Well, there are Emo subcultures... the mopey, depressed, anorexic, androgenous, wrist-slitting Emo culture has been replaced by Emo Punk, which is alive and well.

You know I had to think about it, but more than seeing her not supervising him (which in a sense she could be, because he's out in life persuing love which can be a form of the persuit of health, and isn't scheming meniaclly or withdrawing) is that she's not being dualized. You know what else is that I have a hard time believing an ISFP would go out like this since their se is secondary and not primary.

as a disclaimer, i haven't really intended to be serious in this thread. not as much as i've intended to crack nostalgic jokes at the expense of young people going through awkward times of their life. (sorry, i'm probably being an ass. but these "subcultures" have always just seemed so bizarre/amusing to me. i guess they look happy enough though so i'll back off...a little.)

that said, however, i was being relatively serious here:

unless maybe paired with beta Fe, i don't understand how "emo" or "scene" or whatever is going on there improves Se much. if i had an ESFp daughter, i'd anticipate having to tell her to put more clothes on before going out, rather than taking the "scene" get-up off

i think Smilex was largely right when he described gamma falling somewhere between "power-play" and "vanilla".

if gamma are related to theta waves then they're "drowsy," in terms of their consciousness.

You can mix some of emo, a bit of goth and then just go to the disco to dance 'raggeton'.

"dramatic expression of emotion"....I find it somewhat pathetic, but everyone needs to find their place, and some feel more left out, or w/e, and due to probably an inherent independence, they create an absurd image to get out their sense of confusion and pointlessness, and receive the attention they yearn for in this indifferent world.

sorry. I am all for freedom of expression. just when analyzing the roots of something like emo, it seemed kind of....."pathetic"....but diversity is great. I'm confused, and have been so in the past, so I think more. Whatever; no more judgements, to each his own.
