    I like the name Mia.
The Barnum or Forer effect is the tendency for people to judge that general, universally valid statements about personality are actually specific descriptions of their own personalities. A "universally valid" statement is one that is true of everyone—or, more likely, nearly everyone. It is not known why people tend to make such misjudgments, but the effect has been experimentally reproduced.

The psychologist Paul Meehl named this fallacy "the P.T. Barnum effect" because Barnum built his circus and dime museum on the principle of having something for everyone. It is also called "the Forer effect" after its discoverer, the psychologist Bertram R. Forer, who modestly dubbed it "the fallacy of personal validation".

but I like vintage names like pearl and opal. Ha they sound old ladyish probably. Problem is as much as you like a name, when you have a child with someone, you usually have to compromise. So the names of my kids are compromises lol I like them, but if it would have been just me, they would have been weirder

    Oh, I have some!

Boys: Sebastian, Atticus, Romulus, Rivaille, Levi, and Ludwig
Girls: Anastasia, Ariel, Elliot, Luna, and Lilith

I am partial to names that start with L, A, or R personally.

I liked Io, Zoe, Ariadne, and Athena, as girls' names too.

I like Michael, Damon, Jack, and Hector for boys.

In real life I have what most people in the US consider to be a "girl's name", but technically it's unisex. I think because of this I'm really partial to names that don't strongly imply gender. For boys I really like Ash, Kelly, and Jackie. For girls I quite like Max, Parker, and Riley

Before our son was born, we knew he was a boy but didn't have a name picked out for him yet. We placeholdered him with the name of "Biff," or "The Little Biffer."

He ended up with the names of his two grandfathers.

    For tradition!

I've always liked the girl's name "Arlene", but that's because there was a girl in my grade school neighborhood named Arlene, and she was hot. Well, she was older, anyway. Two years, so she was basically a goddess to us. But my wife vetoed that name. IDK why. Lol.

I like the name Diane, or Diana. I also like "Athena", but that probably wouldn't fly in modern times, either.

I might be stuck on goddess names.

hmm for male names I've liked John the best. It is my top tier pick even though it's 'basic' I suppose. and Michael and George and.. George Michael? Oh god I didn't realize that until now lol.

For female names I've liked... okay this is going to sound so horrible but I'm so gay I don't know of any female names that I really like all that much. Please don't get mad- god I suck sorry lol. ugh why do I always have to be such a goddamn misogyinstic homo all the time.

okay... I think for some weird reason I like the female name 'Natalie.'

yeah I was trying to think of female names I liked but there was like no true objectivity to it or something- it was weird. Like for every female name I picked I thought of a girl who had that name that I didn't like lol ((cuz I was trying to go by the girls with that name I liked in the Fi way instead of the name itself)) but the male names- even though there was names of the people I didn't like of that name as well - it felt more well rounded and objectively true or something- if that makes sense.

aww I feel sad at the thought of not being able to have a boy baby called Gabriel too..it’s so cute! You grow up associating it with angels and it has a beautiful sound. And I can hear Carey Mulligan lovingly addressing Farmer Oak in the Far from Madding Crowd movie..there is also a really groovy song called Gabriel (Roy Davis Jr) with the lyrics ‘dancing soon became a way to communicate’ which I’ve always loved haha. Olivia is very sweet too

Adolph is actually a pretty badass name.

The name is a compound derived from the Old High German Athalwolf (or Hadulf), a composition of athal, or adal, meaning "noble" (or had(u)-, meaning “battle, combat”), and wolf. The name is cognate to the Anglo-Saxon name Æthelwulf (also Eadulf or Eadwulf). The name can also be derived from the ancient Germanic elements "Wald" meaning "power", "brightness" and wolf.
The Barnum or Forer effect is the tendency for people to judge that general, universally valid statements about personality are actually specific descriptions of their own personalities. A "universally valid" statement is one that is true of everyone—or, more likely, nearly everyone. Lol. Nope. Not once in a long life, @xerx.

I actually hate moustaches. And goatees. I once grew a full beard, but I shaved it off when my dance instructor implied that I just grew it to get attention.

Here's a super-rare and crappy picture of me with my beard just growing out. Despite how it looks there, it was a full beard. What scared me was that parts of it came out gray.

At least one of my grandfathers was LIE. I never met the other one, but I think Gamma is possible. He married into an Alpha/Delta family and produced an SLI who produced an LIE, an LSE, and an LII.

@Director Abbie tried to compile some family data, but I haven't heard anything about her findings.

Also, we are derailing this thread.

A bit of "detrailing" in conversations is natural lol. A tiny back and forth mini-convo in a thread is not a derailment.

oh duh- I really like the female name Fifi/Fefe as well lol. Fefe Dobson... Fifi Lafume on Tiny Toon Adventures.

Natalie, Nicole and Fefe/Fifi probably my top 3 favorite female names.

    I like Nora.

I like Michael, Damon, Jack, and Hector for boys.
I am partial to the Greek/Roman names. I feel as one's own life is an epic story. Why not have an epic name?
