Tom Waits
This is one of those musicians who seem popular with a certain crowd mostly because he somehow is considered as cool, rather than because of any musical talent - imo lol. I know an LSE who really loves him and an ESE who also likes him a lot. I have listened to a few of his songs, but i never could get what the hype was all about.
I have a couple of ideas on his type, but won't say anything yet so as to not influence others on it. Can you please comment on his type? Thanks.

He's very likely an LSI-Se. Reminiscent of James Dean and Che Guevara, all of them had that "cool", quiet and masculine appearance in interviews. You can see they have similar smiles in pictures too.
He seems like someone I would feel very uncomfortable around. I read his quotes on the internet and as a weak guess I would suggest a Te Ni type. But on this one Idk. LIE-Ni is a guess.

I think Tom Waits is ILE. Almost a classic of the type.
Now tell me, is this guy an LIE Victim, or is he an Infantile looking for an older Caregiver?

Yeah that kind of makes sense to me. The only other type I consider for him is LII. He has that blocky shifting perspective vibe of turning things on their heads that seems like HP. Maybe that's just his act, though, or the Ti itself.
The sx in his character could make him seem Se-oriented.
Dean's behavior had some of the same autistic introvert oddity often associated with Ti, but he was a bit smoother in presentation, which is usually more characteristic of evolutionary types.
He's actually pretty talented. He's weird, yeah, and quite a bit different from most other musical artists. But he is hands down a lot better than all the major pop artists. That's not saying they're necessarily bad, but he does some things that are pretty original I think, and they work. Taste means not everyone will like his style, but if you look at what he does "objectively," he knows what he's doing.

Ne-valuing & 6w5 imo. I've seen him being typed as LII and also met an IEE who was into his music, but his type isn't quite crystallizing for me.

He is definitely Ti/Fe valuing, could somebody explain why they see him as Se/Ni valuing?
