Question What do you (dis)like about your e-type?

    Give a top 5 each!

    Starting out for 3w4.

    3. Can achieve anything, I also like achievement in others
    4. I have the evil but sexy sass of Draco Malfoy (also 3w4)
    5. Whenever I feel like I can't measure up, I realize that I am just myself and don't have to be like anybody else.

    DISLIKE

    1. Excessive egocentrism, narcissism, condescencion, hostility, Kanye-ism, lonerism, vanity aka insecurity
    2. Feeling empty sometimes
    3. Dependency on outward evaluation, often
    4. What is identity

About myself specifically as e9, in no particular order:

    LIKE:

1 - ability to put things in perspective. A lot of people do things because of random shit inside their own heads, instead of doing things *at* (general) you. From this, an ability to evaluate eg: political stances wrt how they benefit a specific worldview, rather than just whining that they don't fit *my* worldview. More accurate image of the world.
    2 - ability to chill
3 - decent (colloquial) intuition, gut instinct
4 - decent at asking people questions about themselves, reasonably good at active listening (see #4)
5 - Some dissolution is transcendental.

    DISLIKE:

1 - Addictive personality, for better or for worse
2 - Can shut people out quite efficiently, use indifference to hurt
3 - Random anger from people is unsettling, have to work at not automatically either shouting back or folding.
4 - Can forget to talk about myself at all (see #4)
5 - Some dissolution is just plain weakness.

People who 'want to be e9' because they 'are so chill and nice' annoy me. I suspect that they need to separate 'chill' from 'blank' and 'passive niceness' from 'actively decided kindness'.
    Reason is a whore.

Yes, this describes you Doubting is such a good point, your typing process itself already says everything. I had that as well just with the confusion of me being able to act like any type. And who is the chameleon of the enneagram? The 3. Awesome that you brought it up!

    Dislike:

-Deep down I don't actually care for anything but I feel like I should act like I care. I have some patterns I fall back to and get easily addicted to things (luckily I never really tried some sort of drug or alchohol or smoking- I am painfully aware of the fact that if I do try, I most likely wouldn't be able to stop as easily as I would like to fool myself into thinking.)
-I actually can't show it when I am really sad, in fact, whenever I roleplay with my IEI friend and there is something that makes me feel really bad, I tend to go and jump around in a cheerful manner. Which often ends up with my mother asking why I look so happy and stopping on my tracks to realize that no, I am sad and everything hurts.
-I know how to actually start care about things but feel like ultimately it doesn't matter deep down once again, so why bother? Unless it is going to help someone else, I would procrastinate something that would help me to hell.
-I am not as razor-sharp-focused compared to LII 5s (or ILE-Ti 5s which I assume Chae would chime in with?) and my mind tends to be a bit more hazy. I can just tune out whole world and act in autopilot if I get stressed. But at the end of the day, I need a conclusion about things so I eventually end up getting out of said haze at some point.
-(more of w1 based but) I really can't handle it when I make a mistake- especially when it ends up with hurting any other person. It just doesn't fit my personal principle of being fair/thinking it is not my right to hurt someone with my actions just as much as they shouldn't be allowed to do same to me. I actually developed methods around actually giving my all to a project just to not feel like a huge failure and human waste at a small mistake in something I poured hours and hours on.

    Like:

-I can get along with most people if I try. Despite not really exactly "seeing their point of view" (I can imagine how it must be for them to a certain point and feel/act like I can relate), according to people, I give this really soft and understanding air despite being distant. There is this childlike vibe that comes with high and usually-acts-sunny-despite-not-feeling-it 9ness which makes it easy for people to not feel judged. (Probably have something to do with my low as well? I hate feeling judged so I avoid making such judgement calls on people as much as possible.)
-Which leads to them opening up somewhat easily to me due to downplaying my own strengths as well as laying out what I think/feel/experienced so far and it often ends up with them describing it as "therapeuthic". But despite that, I don't really feel a huge "connection" to most of them. I just like helping people out of principled love for humankind as a whole if I can, which is, pretty rare as well. (I wouldn't exactly go out of my way to do that but occasionally, I do...) It makes me feel like there is some meaning to doing things at times as well, perhaps.
-Nobody really sees me as a threat or enemy. At most, they would simply ignore me or think that I am weird.
-If I recally correctly, 9 sp tend to have some correlation with so I suppose that's another point I like? I like the comfort food&sense of stableness/security quite a lot and despite being bored when there is nothing else to think about, I naturally act in accordance get my HA (despite in a way that is perhaps not the healthiest...) and most likely to make it seem as I have it higher than I have/as if I can actually handle it. Haha not really but I don't like it when people know that I am not exactly best at that....
-(this part is more about being a sp/so but) not having to deal with relationship bullshit and not feeling any need to be in any romantic stuff Makes life a hell lot easier. My 9w1 LII (not sure about his subtype but most likely Ne subtype) (yes, I actually showed him LII profile and asked if he identified with it as well as watch his interactions) sx/so friend had a lot of problems due to feeling need for relationships which ended badly due to not having a properly developed at the time. So yeah.

