Default If you could be any fictional character...

...who would it be? And what do YOU think his/her/its type is?
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Oddly, the first character that came to mind was Lex Luthor in Smallville, but I quickly realized that I wouldn't want his psycho dad or to have lived the childhood he's lived or go where he's going. Tom Sawyer came to mind almost simultaneously, but I don't know why and I don't remember enough of the character to know why he came to mind.

    My final answer is Nami.

Tom Sawyer is a good one Ne-EP to the max. I would definitely consider him one of mine.

I thought I had mine, but I need to think about it more

The whole kit and kaboodle. But maybe don't think about his/her ultimate fate; just imagine how much you would like enacting that story as that person.

Or maybe include the fate. That would add an interesting dimension for people to consider For me, the act of living as that person is more important than the actual fate, but if it matters to you, then by all means take it into account.

Yeah, in spite of the hellish childhood Nami experienced, she's still definitely my top pick.

Roland Deschain (From Stephen King's 'The Dark Tower' series) by a long shot.

In which case, mine would probably be Paul Muad'Dib Atreides of Dune, and I have made the case that he is an INTj.

Also, it would be incredibly interesting to be either the amoral torturer messiah Severian (who is also a liar with an eidetic memory) in Gene Wolfe's The Book of the New Sun or the amoral and highly manipulative monk of causality Anasurimbor Kellhus from R. Scott Bakker's The Prince of Nothing series, whose character seemingly defies type.

I think mine would have to be Goldmund from the book Narcissus and Goldmund. I'm guessing nobody has heard of it

    Goldmund is most likely ESE.

    Nymphedora Tonks or Luna Lovegood

    Tonks:
She is a super awesome Auror.
She's...okay thats a give-away so I won't say it but its another plus.
    She can change her appearence.

    I identify with her.

If I had to type...uh, ExFx, probably ExFp.

    Luna:

She doesn't ever seem to get upset.
    She rolls with the punches.
    She doesn't really panic.
    She is smart.
She is hilarious, dreamy in a very appealling way.
Loves pudding and is wary of nargles
She is an extraordinarly good witch, or at least is heading her way to being one

I just would like my mind to be like hers?

    IxFx, probably P...

    NON-HARRY POTTER LOL:

Ella from Ella Enchanted, favorite semi-childrens book. She is well learned in many languages, she has faerie blood and had a faerie god mother, she is extremely charming and good with handling herself among many different sorts of people, Char is in love with her (Char was my idolistic man I kept in my day dreams for a long time). She becomes the queen and rules all in her awesomely normal way. She over comes an intense spell too!

    ExFx

I could think of a lot more....

When I was a kid I wanted to be this lady from Space 1999 who could change what she looked like into whatever she wanted. I thought that was super cool. I can't think of a fictional character I would want to be now though.

It's the lady with the eyebrows here:

Catherine Schell, she appeared in lots of tv series in the 70's.

When I was in college, I remember reading a parody of The Little Prince called The Little Punk Rocker where he wanted the guy to draw a picture of Sid Vicious, and the guy drew a picture of a coffin and said Sid Vicious was in the box. I wish I still had that because it was hilarious.

Yeah, you're right. In actuality, I relate more to that than to the other character's. Since I read that book, it has been my prority not to end up like him, since i identified way too much with it

I thought it was deeply interesting and complex at first (especially in the earlier years), so if I could be any hero I would be Buffy, the vampire slayer.
