Default How to deal with an out of control ESFp ?

I am looking to collect data on dealing with ESFps, particularly when they are really acting up and causing trouble. Any advices or experiences you can list would be helpful. I will add my own as I think of it.

It should be noted that if you are going to give specific advice, do not give it "to me", as I am not the person having the problem with the ESFp. Rather it is someone who's type is likely an IXFX, and not gamma/ISFj. That is all the information I can give out at this time, but if you need to ask specific questions I will answer them as best as possible.

    Thanks in advance.

It's too vague a request. All we know is the given types of the people in question, and that fact that there's a problem.

Socionics is fine for predicting and categorizing general trends. But the way you deal with people problems is to understand what the person is actually doing that is being perceived as a problem, and try to see all sides of the issue (typology can help with seeing the different sides). And then when it's clear what the problem is, then you can tackle how to solve it.

in all seriousness I think I would just be straight-forward with my concerns/feelings or whatever about the situation. I've noticed that ESFp's respect the direct no-nonsence approach when others have issues with them (provided they aren't drunk or otherwise in a dramatic state of mind)

Right, they are looking for an INTp's severe criticism.

my roommate is esfp, and i agree with the previous post that it's best to be straightforward with whatever you need to say. i can't think of anything that sets off my roommate more than people who are dishonest.

That comment made me think of something in a whole new way....

the rational alpha SF needs rational input from the rational alpha NT
the irrational gamma SF needs irrational input from the irrational gamma NT.

So in one sense, if I were to use my rational advice, it would be just as meaningless to me as an ESFps irrational advice. I will keep that in mind.

ESFp's adivice is usually realistic, not irrational. ESFp behaviour is irrational.

this seems like a good observation. it definitely applies to the ones I know.

That may be an allusion to why ESFps can claim very conservative values, and then act in such irrational ways.

Are you going to take responsibility for her health, too?

No. I wouldn't want to pull her out of her realm of understanding. The shock of subjects that aren't directly related to sexual intercourse may put her into a coma, and I don't have the heart or money to keep someone on longterm lifesupport.

    You're not alone
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...
