Then Jane just yanks the phone from the wall and smacks the shit out of him and he starts stalking. Clearly different mentalities... LOL. Jane's reaction was not unlike my wife's "you have wronged me now you must die" Fi/Se ISFj type of reaction when she gets pissed off at something/someone. John's was the more cautious "I'm not quite sure when exactly I'd be morally justified in beating the shit out of you so here's how it's going to go - cooperate whenever you're ready" type of reaction. My wife identifies very strongly with Jane's character, and my reaction would have been much more similar to John's.

Them moving together well is just cinematography yeah.
