    Default Types & Tattoos

What do you believe your type is and do you have a tattoo?

If so, why did you get it, or what does it mean to you? Would you consider getting more?

If not, would you consider getting one? Why or why not?

Some sort of Beta ST. Don't have any. Want a couple and know what at least one will be.

My bodily image means very little to me, so i've never considered any decoration of the body like that. I find people who value appearances tend to slip through my fingers. Some of them can be pretty though.

I'm currently juggling SLI and ILI, maybe IEI. I've backed a bit away from my LII typing that i used to consider. Some sort of Ip type probably.

I would never take a tattoo. It just isn't my thing. I can't explain, I just don't want to alter my body with some stupid picture.

I work in construction and lots of the workers have tattoos. (Not just the Beta STs) Some even in neck and face area.
The decisive thing is not the reality of the object, but the reality of the subjective factor, i.e. the primordial images, which in their totality represent a psychic mirror-world. It is a mirror, however, with the peculiar capacity of representing the present contents of consciousness not in their known and customary form but in a certain sense sub specie aeternitatis, somewhat as a million-year old consciousness might see them.

Yes. I just wanted to know what it felt like lol. I don't even like it. I considered for years what I might get but it was too much pressure deciding on something perfect so I settled it by impulsively choosing from the parlor wall. But I don't regret it.

Another case for it not being type related is that for some it is cultural even to this day.

I used to want to get one when younger because it was part of the subculture I was hanging out in.

    But...

Once you get it, it's for life. It's very difficult to remove.

Given that fact it's likely I'll regret it so I never got one.

At this point, I am glad I never got one, I don't even really like how they look any more, either.

I have one and it usually surprises people lol. It’s on my back so hardly sees the light of day. I always said I’d never get one, like some people here, but after I had my first kid, I was 21 and just one day decided I wanted one. I think I was going through a stage. I looked online a lot and found one I liked. I told my hairdresser about it. She’s a goth girl thats in some roller derby club and knows a ton of people. She’s covered in tattoos so I figured she had to know. I think I surprised her that I wanted one. She told me about one of her friends that would do it. So I talked my husband into going to get one with me. I honestly kind of regret it and so does he, but it was an experience . I doubt I get anymore. And I doubt I get it removed.

It kind of has a meaning, but I honestly just liked how it looked. The guy doing my tattoo kept preaching about how you want it unique and to have person meaning and I honestly didn’t care. I also didn’t care if everyone else was doing it or not. I didn’t tell anyone about it when I did it. Very few people even know I have one.

I've considered it. Nothing is meaningful enough to do that though and I'm not enough of a showboater to do it for frivolous reasons.

I have one on my lower back. It is a phoenix, looking kind of like this one (not me) but with somewhat smaller wings and more cleanlined.

    wings-lower-back-tattoo.jpg

The image is meaningful to me and the location is easy to conceal and if I grow tired of it I wouldn’t have to look at it.

I was told it would hurt a lot since it was right on the spine but it really was not bad.

I have no plans to get more.

I actually like tribal tattoos and tramp stamps in some cases even though they look trashy.

Maybe I’d get something done with henna first as a trial. I want to be more rich before getting a permanent tattoo though so I don’t have to stress about it potentially holding me back and people judging me for being vain.

For several years I’ve thought that in the future I might like to get a tattoo of the Buddhist goddess Kannon on the back of my right thigh below my ass cheek. She is the goddess of mercy.

I always kinda liked the SLE porn star Chad barb wire tattoo around a muscular bicep lol. Or the gay sun thing. But it needs to be tasteful and not too tryhard. Too much is very off putting. For women, I think tattoos on their wrist look the sexiest. I really liked Holly Marie Combs' wrist tattoos on Charmed. Dear Lord why did they remake CHARMED it's all too PC and dumb now.

Strange, I hear that people usually decide to get more tattoos after the first. They say it takes 10 years to decide upon the first tattoo, and then ten minutes to decide upon the second. Still, smart decision to ensure you can hide it from most people. Always a smart move to be relatively certain that "identifying markings" aren't easy to see. Like, if birthmarks were barcodes "makeup" would be way more popular among both sexes if ya catch my meaning as even a tiny almost infinitesimal smudge will screw with the reading device...

LII, no tattoos and don't have any in plans. Generally I prefer to keep my body as it is without any modifications unless it's done for convenience or health. My aesthetic sense favours natural looks both on myself and the other people and I find not tattooed body prettier. Part of it is because I rarely see people with tattoos so I'm not used to it. Also some tattoos are prettier and some uglier, duh.

Yeah, that’s what I like about mine, too. I can’t see mine hardly at all unless I look in a mirror, and I forget it’s back there most of the time. Honestly don’t think I’d like having one in an area where I couldn’t cover it up or have to look at it everyday for that very reason.

I thought about getting more right after I had it done. I can see how people could get addicted to getting them. For me I felt like it was an identity thing, since becoming a parent really made me feel like I lost a sense of my identity. So I’m glad I stopped at the time.

Mine didn’t hurt either, but it’s on my back hip. And looks something like this..

I still like it, but if I was going to do it over again, I’d change it a bit.

No, probably resisted at first because they were becoming popular and "cool". But mostly, the artwork of most tatoo artists isn't really all that good, and then you are stuck with a shitty piece of art where there was once was beautiful flesh. I would get one if the artist was excellent and the symbolism was integral to my own self and wasn't likely ro change with life experiences.