    Good:
    1. Realistic and opportunistic
    2. Secretive with a good poker face when necesarry
    3. Know how to leave a good impression and make people like me (but only when I want to and for those people who count)
    4. When things go wrong, can easily leave things behind me and start again - can detach from most people, situations and past failures easily (the only exceptions are my SO and parents)
    5. Self-sufficient and non-whiny: aware that I can only count on myself.
    6. Mostly positive attitude, believing that future is full of opportunities
    7. Very romantic, attached and idealistic in romantic relationships, warm dependable friend when it's a two-way street

    Bad:
    1. Often being ashamed of my close ones and how they reflect on me. Sense of shame when I'm seen in public with an embarrassing person.
    2. Innate sense of superiority
    3. Too concerned about looks, desirability, money, status
    4. Low impulse control
    5. Lying to appear better and more interesting
    6. Sometimes feeling empty like life has no meaning beyond superficial pursuits (cynical and nihilistic when feeling down)
    7. Can cut corners at work or redirect work to others if I feel a task is beneath me or too mundane. As long as it appears I'm very busy at all times and the results are good, I'm not killing myself for boring shit

Enneagram is bullshit. I prefer astrology because it entirely logical that the month I was born in defines everything about me and decides my fate.
Important to note! People who share "indentical" socionics TIMs won't necessarily appear to be very similar, since they have have different backgrounds, experiences, capabilities, genetics, as well as different types in other typological systems (enneagram, instinctual variants, etc.) all of which also have a sway on compatibility and identification. Thus, Socionics type "identicals" won't necessarily be identical i.e. highly similar to each other, and not all people of "dual" types will seem interesting, attractive and appealing to each other.

I thought perhaps I should clarify this. It's not "expecting that anything is a great risk," but "that expecting anything is a great risk." The anything is not the risk; the expecting is the risk.

    like:

    - when I'm on, I'm on the ball and rolling with force
    - spiritual...
    - when I touch people or cuddle with them, they relax and fall asleep (people have come over just to "take a nap" or something)
    - even spending time with me and we are doing stuff people fall asleep because they feel relaxed LOL
    - I'm unintentionally funny

    dislike:

    - I'm supposed to be good with 3's and 6's but I feel the most comfortable around 7, my closest people have been 7, so either I'm mistyped or it is just a personal preference that doesn't go by the book.
    - when I'm off, I'm really *off*.
    - I can never cry to relieve stress like a healthy person, I just can't cry it takes so much to cry and when I do cry shit hit the fan so bad I'm paralyzed.
    - I withdraw probably more than a 5 unless I have one close connection that I feel keeps me invigorated to keep coming out of my cave.
    - Edit (changes this one): When I'm furious I have odd strength. Like, flipping a table would be like flipping a table and it goes flyyyyyying~unintentionally. It makes me think I should take up spear fighting.

    3) Agreed with @Pole Ninja 's point on having a good poker face, which prevents wrinkles too .
    4) Highly independent and pretty capable.
    5) People underestimate me and my depths since I'm not showy, which I can use to my advantage.

    Dislike:
    1) I am easily manipulated emotionally using anything cute, vulnerable, or fuzzy; essentially being an incredibly emotionally vulnerable person who externally appears as if they can take receiving harshness from others.
    2) More slow and lazy than 8w7 so getting fat easily.
    3) Things build up inside.
    4) Harder to relate to other women sometimes with this typing.
    5) Being accused of being cold, distant, and uncaring when I feel like I'm the exact opposite.

    Likes about 9w1:

Being positive outlook, and being able to see the good in many situations and people.

How easygoing healthy 9s can be, and I generally like other 9s.

