    Summary Analysis of Profile

By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: ESTP

    Lead (Dominant) Process
Extraverted Sensing (Se): Immersing in the present context. Responding naturally to everything tangible you detect through your senses. Checking with what your gut instincts say. Testing limits and take risks for big rewards.

    Support (Auxilliary) Process
Introverted Thinking (Ti): Gaining leverage (influence) using a framework. Detaching to study a situation from different angles and fit it to a theory, framework or principle. Checking for accuracy. Using leverage to solve the problem.

If these cognitive processes don't fit well then consider these types: ISTP or ENTP

By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: INFP

    Lead (Dominant) Process
Introverted Feeling (Fi): Staying true to who you really are. Paying close attention to your personal identity, values and beliefs. Checking with your conscience. Choosing behavior congruent with what is important to you.

    Support (Auxilliary) Process
Extraverted Intuiting (Ne): Exploring the emerging patterns. Wondering about patterns of interaction across various situations. Checking what hypotheses and meanings fit best. Trusting what emerges as you shift a situation’s dynamics.

Some of the questions reminded me of enneagram questions, such as a similarity between Fe and the so stacking.

By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: INFJ
    Lead (Dominant) Process
Introverted Intuiting (Ni): Transforming with a meta-perspective. Withdrawing from the world and focusing your mind to receive an insight or realization. Checking if synergy results. Trying out a realization to transform things.

    Support (Auxilliary) Process
Extraverted Feeling (Fe): Building trust through giving relationships. Empathically responding to others' needs and take on their needs and values as your own. Checking for respect and trust. Giving and receiving support to grow closer to people.

It gave me TiNe. I know that I practice Se consciously in a very warped way but still hard. Fi tends to be... I don't know.. maybe just maybe the reason is: I evaluate possible outcomes and I try to be well meaning so it gives me false boost in that department. Ti is not that über excellent either but it is good, though. I have been kickstarting my Fe HA IM so it gives some extra points.

I can actually see different blocks: ego and super-ego are clearly visible while id and super-id are harder to decipher apart.

    A couple questions and comments:

Why is the test giving me INFP when Ne was higher than Fi? (only by a few points but still?) Is it because Si is also fairly high?

Do I have turn in my INTP/LII badge now?

^Ni speaks in form of a badge. It is used as demonstrative and humorous purposes: xII. I think LII-Fi fits best. In other words: You have deteriorated your base function and lost you identity to your role. Sounds serious and I think you should get some help ASAP.

It would be interesting to see how results are calculated. Should I start to reverse engineer it in order to gain understanding? It truly bugs me to have 4D Te in demonstrative spot. It is like have shown to have much potential and still humorously fail at everything, do lots of stuff that no one cares about and give out things that are useful for free. Oh, well... like I care about myself.

This test measures MBTI functions, not socionics functions. I have strong 4-D Ni in socionics but it's unvalued. I'm not mystical or psychic or anything like that. I tend to mock those sorts of things. The demonstrative function is said to be the 'mocking' function. I do have a good sense of time and ability to anticipate where things are likely to be headed, which is different than just forecasting the future. I don't try to predict it or make statements like "this *will* happen." It's more a sense of based on what has already happened over time, I anticipate that what is likely to follow is __________________. But whether or not that actually happens is anybody's guess. I also find myself thinking about the meaning in my life and my place in the world alot. I have this ongoing existential anxiety. I think it might be more likely in types with strong Ni but I'm not sure.

Also, regarding subtypes, I figured out Ni subtype from the end of this article. Copying and pasting that text below. Note that this system uses 8 subtypes.

The next step - isolation of eight subtypes

This task becomes urgent when the group increases to 7-8 people. For distinguishing eight subtypes we add an additional scale - primary/secondary, which reflects the hierarchy of personal needs.
It should be noted that theoretically there must be seven such dichotomies (including the three already known dichotomies). However, the description of the entire spectrum of subtype dichotomies is not the object of this report.
Any type of behavior that has as its priority the satisfaction of common group needs can be both primary and secondary. Primary needs are needs of a concrete, current nature (food, health, shelter, family, intimacy and so forth). Secondary needs are deep, lofty (a quick promotion, social status, spiritual peace, knowledge and so on). Questionnaires with the use of this scale have yet to be created.

