He's not much of a realist, lacks persistence and, while he enjoys fighting strong opponents, it's not for power. He's driven by arising opportunities and that which intrigues him, is exceptional in seeing talent and potential in others and the world, and is driven by the possibilities of fighting those with potential. doms like Gon and Leorio who are impulsive and live in the moment. Those two could obviously use some foresight from those who can see developing trends, know when to act and not act, as well as how far to go, and they'd be appreciative of it. Hisoka doesn't need someone like that.

I think we're looking at different Hisokas

One quote from the SEE domain really reminded me of Hisoka--"I want to get what I want". What Hisoka wants (and gets) is to indulge his desire for powerful opponents. He's a pretty unrealistic character, but his motivations center around achieving his desires.

I think the former is more in the domain of Hisoka and his orientation towards external objects is implicit rather than explicit. The latter is more obvious with Gon. Many make note of Gon's strong will. All his battles show that. Despite Hisoka's strength, I don't see him as strong willed or using force and will to get what he wants. He is much more mental than physical. He uses wit and has this fickleness to him, in the sense that he can and will easily get himself out of stale or unpleasant situations with the usage of emerging opportunities/possibilities around him. His focus is more on seeking out talented opponents- those with potential- rather than powerful ones. In his fight against Gon, he was basically orgasming about the beautiful prospect of fighting Gon once he reaches his full potential, tuning out of that physical moment while Gon's whaling on him. Ne isn't his role, it drives him and, while he is crazy, he doesn't go overboard in the present moment like Gon, you know?

At the very least, I see him as an extraverted intuitive and Gon an extraverted sensor.

DEATH NOTE:

Light: LIE-Ni. His character kind of changes a bit after the first few episodes, same with L. Through the majority he demonstrated Ni creative. Could make an arguement for EIE but he doesn't seem showy or stylistic enough for that. More ruthlessly efficient.

L: ILI-Te. Raised in an orphanage explains odd social skills. Irrational. Tactical. Always making moves and adjusting to Light. No long term strategy like N. Began to question chasing Light even when 99 percent sure it was him. Kept delaying simply prosecuting light because he was fascinated by him (process type). Powerful kinship with Light but nobody takes the initiative to be closer. Light focused on Ni creative vision. L focused on Te creative methods, deployed dynamically to capture light. Could both read eachother's moves but still surprise eachother by the slight difference in ego function priorities. Both played the same game (same quadra) and accepted each others moves as valid. Lack of focus on diet or health (Si role). No Fe whatsoever.

N: LII-Ti. Strategist. Long term plan. Alpha tendencies with toys and weird persona. Not afraid to execute long term plan and have faith in the planning (Rational with Ni demonstrative based on Ti assumptions). Direct extinguishment to Light. Both unimpressed by each others methods as they represent opposing quardas and each other's unvalued strong functions.

DBZ:

Goku - ESE. Jovial, fun loving, big focus on the group. Goofy in an alpha way. Lacking Se ego edge. Able to demonstratively kick some ass. Seemed more like an SEE in Dragonball and more like an ESE in DBZ.

ChiChi - ESI-Se. Obsessed with well being of family. Scared of Ne possibilities. Would kick your ass openly if possible. Introverted.

Piccolo - LSI.....

Vegeta - SLE-Ti. BETA EXTROVERT FOR SURE. Chose SLE because of how active he was in attmepting to rule. Compare to Freeza who liked to use cronies for everything and never fight unless he truly had to. Also relatively impulsive and seems more Fi PoLR in relation to Bulma than Fi ignoring. Always rooted for him over Goku.

Bulma - SEE. Impulsive, pushy, acting before thinking. Always expressing her opinion (fi creative) on things. Loved her when I was a kid.

Master Roshi - ILE-Ne. I don't even think anyone would disagree with this. Obvious ILE is obvious.

Trunks - EIE-Ni. Young, edgy, showy, vegetas kid. Persona. Big sword and artsy super saiyan look. Reserved but very passionate. Has a vision. Him and Goku got along pretty well too. They both wanted the best for their groups, Goku was soft about it and Trunks was edgy and maybe a little broody (typical EIE)

Freeza - EIE-Ni. The ultimate EIE. Powerful, in charge, passionate, Se hidden agenda. Plenty of cronies. Will not fight unless have to, even seemed a little unconfident doing it. Whimsical. Vision of universe under his control.

Android 16 - LIE-Te. Cool, No Fi (suggestive). Emotionless.

Android 17 - EIE-Ni. Kinda liked this evil bastard.

I always considered Hisoka a very obvious ILE. Of the perverse, trollish, sadist variety.

Hunter x Hunter is very Gamma-centric, though.

Do you mean socionic or non-socionic yielding? Can't fit either though. Did you subtract the "noble fine mannered lady" image/characteristics?

There is no "should" for all even conflictors to irritate one another when not having to actually interact with each other.

I think ESI for the other girl and maybe LSE for the friend.

What type would the girl from Spirited Away be? Or I'm assuming it's probably not considered an anime by all the fanatics since it hasn't already been mentioned?

I've never actually watched it. I just found the illustrations pretty and listen to the soundtrack every once in a while.

Chihiro its probably too child to get a type imo and the movie doesnt show that much. however i can see some fe element on her and a mix of si and ni, probably irrational. the movie dont focus in the character itself (like most the Ghibli's movie), it focus in the transition from childhood into adulthood and themes like japanese society,environmentalism and more. the whole movie is NiFe.

And you should watch it!
