Well I can agree with you about your club theory. I definitely seem to get along best with INTj and ENTp then STs on that superficial level. It's simply natural for me to spend time with those people. The only Alpha SF that I consciously recognized as such is my former roomie and there was that inexplicable bond you spoke of. I mean now that I think about it, we really had next to nothing in common, yet we clicked in a way that was so deep and meaningful that, even though our relationships is pretty much stale (ILI boyfriend came between us) I still can't quite let her go entirely and anytime I see her or talk to her for a time I feel that connection again. It's entirely intangible, but it really is like making up the other half of a whole. It just boils down to them taking care of those things that you value but have to work to provide for yourself.

Perhaps this can explain why a lot of people don't seem to click with their duals on the forum. Because duality is so much deeper than the outward context of interactions with others it makes it extremely difficult to create over something as impersonal as the internet. So instead people will tend towards their club or those that share their emphasis on either their perceiving or judging function depending on which they put more emphasis on. For instance I get the impression that an Ne-ILE like Riddy appears to get along better with other intuitives than he does with non-NT logicals. Whereas I tend to get along better with logicals more than other intuitives. This is all supposition, of course, but that's my general impression.

Eh, I tend to mix with kind of everyone. But the easiest definitely are ST's. Pretty easy to strike up a conversation with those bastards.

I think I agree. Like attracts like. I usually feel at ease with others who are "like me" because we have a common similar thread...

This makes a lot of sense, you explained it well.

I tried to address this in the club page of the wiki. Rick had misgivings.

Socionics intertype relationships are most relevant in voluntary, intensive, longer-term interactions, as in two people voluntarily living or working together on an equal basis. For more, yes, superficial interactions, as in sharing activities, I think clubs will be relevant, perhaps more so - at first.

It's for that reason that I think mirror couples are very common: you have the combination of quadra and club.

However, I don't think it works in the longer term. Try staying in a relationship with your quasi-identical that goes beyond sharing the same hobby. It won't work.

if i knew, do you think i would be here?!

in all seriousness, though, i think if each socionics club had a drink associated to it, NT's would be rubbing alcohol.

Untrue, that's a completely illogical product to consume. And who drinks rubbing alcohol anyways? Your conclusion is entirely based on illogical foundations!!11

Your argument would be better received if it was formatted into Te-speak.

And, no, I don't know what that means either.

Jessica, I think NF types don't make us stop and go "woah". I think for one reason or another, they just don't command immediate attention to us, like, for us they're easy to pass over?

That and NF's don't usually hang out at the spots i'm at. I think that's another big factor.

Of course, it may be different if you grew up around people of your own quadra, but otherwise, I think you tend to gravitate towards those of your own club, or at the very least of your own method of judging (ethics/logic). The most frequent pairing I've seen is couples who are both ethical/logical. NF with NF, NF with SF, etc. It seems that shared values often are key, and shared judging method seems to often aid this.

In my life, I think most of my close friends or those I am most attracted to for friendship have been NF--delta and beta. Second to that is probably SF.

Lastly would be ST, the type I share least in common with, as far as mental make-up. When I met SLEs, there was some connection deeper than all that, on a very intuitive level (not meaning ). Something I couldn't put my finger on, but it was there. The same for LSIs, actually. Like...not so much shared values, but shared..."insides"... Not so much that we share the same thing or like the same thing so much as we...complete eachother...need eachother...in an almost intangible way, lying right beneath the surface.

    Can anyone explain this better?
I agree that they are more comfortable actually, but I don't really hang out with NFs save for one. It's mostly a factor of not meeting enough NFs to befriend them, and wanting the challenge of hanging with STs. I sometimes doubt that it's really possible to connect on a very deep level with STs, but I do see how I enjoy and appreciate the fact that they exist.

I have an ISTp friend actually who told me that at first I looked like I was lazy (honestly, i do think he also took me for not being smart). Then he realized how his impressions of me were almost completely wrong, and that I'm a "rare breed" of person. It's funny thinking about it. I would say that to meet NFs you have to think like one, and definitely look past the appearance. But a word of advice will be to not bother if you expect it to be all perfect and care free, since it's really challenging. I do see STs rampage into NF mind/life without a clue of what they are doing. Maybe no one will understand that last part .
