    Default ILI or LII?

I tried to figure out my type for a long time on my own, but I'm too split on literally everything. My perception of myself would probably be the poster child of INTx, but I'm not settling with that, so here I am. I shall thus do the thing I like a lot, answering open ended questions in a free form method. Oh yeah, if anyone says not ILI or LII, then that is fine. Thank you for reading this.

    Tell me about yourself.

I like to think I am a pretty interesting person, albeit boring. I tend to sit about and do my thing. I go to the gym when my dad tells me to and such.

What do you study or do for a living? How did you come to do that? What do you like or dislike about it?

I'm currently unemployed and on vacation, but I'm a computer science major at a community college. I didn't really do well in school, and thus decided it would be best to go to a cheap school while I find out what I want to do. I've tried business, psychology, and now I'm on computer science.

What are your values, and why?

I value knowledge. I believe that knowledge is the gateway to other things you want.

What else do you do on a daily basis? What are your interests and hobbies? Why do you do them?

I tend to play games. I also watch videos on the internet. I read things. It all constitutes surfing the web. I do it because of the enjoyment I get.

Describe your relations with family and friends. What do you like and dislike about them?

Well, my brother is kind of going through a rough time, and he takes it out on all of us. I don't know what the details entail, but that is what I see and hear. He can be kind of dumb. For example, he complained that I was using too much internet when it was likely the VPN he was using, the fact that our internet is slow, and luck.

What do you look for in friends? In romantic relationships?

I look for people who fit my moral standards, although I'm very open to pretty much anyone. This is for both, but I'm more picky when it comes to romantic relations. I'll try dating a person if they ask, but I tend to look for people who have similar intellectual interests as I do. I also like people who are willing to give advice and support. I also like tolerant people.

What conflicts have you encountered recently with other people? Why did they happen? Which kinds seem to happen on a regular basis?

Well, my mom wants me to get my dad to fix my car so I can get a job. My dad is running into issues with it though, he lost some of the tools required to fix it.

How would your friends describe you?

I don't know. I should ask them. Probably as a nerd. Not a weeb though, that already is a title taken by someone else and worn with pride.

What do people generally see as your strengths? What do you like about yourself?

I tend to be pretty knowledgeable and creative, and do not back down from a thinking problem until a more relevant one shows itself.

What are your weaknesses? What criticism do you often face from others? What do you dislike about yourself?

I tend to neglect personal hygiene. A lot. I have never been good at the physical side of things. I tend to drop things because I don't like doing them, and thus many projects are unfinished.

In what areas of life can you manage well on your own? In what areas of your life would you like help?

I am pretty at peace with myself. I do need a job though. I'd also like help amassing money out of very little.

What things do you find to be a chore? What things do you enjoy more than others?

Writing essays is not my favorite thing. I prefer writing fiction and free structure type stuff. I like to play games, but some games can be a chore. Especially those games where you know what you have to do, but it isn't working due to lack of skill. I like making music, which is a chore, but I do it anyways. Mostly really short concept pieces, but still. Finally, I like reading stuff on the web. I used to like reading it in books, but I exhausted all the books I'd like to read.

What goals, aspirations, or plans do you have for the future? How did you come to have them?

I want to make a game that is good enough to sell for profit. A secondary goal would be to write music that is popular enough to get praise. I'm ambivalent on whether I'd like to sell my music. I also would like to be some kind of leader. Finally, I'd like to have enough money/income to secure a decent quality of life, which means a job.

If you had enough money to live comfortably for the rest of your life without working, what would you do with your time?

I'd probably play a lot of games, watch a bunch of anime, write a book, make games, and that's it. Oh and I write and listen to music. Sometimes, I'll have whole days just dedicated to listening to music.

What traits do you find endearing that others might dislike? What traits are considered positive/neutral by others but tend to annoy you?

I like people with a lot of gumption. I also like people who are polite. I like people who prattle on about stories and such as well. Literally anything, as long as it is interesting.

What kinds of things do you do to manage and/or beautify your environment (your room, your house, etc.)? What do you think of daily chores?

My main task is to take care of the dogs mid day when my dad isn't around. That really just means to walk them around the block and let them out to go to the bathroom on the front lawn. They can be a handful though, one dog eats whatever he can get a hold of, and tends to drink too much, too fast, sometimes puking from a combination of the two. I also feed them at 5:30-6:30, whenever I remember.

How do you behave around strangers?

I tend to shy away from them unless I don't already have a group of friends in the area, or we seem to share like interests.

How do you react to conflict? What do you do if somebody insults or attacks you?

I respond to conflict readily with my words. If someone was to attack me physically, I'd probably yield.

What is one common misconception that people have? Explain why it is wrong.