Experimentally these subtypes are derived through their internal role within an octal group of identicals.
Dominating, along the primary axis generates the intragroup role of the motivator (psychologists call this the informal leader), and along the secondary axis role - the engine (formal leader).
Creative, along the primary axis acquires for itself the role of contactor, and on the secondary the role of group innovator.
Normalizing along the primary axis is the conscience of the group, and along the secondary its coordinator.
And finally, primary harmonization leads to the role of decorator, and secondary to the role of expert.

Most frequently our school determines octal subtypes not through dichotomies, but through the examination of the strength of one of the eight functions of the socionics model. Here I derive the following patterns...
Strengthening function forms demonstrative-artistic behavior. Corresponds to primary domination through emotional pressure, the skill to inspire or frighten. Primary domination in animals is connected to bright colors, cries, expressive mimicry and gestures.
Strengthening function forms the lingering behavior. This method of domination is secondary. This is the business leader, who persistently and emphatically gets his own way.
Both these models of behavior are frequently encountered together, being combined through the role mask. This bears out the fact that domination, although it is manifested through two varieties, is nevertheless a one-piece process.

Strengthening function forms excitable behavior. This treats creativity as primary and instinctive. It gives nonstandard, rapid solutions during extreme, critical (for survival) situations.
Strengthening function forms affective-labile behavior. This is secondary creativity, connected to intellectual fantasy, nonstandard ideas, directed not towards output based on dead-end situations, but to the solutions of future problems.
Both these functions frequently work together as two sides of a united innovation-introductory process.

Strengthening function gives alarming-over-anxious behavior. This is the primary-axis setting, which does not require formal commitment to traditional rules.
Strengthening function leads to the formation of formal-pedantic behavior. It is secondary in nature in response to the satisfaction of common group needs. It is based on regulation, instruction and official laws.
Both these models of behavior can act together, strengthening each other. Conscientiousness and pedantic relation to one's responsibilities are considered two sides of normalizing behavior.

Strengthening function is responsible for the formation of asthenoneurotic behavior. This is primary, vital harmonization, connected to the value of solid comfort.
Strengthening function forms shut-off, self-submerged, up to autistic behavior. This is secondary harmonization in terms of a spiritual-mental plan.
Both these models of behavior are equivalent, i.e. they are frequently developed together and strengthen each other. It is well known that for the meditation of the mind it is necessary to relax the body.

If we advance ourselves further according to our algorithm, then the next step of the elaboration of subtype will be 16 subtypes. These, I have encountered thus far only with the need for providing a solution to the problem of selecting a professional orientation, when it is necessary for a person to select a career from different spheres of activity. This most complex level will be examined in our subsequent works.

I think I relate most to Ni, followed by Ne, then Si and Ti.

I'm not sure why Ni is said to have 'autistic' behavior though. But I will admit to being kind of Asperger-y. Definitely self-submerged. And striving toward 'expertness.'

I would like to see a LII-Se. That would be interesting.

Ha ha! My 'limited' use of Se pwns your 'unused' Se.

    I expected higher Ti too.

This statement falls under Ti: "Apply leverage to a situation to solve a problem impersonally using minimal effort."

I didn't really agree with it though. I'm not quite clear what's meant by 'leverage' and I don't think I necessarily look for minimal effort. I'm more concerned with logical accuracy and soundness and if it takes more effort so be it.

So does this one: "Concisely reference multiple frameworks at once while problem solving."

Well I somewhat agree with it. I don't know about the concise part of it.

Also this one: "Take apart something to figure out the principles on which it works."

I marked 'somewhat agree' because it depends on the thing. I'm not really interested in how mechanical objects work but with theories and abstract things, yes!

Everything else under Ti was strongly agree.

As usual, I'm overthinking these questions. (So can I have a few more Ti points please?)

