    Default Rick and Morty

@Adam Strange mentioned this show on shoutbox and now I'm hooked as I find it quite entertaining. It's a very heavy show IMO. Here are my typings for the main characters. Feel free to share your own typings if you watch the show too:

    Rick: Ti-ILE
    Morty: Fe-SEI
    Beth: Si-LSE
    Jerry: Fi-ESI
    Summer: Si-ESE

The whole family is Alpha basically aside from Jerry as the sole Gamma. It also explains why he's kind of the odd man out in the family getting into arguments with Beth and conflicting with Rick consistently throughout the show. Morty and Rick look like duals to me as they compliment each other very well despite being very different. They even get into arguments and disagreements throughout the show, but by the end of each episode they are in good terms again.

Yeah... I think ILE-Ti for Rick (See subtypes here the Ne one is the sluggish one http://www.sociotype.com/socionics/t...ENTp/subtypes/)

(hah if it is not the verbal component with ESI-Se (in where I apparently cal people all kinds of things) it's the complete disengagement with ESI-Fi.)

I agree with all of those except Beth, who I'm sure is LIE. That, and Jerry could actually be SEI too, but he's def in the ISFx ballpark.

And Rick would be Ti subtype, imo

Rick seems to have better control of Se than Jerry, but that could just be Jerry being a total Jerry.

    Mr poopy butthole, IEI?
    Mr MeSeeks, EIE
    Ice T, LSE?
Projection is ordinary. Person A projects at person B, hoping tovalidate something about person A by the response of person B. However, person B, not wanting to be an obejct of someone elses ego and guarding against existential terror constructs a personality which protects his ego and maintain a certain sense of a robust and real self that is different and separate from person A. Sadly, this robust and real self, cut off by defenses of character from the rest of the world, is quite vulnerable and fragile given that it is imaginary and propped up through external feed back. Person B is dimly aware of this and defends against it all the more, even desperately projecting his anxieties back onto person A, with the hope of shoring up his ego with salubrious validation. All of this happens without A or B acknowledging it, of course. Because to face up to it consciously is shocking, in that this is all anybody is doing or can do and it seems absurd when you realize how pathetic it is.

I just finished watching all of the episodes from all seasons for Rick and Morty, I have made a few adjustments based on typings from others and my own realizations:

    Rick: Ti-ILE
    Morty: Fe-SEI
    Beth: Si-LSE
    Jerry: Fi-ESI
    Summer: Si-ESE

I am still open to changing my mind on these typings. I would like to hear more typings from others that have watched this show too.

This show is great. Agree on Rick being ILE. No opinion on others. The other characters seem dysfunctional, low self esteem, depressed, etc. In fact, everyone in Rick's family is pretty wonky.

I think it was a good call giving Jerry some time in this episode. ;p Just having beth being a jerk and summer all crazy in the last few episode got old quick.

Never could get into this show really, but I remember seeing the joke Australian episode that aired recently and enjoying it.

I believe that Morty’s dad is SLI. A very screwed up SLI.

Agreed. My ILE friend doesn't STFU about this show and keeps trying to make me watch it. Watched a few episodes and it just seems like the show is trying too hard to have some sort of quirky sophisticated humor. I don't know, just not my style. Not trying to shit on the show, but it is Alpha heaven for surelol.

Rick is ostensibly ILE (he's a mad scientist, after all) and Morty is SEI, but the show's creator Dan Harmon is quintessentially IEI and uses Rick as a mouthpiece to convey extremely nihilistic, dominantly Ni ideas. Thematically, the show is unambiguously Beta.

ILE tends to be one of the more friendly and optimistic types. Socionically speaking, the inability to turn off seeing possibilities will make you uncynical whether you want to be or not, although one is always free to interject whatever socionics-unrelated explanation for Rick's bitterness, including his alleged depressive disorder. The friendly Rick from the dimension where he stays with his daughter hits closer to the mark.

Rick's one trait that's *very* out-of-place is when he associates intelligence with philosophical outlook -- he believes that nihilistic people who don't give a shit are smart. Whether or not that's true, the idea that people are "better" because of what they feel is a very Beta theme.

Moral of the story: fiction doesn't have to imitate reality.

    1) ILE's are often nihilistic. How it shows depends on their mood. Because every possibility has an alternative which leads to loss of value.
    2) ILE's tend to be quite cyclothymic. Huge mood swings but many times when down they are in their science cave. Terminal subtypes obviously show more stable irritation than initial subtypes in public but initial types still probably catch fire around closest people.

Rick is probably dominant subtype but plays role of creative.

Rick Sanchez - ISTP - Gabin - (The Master)

The dream job for an ISTp would be the one where you can do nothing, get paid and don't have to give anything to anyone.
An ISTp retailer would drive the prices up until it's just about possible to sell the goods for that price, whereas an ISTp shopper would often be seen at a car boot sale.
However, this is not the only use of practical logic ISTp can be proud of.
ISTps know how to do just about anything. Plumbing...sure, gardening...sure, brain surgery...piece of cake...Oops, never mind.

Seems like ILI on steroids. From the get go lack of facial expressions. Just very extroverted one. Does not have a pineapple stored in rectum so no LII.

Woah, I got almost the exact same typings. 'cept I think Jerry has Ne neurosis more than Ne polr. SLI-Si is pretty similar to ESI-Fi and I think I'd go with that overall typing instead.
