I am curious as to your thoughts on how you would type this over-arching type of humor based on its common qualities. An edited paraphrase:

Overall it seems Alpha, but not quite; so I guess it's Alpha NT in particular. It sounds like a description of Monty Python humor, or of MASH the movie and even of the early, Alpha phase of the sitcom.

That is my suspicion as well. It is from the Wikipedia article on British humour. I find this interesting because the integral type of British humour is then noticeably off-set by the integral type of the UK (usually LIE or LSE).

Well, I think that Gamma is accurate for the UK, not sure about LIE in particular.

But with regard to the apparent contradiction between the Alpha NT humor and the Gamma integral type. I don't find it so mysterious, since I very much appreciate that kind of humor myself. One of the things I most enjoy about the UK is the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which is very British and very Alpha NT. I think it may have to do with the common functional blocking. The Alpha humor despises blocked with and blocked with , which resonates well with Gamma.

Previous integral type. Beta may have been the existing power sphere to which Alpha and Gamma would both be critical towards, and although Alpha humor was being used, the integral type was evolving more towards a Gamma orientation.

I mentioned that in my Cultural and Institutional Quadras article in the wiki (which I will complete). I think Britain has been culturally Gamma since Elizabeth I's time, with some Beta hiccups. So it would be interesting to see whether the appreciation for that kind of humor goes as far back as that. Incidentally, it might.

Perhaps it does. In the Restoration - which was a Gamma revival, together with Alpha humor, after the Beta period of Oliver Cromwell - the atmosphere was such that a guy published the following poem about Charles II (quoting from memory):

We have a clever witty king
Whose word no one relies upon
He never said a foolish thing
Nor did he ever do a wise one

To which Charles II replied, "that's very true, for my words are my own, and my actions are my ministers'."

This makes me interested in charting the presence of quadras in a culture's history. If you were to take Britain for example and try and locate the role that the different quadras played within a changing era over time, I would imagine that it could possibly reveal a number of relevant patterns and trends.

I dont think that you can watch a video and tell "oh this is a XXXx joke" but I noticed that sensing types create different kind of jokes than intuitive types do. Though what kind of jokes they LIKE is another thing. The first video seems created by xNTx.
