lol where did you find that assumption? I didn't assume gammas think alpha humor is offensive when I started this thread, but that seems to be the route everyone has taken. I think making an offensive joke is sort of a cop out, actually. If you have to be offensive to get a laugh, then you don't have a well developed sense of humor.

edit: that's not to say I don't make offensive jokes, I just don't default to them.

Take Bill Maher is ESE type. He takes religion, an object that exists outside of themselves, and he takes this object and express an emotional reaction to it and about it, finding words that express that emotional view of what religion causes in society. The categorize institutions (religion is one); religions are analogous to one another and makes no distinction one from the other not even Christian to Judaism because the Fe has leaned so far into Fe that the function that takes care of categorizing is disappeared into the background. The more he becomes an Fe, seeks to find more institutions that which he can use to express his emotions about, the more he finds things to validity his objective quest, completely disregarding the subjective factors, the introverted Ti is one that suffers or is compromised because of this action.

The feelings arise because of this institution RELIGION and a reflection of that objects in society and because he's an ESE, an Fe base, his feeling valuation returns back to society and not to his personal feelings or ethics about religion, otherwise he would at lease have some empathy for the individuals in that institution. A pope, to an Fe is and not just Pope John, it's THE pope; they tent to objectify the human and make or attribute no individual characteristics; he just takes THE pope and makes him even to a humans in general (as a group again outside of himself), or more specifically MEN another group, not Pope John, who doesn't favor abortion, but is warm towards other things, like food donation or something. He equates people to generalization; not Maritsa but AMERICANS; not Bob, but REPUBLICANS.

Being an extravert, he finds metaphors and symbols for real scenarios to bounce these observations off of them and not to himself.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

The ENTps weren't funny. The ESFj has a lousy vocabulary.

    The introverts were funny.

What about Brian Regan and Robin Williams? Know their types?

It is fun to create false conspiracy theories. Alex Jones must hire me.

IT crowd is essentially alpha vs gamma comedy series.

Rowan Atkinson's Mr Bean tries to be extremely . He must have spied lots of ILEs.

Important to note! People who share "indentical" socionics TIMs won't necessarily appear to be very similar, since they have have different backgrounds, experiences, capabilities, genetics, as well as different types in other typological systems (enneagram, instinctual variants, etc.) all of which also have a sway on compatibility and identification. Thus, Socionics type "identicals" won't necessarily be identical i.e. highly similar to each other, and not all people of "dual" types will seem interesting, attractive and appealing to each other.

Can I comment on puns? Puns are so uncomfortable. When someone makes them mid-sentence and then keeps going that's fine, that's just a humorous aside, but sometimes people will reply to someone else with a pun. Like it's actually a funny joke! And then everyone there has to either laugh at the joke [which is awkward] or ignore it [which is awkward].

And, like, with other jokes you can sometimes build on each other.

Compare the rapport being built with:
"Your momma is so fat that..."
"Yeah? Well your momma is so fat that..."
    or
"Actually, Clowns said he wants to go to the loud bar."
"Haha, yeah, I just hate being able to hear you guys."
    vs

    "What's up?"
    "The sky."
    "Haha... yeah..."
    Warm Regards,

I like it when someone uses a pun, places emphasis on the pun, and then pauses with that suspense inducing face as they await laughter.

I enjoy thin & clever humor much more so than thick, vulgar humor.
To try to make a tangible contrast, SNL more recently (in the past few years or so) has appealed more to my sense of humor than SNL for decades previous to that. Seems the writers changed.

also, humor done with a straight face is much more effective than humor done with a lot of grimacing. Therefore, I haven't been a huge fan of Jim Carrey's acting, although I do like the guy. I like him better in roles where he doesn't grimace as much. America's Got Talent - Piff the Magic Dragon - an example of great humor done with a straight face. That style appeals much more to me.

edit: that's not to say I don't make offensive jokes, I just don't default to them.
I feel EXACTLY the same way.

Satire/parody mostly. I also enjoy over the top Ne zaniness if I am in the mood for it.

    I hate puns.