    OUR COGNITIVE PROFILE

    Understanding Your Results
A profile of your cognitive development is presented below, based on how you have described yourself. A 4-letter personality type code and temperament are also presented for your convenience if you are familiar with those frameworks. Most people find their results match their 4-letter personality type code and temperament. That is, we tend to develop what we prefer and vice versa. As you reflect on your cognitive profile, keep in mind that sometimes we develop a cognitive process to meet the demands of our environment or use a process well in one area of our lives but not others.
    The Eight Processes
Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung identified four mental functions — today known as cognitive processes. We focus our attention and gather information using Sensing (S) and iNtuiting (N), and we organize our experiences and make decisions using Thinking (T) and Feeling (F). Jung described how each of these four processes plays out in a person's "internal world" (I) of thoughts, feelings, memories and imagination; and in the "external world" (E) of actions, people, tools and organizations. Thus, 8 cognitive processes (Se, Si, Ne, Ni, Te, Ti, Fe, Fi).
    Basic and Developed Use
Each cognitive process can be engaged in a basic, unsophisticated way reflecting our natural human capabilities. Almost everyone can engage each process in some basic way. Beyond this, you will engage some cognitive processes in a more sophisticated, developed way. This is usually the result of innate preference plus lifelong growth and practice, which equals development.
Perceiving—how we focus our attention and gather information
Cognitive Process Basic (Passive) Use Developed (Active) Use
extraverted Sensing (Se) Notice sensory data in the environment. Trust your instincts and take action relevant to the moment and current context.
introverted Sensing (Si) Recall tangible data and experiences. Stabilize a situation by comparing it to what is expected, known and reliable.
extraverted Intuiting (Ne) Notice abstract patterns as they emerge. Shift a situation's dynamics and explore imaginative potential possibilities.
introverted Intuiting (Ni) Receive "ah-ha" insights and realizations. Persue a greater level of awareness to transform who you are and how you think.
Judging—how we organize our experiences and make decisions
Cognitive Process Basic (Passive) Use Developed (Active) Use
extraverted Thinking (Te) Follow steps, points and time tables. Create structure, reason by measures and evidence, and implement complex plans.
introverted Thinking (Ti) Adhere to definitions and impersonal principles. Analyze a problem using a framework, and find an angle or leverage by which to solve it.
extraverted Feeling (Fe) Honor others' needs and preferences. Connect with people by sharing values and taking on their needs as yours.
introverted Feeling (Fi) Adhere to personal beliefs about what's important. Evalute situations and choose what you believe is congruent with your personal identity.
Development is more than basic or developed use of processes in isolation. Excellent use of a cognitive process involves both basic and advanced use as appropriate, and ability to deploy other processes in its service. Average to good use usually means we can use the process in limited situations or use it well but only with the aid of other processes. Poor use means basic use at most. Finally, we may get ourselves into trouble when we don't use a process at all.
    Your Cognitive Development Profile
The forty-eight questions you rated earlier tap into the eight cognitive processes. Some questions tapped into basic or developed use of a process used by itself, while other questions tapped into use of multiple processes at once. The profile below is based on your responses. The number of squares indicate strength of response. The equivalent numeric is shown in parentheses along with likely level of development.

Cognitive Process Level of Development (Preference, Skill and Frequency of Use)
    extraverted Sensing (Se) ******************************** (32.6)
    good use
    introverted Sensing (Si) ************* (13.2)
    unused
    extraverted Intuiting (Ne) ********************** (22.5)

    introverted Intuiting (Ni) ************************************** (38.3)

    extraverted Thinking (Te) ******************************** (32.4)

    introverted Thinking (Ti) ************************************ (36.4)
    excellent use
    extraverted Feeling (Fe) ********************* (21.1)
    limited use
    introverted Feeling (Fi) ******************************************* (43.7)
    excellent use
    Summary Analysis of Profile
By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: ISFP
    Lead (Dominant) Process
Introverted Feeling (Fi): Staying true to who you really are. Paying close attention to your personal identity, values and beliefs. Checking with your conscience. Choosing behavior congruent with what is important to you.

    Support (Auxilliary) Process
Extraverted Sensing (Se): Immersing in the present context. Responding naturally to everything tangible you detect through your senses. Checking with what your gut instincts say. Testing limits and take risks for big rewards.

