Default "Basic" guilty pleasures by type

Basically things that are pretty stupid but have a mass appeal, or things that will trigger your supervisor.

ILE - Monty Python and the Holy Grail
    LIE - Ayn Rand's philosophy
EIE - Rage against the machine
Ne ego types - Parallel Universes
    IN types - Mysticism Alchemy

My guilty pleasures are not Ayn Rand's philosophy, which I recognized in HS as a self-serving delusional fantasy endorsed by very small people, but rather are romantic comedies and stories about smart people outwitting other smart people.

@Adam Strange, my point exactly. Maybe "basic" isn't the right word. Maybe "lowbrow"? I think mind game stories are pretty cool.

I'd say that I'm always ready for mocking parodies with weird mental twist.
I have triggered EII with this:

The thing which may trigger my supervisor is the attitude "Do what you must and let to be what will be".
It's hard for me to be sure in any future outcome, so I may look too close to the states: anxious or carefree.
Also I may use Ni, but it's rather hard, supressing and unpleasant process. For me it generally needs special mind states. Probably in them I may look irrationally too much assured for my supervisor. I may note: I was effective in using of Ni perception in my past [when wanted this], but it's alien for my common consciousness state.

WoW/mmorpgs. Playing a Spiritmaster in Aion now and having fun with it, want to lvl it up more but I have been lazy.

Pop music that makes str8 boys rightfully cringe with how gay and girly it is. Like something like this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0JgH7piD6g

Im a loser nerd omega male. Trying to be normal and fit in with society has always been incredibly painful and awkward for me. So my entire existence is pretty much a guilty pleasure. But I think people should be able to do what they want in life and what follow makes them happy as long as it doesn't hurt nopony else. *cough*

At my best I can climb my way up to beta negative. (thanks invisible jim for this accurate assesment)

Doom metal and an occasional existential crisis.

Mysticism does not make me feel guilty at all. I wouldn't even described it as a "pleasure". More like a state of awareness once you strip it of extraneous information (that only serves to confuse those who are not naturally inclined).

Thing is, when i'm interested in something i tend to involve myself in the subject to a degree where someone inevitably will make me feel at least a little bit guilty about it. I'm completely unresponsive to communication, until someone glosses over something of interest, and then i go off like i haven't had any contact for the last 10 years.

    I also like mysticism.

Typology is my guilty pleasure. other than that I dont think I have much. I don't like to waste time on things that aren't contributing to self-growth.

Maybe not guilty, but I could spend my time on more productive things especially now when I have gathered so much knowledge about it and there's not much left to take from it.

lol @Bertrand what class do you play?

but talking about the socionics thing to me isn't cringe-y in the sense that it's socially humiliating or makes one look too weak/ineffectual it's cringe-y because I don't think the average person really wants to hear about it or would even understand it.

yeah its hard to gently segue into a conversation on the topic since it presupposes a lot of knowledge or experience of the kind that's hard to establish in the context of a casual convo, so I get that.. as for me I play a dwarf female paladin. I don't raid or anything but i like logging on in my free time and killing demons and stuff. i listen to a lot of legal or psychological podcasts/youtubes while playing because it allows me to do 2 things that would be relatively boring apart, but together it feels productive. like its hard for me to sit and listen to a podcast unless im driving somewhere, but they're full of useful knowledge, and at the same time just mindlessly slaying demons is sort of fun but the soundtrack is useless and id rather do something with my brain while my hands and eyes are working

Would this be related to the hidden agenda? I don't feel guilty over interests concerning my ego block. I would say a guilty pleasure of mine is romantic fiction. I used to play a lot of WoW, but I never felt like it was something I had to hide or be embarrassed about.

Not replying to people for days, making bad decisions at the last moment, bringing drinking or smoking weed into situations I don’t really need to, not sleeping enough or taking care of myself in general to focus on other things, recording everything I do because I’m funny, speeding, eating too much.

But I only feel guilty for the last one.

My biggest guilty pleasure by far is shutting myself in at home and doing nothing aside from browsing the web/games/music. I pretty need there to be stuff going constantly around me that keeps me active and productive otherwise I'll slip into a "hibernation mode" that is unhealthy. I was in a hibernation slump throughout my whole teens and it left me under-accomplished and socially isolated.

I used to play a draenei enhancement shaman but didn't like how squishy they were, now I play a worgen restoration druid. And my first main was a human male Holy Priest.

I like how dwarf females are rare. I rolled a dwarf female mistweaver monk cuz drawf female monk is the rarest race-gender-class combo in game, or so I've read. I really love using Life Cocoon on people <3 tbh I like it better than being a resto druid but idk, druid's kit is just so solid and versatile and strong all around.

I raided before, only up till the heroic level but people are really toxic and antisocial in the game so yeah. Now I'm taking like a six month break from WoW until the new expansion comes out. I probably will change mains to mistweaver monk.

Anyway anybody ever feels like a loser, they can always look at me and feel better about themselves. I am caring that way.

Obsessing over what to change about myself, Wasting time lying in bed on my phone (mostly Instagram), fantasizing about different situations that may never ever happen, or things that I should be doing to make my life more productive but rarely getting around doing them.

Same here lol; one of the reasons I like winter is because if I do end up going out I'm covered from head to toe with thick black clothes and a puffy hoodie to boot, so I still feel comfortably hidden That said...the lethargy is pretty much like quick sand; the bitch just takes over

My other guilty pleasures are ghosting people and stalking my ex on fb #healthy

Switch FeNi and SeFi because Twilight is Gamma SF, and comedies/charts do better with Beta -
And moral relativism has zero mass appeal last time I checked

Twilight is arguably Gamma, yes. There is some overlap in Top 40 music, it's Se valuing ethical in general.

The main theme in romcoms is relationships - @Adam Strange's interest in them is consistent with what I've seen from Gammas.

It has widespread appeal among American liberals / academia (and not just moral relativism, relativism in general).

It's really tricky for me. Why?
Because there's someone on my shoulder telling me that "guilty pleasures" don't exist.
Yet there's another person sitting on the other side telling me that oh, they do exist. And they are worthy to be ashamed of. But are they, really?

It's a huge problem going as far back as human perception and (forgive me for saying this, Lord) eugh...Stigmas.
Imagine this: A world where what you enjoy isn't considered "guilty" because there is no mainstream criticism surrounding it. Without the individual being hit from all sides by phrasing such as "AHHAHA, you actually enjoy this? Holy shit. I can't believe it." , there would be no more shame involved in what we are supposed to enjoy.
Guilty pleasures should just be called "pleasures".
Should the captain of the football team be ashamed for watching "The Great British Bake-off" while doing origami and blasting Rebecca Black's "Friday" on the stereo?
    Yes.
    Yes he should.
    That song is horrible.

But not every pleasure is guilty. Do whatever makes you feel good. But make no mistake: If the pinacle of ecstasy for you represents stealing purses, making babies cry, or anything involving homicide and/or harm, just know that you should probably not do it. And that you're a monster.
“I want the following word: splendor, splendor is fruit in all its succulence, fruit without sadness. I want vast distances. My savage intuition of myself.”