I do like them on other people.

Not significant to your poll but I want to add this since tats and piercings are a business in my family so any of us could get however many we want for free.

ILI step dad - (One from his time in the navy. RIP)
LSI mom - 0 (Got mad at siblings getting them so young but didn't say no)
me - 0 (I have piercings besides my ears but easily covered with clothes)
    EII sister - 0
ESE sister - 1 (Could have more by now. I should ask. First one at 18)
IEI brother - 9 (First one at 17. Had piercings but removed them all soon after getting them. Also wanted to be a rapper at 17. )

SEI cousin - 5+ (First at age 20 and she was hooked. I understand why chose the ones she did but... nvm. She is also an artist but not on skin.)
ESI cousin - 0 (Repelled by them)
    EII uncle - 0
ESI aunt - (Thought they were the devils markings. Probably why ESI cousin is repelled by them. also RIP)

I don't know the rest of my extended family to say if they do or not but all these people had/have access to free tattoos

SLI brother in law - covered head to feet (is also a tattoo artist)

Alpha SF (brothers gf) - 16 tats (had them before they met)

I really need a reason. Something that makes people go WTF while not being adverse to possibilities could be it. As for purely for myself I don't see the reason why should I do it ever.

I don't see the point in getting one because there is a much easier way to put artwork on my body.

There are some guys walking around with my name on them. The first one was when I was 13 and he was 18. He put it on himself. Another guy has my face and hair on the body of of a mermaid tattooed on him. It was well done. I was always flattered by these gestures. Sometimes I wonder if those who put my name on them feel like idiots. I hope they had it covered. I know one didn't. At least the mermaid tat was beautifully done by a skilled artist and we parted on good terms. I assume he doesn't tell people he had it done on a whim after dating a girl a few weeks. Or maybe he does.

I think maybe some people get swept up in the passion or excitement of new things and don't think it through. You and I have a similar view on this. I also was part of subcultures where it was just normal to have one and more abnormal not to. Not they they really cared about me not having any.

I've got 8 tattoos, all of which are done in black and grey. Amongst them and the largest by far is a tattoo of Lucifer on my back. Most of them got some meaning to me, some do not. Gonna continue and get more.

The symbolism of mine has forever been meaningful to me but it did take me a while to decide to make it a tattoo. I feel having more, especially if done on a whim would only dilute the meaning.

Like you I don’t do tattoos for pure aesthetics either and tbh some full body tattoos simply look dirty to me as if the person didn’t shower. I have seen some really nice ones on the beach though. I don’t know their meanings but they look good.

I did plan to get a tattoo (not very seriously tho) when I was still in middle school, but I never thought about getting those big and flashy ones, I was always more into stuff like:

Well, looking at them now, I still think they're really pretty and if I were to get a tattoo, it would be something like this. Will I tho? Not sure, probably not, because:
    1) I have a very low pain tolerance, so I'm afraid it would be too painful for me,
    2) I'm not sure if I wouldn't regret getting it in 10 or 20 years,
    3) and if I would, if it would be easy to get rid of it (I've heard that for now, not every laser tattoo removal is succesful and scar-free)

So yeah. I'm kinda torn, my heart says 'yay!', but my mind says 'not so fast'.

There is big difference in what tatoos and how much of them people have.

Also the common problem of votings is wrong understanding of types in mb >50% what leads to the need of more people to take part to compensate this and such the correlation was clear.

It's better to use a case study. To find several people with tatoos and to type them. The majority of having many tatoos should be with Se valued type, among S types - Se ones. The lesser of tatoos - the lesser the trait is expressed - the lesser types correlation may to be.

do not have and do not like from aesthetic point
may accept easier: temporal pictures, made with a symbolism but not for "beauty", small ones

With some of your posts like this one I legit can’t tell if you’re being serious or if you’re facetiously being intense af lmao

I'm a pretty intense person. Usually I'm not facetious though.

I dig this show and all tattoos related shows in general. Imho, this one has a great concentration of central quadra types. One of the things that I find very interesting is to observe how they sometimes form alliances and plot against each others...

Tyler Nolan (maybe IEI) reminds me of Jared Leto and Tim Henson from Polyphia.

Getting a tattoo is a canon event for Se-egos, it will happen eventually.

Never wanted to do this. I hate being hurt and I change my preferences very often. I'll probably hate it after a few days. Unless I'm actually a warrior, and they are badges of winning the war. They said that's what they did before. As a warrior mainly I think it would be smart to put tattoos as a sign of how many people you've killed and how many cities you've destroyed to intimidate the enemy. But thank goodness we can now live peacefully.

I know an IEI who is quite addicted to tattoos. All of them have meaning for her. There is also an IEE who has a few tattoos but she deliberately put them where they can be easily covered and would complain about the pain every time it gets mentioned.

I've wanted a tattoo, but can't get them because of religious reasons, so I have to stick to temporary tattoos. If I could, then I'd love to get a full body yakuza tattoo, those things look sick as hell.

I have tattoos just because I like them. I don’t care about meaning as long as I like how it looks. Yea sometimes I wish I did things differently or made better decisions as to what I got but I’m gonna die anyway so who cares. I’ll just get more to overshadow the ones I don’t like. All of mine are really colorful. I wish I got black ink only because it matches everything and will look more mature as I age but it didn’t appeal to me when I started.
