are you a very technical person? do you like the details in your hobbies? for instance, if you like music, is it important for you to understand the conventions, and technical details of the music? are you keen to think about processes?

Yeah, most definitely.
Obsequium amicos, veritas odium parit
I tend to abhor details. That aside, I think I see technical knowledge as a means to an end rather than as an end in itself... If I need to know it then, suddenly, magically, I'm all of a sudden interested... because I'm even more interested in what that will enable so it's worth trudging through the muck to get there.
Technical details are such a Ti thing, something I usually don't bother with.
Depends on the thing. I enjoy some of the technical details of socionics and other personality theories as well as other academic endeavors. I'm interested in the technical details that go with my job as a librarian.
Not so much with music. I like to experience music on a more emotional level and analyzing all the technical details of a piece of music ruins that experience for me.