If these cognitive processes don't fit well then consider these types: ESFP, or INTJ

If these results are different from what you know of yourself, you might consider why your developmental pattern does not align with your expectation. You might also consider exploring this result as a possible better fit.
    The Four Temperaments
Corresponding best-fit temperaments based on your profile: Improviser; secondly Theorist; then Catalyst; and lastly, Stabilizer.
To read more about the four temperaments click here.
    Sixteen Patterns
Jung observed that everyone has potential access to all eight cognitive processes but that we each prefer one as dominant — playing a lead role — with a second process playing a support role. Your two preferred cognitive processes allow you to do information gathering and decision making, introverting and extraverting. Maybe you prefer introverted Intuiting in a lead role with extraverted Feeling in a support role, or maybe you prefer extraverted Sensing in a lead role with introverted Thinking in a support role. Or maybe you prefer some other pairing. These pairings tap into sixteen possible patterns which are often represented using a 4-letter code. Here are the sixteen type patterns and the preferred cognitive processes associated with each:
    Type Lead Process Support Process
    ESTP extraverted Sensing introverted Thinking
    ISTP introverted Thinking extraverted Sensing
    ESFP extraverted Sensing introverted Feeling
    ISFP introverted Feeling extraverted Sensing
    ESTJ extraverted Thinking introverted Sensing
    ISTJ introverted Sensing extraverted Thinking
    ESFJ extraverted Feeling introverted Sensing
    ISFJ introverted Sensing extraverted Feeling
    ENTJ extraverted Thinking introverted Intuiting
    INTJ introverted Intuiting extraverted Thinking
    ENTP extraverted Intuiting introverted Thinking
    INTP introverted Thinking extraverted Intuiting
    ENFJ extraverted Feeling introverted Intuiting
    INFJ introverted Intuiting extraverted Feeling
    ENFP extraverted Intuiting introverted Feeling
    INFP introverted Feeling extraverted Intuiting
    Validity and Reliability of Results
As of October 2005, over 3000 people have taken this cognitive assessment. There are many ways to validate an assessment. A common statistical method called factor analysis confirms there are eight distinct cognitive categories (all items in the assessment that tap into the same cognitive process have a correlation of at least r=0.2 and most have r=0.4 to r=0.6.) Furthermore, people who have taken this assessment and reported their 4-letter type code have received results that matched their type code 75% to 80% of the time. This is excellent performance since the reported type may be inaccurate even when "validated" or from a professional assessment. Even when the type code does not exactly match, the temperament result matches over 95% of the time. Thus, you can consider your results here as valid as those from any professionally developed assessment.
    Further Exploration
What if the 4-letter code reported here is different from what you expected? Say your type code result here is ESTP and the type you are familiar with for yourself is INTJ. Even though the type codes look quite different, you may have rated the cognitive processes for these two types rather closely. Also, keep in mind the cognitive profile is based on your responses. Continuing with the example, if you didn't think of yourself as an ESTP, then you would want to explore why you rated highly a phrase such as "freely follow your gut instincts and exciting physical impulses as they come up." This phrase clearly does not fit with the INTJ type pattern. Please visitwww.bestfittype.com for more information and exploration. Summary Analysis of Profile

If these cognitive processes don't fit well then consider these types: ENFP, or INTP

    The Four Temperaments
Corresponding best-fit temperaments based on your profile: Catalyst; secondly Theorist; then Improviser; and lastly, Stabilizer.

    Nardi's test.

I just wonder if translates well to scoring possible DCNH subtypes. Probably not, because the functions may be MBTI-esque.

For me (I do currently considered myself to be N subtype as it happens):
    60.0 D 41.7 18.3
    43.8 C 35.6 8.2
    73.8 N 31.2 42.6
    63.0 H 26.2 36.8

I actually score higher on + than + which just seems wrong.

A very similar result to 7 years ago, surprisingly:

quite surprised by that...I thought I was going to still manage to score highest on introverted thinking. I think the thinking functions must have split the vote but I don't know why the extroverted form is higher than the introverted. Clearly I have a have a different perception of how I do things nowadays.

Subteigh, are + strongest in your dual type? That's one of the things I take issue with when it comes to self testing. Personally I have days where I don't measure my strengths objectively, and vote "yes, that's me" for things I admire and want to embody.

I don't know. I probably appreciate the EJ temperament the most, but I may not be able to say more than that.