    Good listeners

    Easygoing Nature

    Dislike:

There is a whole laundry list of things I dislike... I typed as 4w5 at first, then went with 5w4 for the longest time and was in denial of being a 9.

The notion that 9s have a bliindspot to self.

There are people who find high agreeableness, and finding points of agreement to be the most annoying possible trait in a person. This is a common sentiment I have come across in people. It's our way of connecting with others, and conflict causes a lot of anxiety for 9s, so it's a defense mechanism. Calling us out for this is a very very vulnerable area.

I have trouble expressing how I really feel, and part of it boils down to the above.

Based on the 9 description, the type isn't very much associated with creativity, or intelligence like say 4 or 5 is, and 9 typings are thrown around very easily in the typology community.

The assumption that high agreeableness equates to not having a mind of our own.

    The deadly sin being sloth.

It's hard to find good descriptions of attachment triad types. Chestnut's descriptions are pretty good though.

Being lost on solving conflicts, and leaving a lot unsettled.

I get to the point of explosion, and not knowing who to trust when I keep things bottled up for too long. I have trouble knowing how to express negative emotions with a lot of people.

    Problems with inertia

4- depth, creativity, can be self-revealing in a way that can inspire others, not afraid to face the dark, self-reflective and gaining much insight, appreciation and moved by beauty, quest for self/knowing self

self-absorbed, self-alienating, often focusing on the negative/too in touch with the dark side, chronic feelings of being misunderstood, deep pain and sensitivity, overly withdrawn, jealous nature, potentially issues with finding those to truly connect with, feeling ashamed, can also hide even positive aspects and talents and waste them, always waiting for when things feel right

I guess the one thing I dislike about my etype is not being able to come up with anything I particularly like or dislike about it. It just kinda is, and I don't care.

hm I can try I suppose

    dislike:

    being too passive in relationships
being judgmental and having standards that I don't really care to explain beforehand, either to others or myself
being involved in spacey dream land and then suddenly having to sprint to get things done, rather than operating consistently and methodically

    like:

i'm never really discontent with anything and can find something to be happy about, even in dark times
I offer supportive advice to friends and enemies alike, as progression is a global and shared "we" thing, not a me vs you thing
I can generally see when the atmosphere of a place is heading in a bad, dead end direction and needs some kind of violent revolution in the direction of optimism.

    Good:
    - Generally positive attitude, optimistic about chances of success
    - Use negativity to fuel ambition ("success is the best revenge")
    - I have the highest rate of growth / development of any of my friends
    - Generally do well at everything I attempt
    - Repeating what Darya said - I can cut ties easily. My identity is always shifting and I have the ability to leave behind that which isn't contributing to the new version of myself.
    - I think very carefully about the person I want to be and what steps I need to take to get there. I have transformations between my identities like music artists between albums haha.
    - I'm able to be approachable and likable to a range of people.

    Negative:
    - Sometimes I'll be having a good time (often an intimate scene) and I'll become aware that I'm acting and below the mask is nothing. Empty.
    - Worry about making long term ties to people / things / places because it will make it difficult for me to grow at the same rate
    - Sometimes will waste time on youtube tutorials ranging from make up skills to new best productivity technique etc. Spent so much time and money on online self betterment stuff.
    - Very competitive, overly sensitive to criticism.
    - If I don't think I'll succeed, I'll stop trying so that I don't have to face the feeling of failure.
    - Often will achieve the things I'm working towards and instead of feeling happy about it, I'll have a sense of "what do now?" because I always need something to be chasing something. Or I'll feel empty or feel a sense of impostor syndrome.

"I take back like half of the exclamation points.....they make me look....eager to please. Which I AM....but I don't want anyone to KNOW that"

    like:
-thank god for 7 otherwise i'd be such a serious person
-umm can't find any but i really don't mind it too much. anyway, complaining is more fun.

    dislike:
-so much internal tension it's crazy
-idealism and deep frustration completely permeates my life
-i doubt if i'll ever be satisfied with myself. but maybe 80 yr old me will have found how to be at peace
-very critical person (not so much on the outside but.. i fear other people may at times feel estranged by it if they sense it)
    -SO 4: chronic shame
-often internally disappointed by others due to impossibly high standards but i keep it to myself
-always feel like i'm waiting for something but.. your life is NOW!
-sometimes i revisit old times in my life and everything seemed great, but I remember that on the inside i was just as dissatisfied as always so.. what's the point of anything in life if i can't just be happy while it's happening.
