I'm changing my mind about Minde's

I think that dolphin picking Jars of Clay was brilliant, but if I had to pick a Jars of Clay song that would be her theme, I'd either go with

    or

Holy shit. Music rules. I love music. Almost all music. My thoughts on music: I don't care what you listen to, because music is to people the same way experiences are personal. When something appeals to people, it's because of a reason. They identify with it on some level. Granted, because of this, it's possible to make judgement on CERTAIN people because of their taste, but not always. I just love music for what it is. Even artists I may not care for sometimes produce a jewel of a song. I can't in good conscience dismiss an entire genre. I'm not a music snob. I don't like others who criticize people based on what they listen to. Because, if they were true fans of music, they wouldn't care. They listen to what they listen to. It's as simple as that. I don't criticize people who draw in charcoal because I draw in pencil. They have a hobby they enjoy. More power to them. Same with music. Certain songs or artists I may genuinely dislike but that's my own taste. It's no reflection on anyone else's or who they are as a person.

    I the way you think!

One of my biggest pet peeves with people are those who think that just because they like something, it must be the absolute best and everyone else should like it to. Or the reverse where they dislike something, therefore it must be inherently awful, and nobody in their right mind should like it. If you like it, there is something wrong with you. I've seen this line thinking extend beyond music to movies, TV shows, books, restaurants, etc.

Are there certain types who are more prone to this sort of thinking? Are there certain types who are more likely to be annoyed by this type of thinking? Or is it even type related?

Wow lol dolphin... and I thought I overreacted to things. I never said I didn't like the band, song, whatever. I was just wondering why them, why that song? I LOVE all types of music as well and am not a pretentious idiot, so don't reply to what I said as if I were anything of the sort.

I said dear god why b/c although I have a soft spot for songs like that song, I wonder ... do I really come across as that sappy/emotional whatever? It was meant to be humorous... -__-

Oh ok. I thought you were mocking my choice.

It was more of the overall feeling of the song, and nothing specifically referential....I dunno. I've just always got the impression that your moods and things are kind of transient...circular. Rather as if they revolved around some central theme. You always seem to come back to the same place, imo. Like the times when you'd get in a car and something like that song is playing. And you'd slightly deflate mentally. That's how I picture you. I've been thinking lately that something edgier might be a better fit. I just don't know though. Edgy doesn't really fit into the impression I get of you. Watching your singing or videos or reading your posts, past the transitory bluntness, you don't really have bite. Yeah, at the end of the day, I probably think you're a sap. That's just my subjective impression, sorry if it's wrong.

switchfoot has a greater sonic palette than 80% of radio rock, however, they do sing about god and stuff sometimes.

that was awesome, i've heard a diff song by this band, keyboard solo ruled. whats with all the folks with videocameras, that would really bum me out if were there. 'hey this part is awesome and like every moment of my life, it must be documented.'

Unfortunately I cannot hear your guy's music because I do not currently have a sound drive on my computer. As for me, I do not know what song would sound like me. An Dolphin, you show courtesy in including those members.
