A thread about tcaudilllg's theories, explained by the resident labcoat in the most simple way possible.
Anyway, this will mostly be a question-and-answer format thread. Anything regarding information domains and slave types that requires clarification can be asked about here. If I do not know the answer myself, I can ask tcaud, translate his ramblings (j/k) and let things work out nicely.
To begin a quick overview;
Three aspects of personality affect the way interaction goes between people. These are:
Information domains. Also known as context lines. Four 'camps' that are constantly at odds and don't easily communicate with eachother.
Master types. Also called metabolism types. These are types that socionics already studies; the types we know and love.
Slave types. Also called exertion types. These are an addition to typology and new to the model, but otherwise structurally identical to the master types.
The first thing that is important to notice is that the words 'exertion' and 'metabolism' are best interpreted as simple names or labels rather than as indicators of meaning in themselves. There is still a lot unclear about the way the two types work together to create personalities, so it may just be that a superficial part of what they do has been mistaken for the true essence of what is going on. In other words, wether the types are correctly named is not yet 100% clear. I prefer and advise to use the terms 'master' and 'slave' instead for this reason.
