dee, if there are several observations I've made that are characteristic of you, they're these:
1. You place a high emphasis on Reinin.
2. You are adamant to 'stay on topic'
3. You have an almost compulsive need to create new topics.
why do we need an established set of questions/topics?
diagnosis of type is never quick nor easy.Originally Posted by dee
maybe, but responses any changes that were made, including a standardized process, would still need to be correctly interpreted. instead of interpreting comments that people decide to provide, you're instead interpreting [whatever the hell the input is supposed to be]. not likely to have much effect.Originally Posted by dee
dee, as far as I'm concerned, the most effective method of gaining a very, very rough idea of one's type is by following these steps:
1. Find out which temperament you belong to.
2. Find out which small group you represent.
3. Find out your quadra.
With any luck, the first two will match the quadra e.g. if you decided you were of the EP temperament, and then found you were an ST, and then went onto say that Beta was probably your quadra, you have a rough idea that you're SLE.
Further, more important measures are that you have to look at the functions. A good way of doing this is getting a basic picture of how each one manifests itself in life, and looking at examples of each type.

according to most people on this forum it's accurate for getting your socionics type.

do anything BUT this. ask people their favorite colors. whatever.
Still many people on this forum agree with me. I've asked them in a post to type Jonathan if I remember correctly. Many agreed, expat udp etc.
But oke, if you rather want colors...feel free to ask.
imo testing is about the worst way to type a person
What do descriptions of the functions accomplish? Does it allow a catagorization? Are we simply categorizing into "functional categories", or something else? How is socionics to be evaluated or judged?
Once we have a grasp of these fundamentals then we can move on to a test.

that is what i was getting at. if there is an inescapable appropriation that is required in the act of understanding, this brings into question the validity of socionics in describing what is real, and hence stubborn contradictions that continue to plague me.
considering who is asking the question, no. functions dont exist.Originally Posted by Mariano Rajoy

Categories and correlation could work, but there have been objections. I have not come to an answer myself on how to evaluate Socionics, especially if we wish to do so in a scientific context.
I suppose temperaments is the closest answer, therefore the dichotomies should guide the test.
Socionics is so messy...

That is an MBTI test.Originally Posted by Jarno
Yes I know, but it gives an accurate clue of your socionics type. Many members of this forum have taken the test.Originally Posted by Ezra
Many members of this forum have no idea as to their type. By fuelling their minds with ideas related to MBTI will not help them gain a more accurate idea of their type. It's the lesson I learned when I came to socionics. You have to completely empty your mind of all things MBTI. It does not help at all. There are too many differences between socionics and MBTI that go completely unnoticed, and they are crucial to understanding one's type.
If you know a more reliable test, please post it.
This fucking test says I'm INFj.Originally Posted by Jarno
