yeah really. i get off my ass enough, but it still has got to be fun.
It was a slow night at work at the bowling alley tonight when a 6 year-old kid (a regular patron with a sweet tooth for lollipops and questions) came up to make conversation again:
(Out of the blue)
Kid: I think you want to be a kid.
Me: What makes you say that?
Kid: Grown-ups always want to be kids. And kids always want to be grown-ups. But not me. I want to be a kid.
He then proceeded to ask me what the sign about alcohol being bad for pregnant women meant, and to complain about his annoying cousins, and to talk about how he had just shaken up a can of Diet Coke and was going to open it if his coin landed on heads... which it didn't, so he flipped several more times.

Ah, I remember bits and pieces of being a kid. I realized when I was 8 or 10 years old that it wasn't going to last. To return to a more innocent time...it's what makes life worth living. To return one must unlearn everything one knows, and unlearning is much harder than learning. It only happens at very special times.

"You know man I just realized. Clubs and stuff aint for me, dressing up and shit to go out. I prefer the smokey bar or strip club where the bartender has a glasseye and the stripper has a wooden leg."