I don't know. The easy one is that WW1 was a static war. It was a pretty dynamic struggle to deal with rapid innovations, and deal with a burgeoning logistical issue that dealt with wars of that size. Another one is that the generals were all incompetent. Especially on the German side, they had the best military staff on the continent, which lead to rapid gains in early 1914 that almost lead to the capture of Paris. When Paris capitulates, usually France follows. Even the tactics were not foreign to the powers. Trenches have been used since Napoleon's time. The real reason why these myths are popular is because there was little gains in territory for every live lost. To that I say, they were only using infantry and cannons. It was a symmetric war, for the most part, and these things take time. You should have seen the thirty years war, which lasted a longer time.

What did you do last Friday?

I went to a concert for Brad Paisley with my dad. I don't really listen to country, but it was pretty good. I enjoyed it. Then I worked on getting a Japanese game working on my computer.

    What is your biggest accomplishment?

I got a poem published in a book. Yeah, I've lived a pretty sheltered life.

    What is something you regret?

    Not being more social.

Who do you admire, and why?

FDR, Lincoln, Teddy, Jefferson, Rommel, Lennin, Lenin, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Beethoven, Einstein, Tesla, and a bunch of other famous people. The presidents I have selected are very influential, and also very successful. Lennin is John Lennin, I like his music and read a comic about his life. Interesting stuff. Vladimir Lenin was the leader of the Soviet Union before Stalin. He is a very interesting person who supposedly worked all day unceasingly. He was pretty kind to his subordinates. He started a gradual conversion to a collectivized economy. He was a dictator, but it was argued at that time that the Soviet Union needed a dictator.

What's been on your mind? Has anything been worrying or concerning you? What problems have you encountered lately?

Well, the future is going to be statistically better, if trends continue, but I'm at that stage of life where I need to prepare for education. I'm getting to the point where most people are out working with a bachelor while I still don't have an associates degree.

What are your religious or spiritual beliefs and why do you hold them?

I am an agnostic. I don't really care about religion. I do care about the supernatural, and in my studies I have come to the conclusion that if you believe, your emotional state will change to reflect that. There is more, but I'm not going to write a book on it. Yet.

What are your political beliefs, and why? To what extent do you care about politics?

I am mostly anti-Trump. His methods of speaking are the exact thing I've come to abhor. It would be one thing if he was generally angry at these people, but he's not. And that is what gets me. He does have some solid plans, but execution is poor. Also, he tends to be on the side of breaking the traditions of the president-legislative relations. He seems to have a tendency to meddle with policies by enacting executive orders.

I am not against dictatorship or democracy. I feel as though whatever works is the best answer.

I subscribe to egalitarian, utilitarian, and socialist views on distribution of materials. IE, I want everyone to get everything they need. As a minor priority, I'd like for sustainability, although situationally that moves up to top priority. For example, in China, they are running out of clean water. As such, I'd probably shut down businesses that pollute water.

Would you ever be interested in starting a business? Why or why not? What role would you play in it? What kind of business would it be?

Yes. In fact, I even have a game all about that. Capitalism Labs. I had Capitalism II, but I lost the file. I'd also like to help start my friends game development company. I'd probably need some external help, because I am terrible with these sorts of economic decisions, or at least I perceive myself to be. I'd be more on the lines of a guy who does general grand strategy decisions, for example, we want to sell these games for cheap so everyone can afford them, IE $20 or less, and build the company around that. I might latter consider creating a more expensive game, but it will not be to take money from the people, it will be because I expect it to be more expensive to cover costs.

What kind of work environment do you prefer? What do you look for in a job?

I would like something easy, rewarding, and high paying. In other words, I'm probably going to try and write stuff, which is the opposite of what I want. Currently, I'm set to learn to write computer code. My history with it is kind of meh, but we'll see. My final fall back is to learn music, which I already know a lot about, but mastery is but a title, and you can always get better. Not that I even have the title.

What is or was your favorite school subject and why?

I used to say social studies, but now, it is music. Discrete math was also fun, for a more recent thing.

How do you approach responsibility? What do you tend to expect of others?

I expect people to hold their end of a bargain, but I'm a push over if they don't. I still remember there is a person I know who owes me $5 from high school. I never bothered to ask, it is $5. I'm like that way for bigger things as well, and it is probably not good. My personal responsibility is lacking, as I tend to shirk off things that my future depends on. Namely school.

Where did you go on your most recent vacation? What did you do there? How did you like it and why?

Maryland, to first to my uncle's house, then to my other uncle's house. They live around DC. It was nice. My other uncle was in Europe with his family, but my grandfather stayed home. My grandfather is an interesting person. He wrote several books, and gave us a bunch of copies for free. I still have to finish them, but so far they are interesting. He kind of wrote them as variety books. One was about Egypt, and the other one is about Trump. Apparently, I have a relative who was an Archaeologist in the late 19th century.

What were you like as a kid? How have you changed since you were a child?

I was the quiet kid who did not talk in class ever, because it was against the rules. I also tended to not talk even when it wasn't against the rules, but hey. I decided in Kindergarten that I would be a good person, and focus on learning as much as I could. I also figured that people would say hi to me if they were really good people. I have met some good people that way, but now my reasoning is that more good people can't go out of their way to meet someone that doesn't show initiative.

What was your high school experience like?

I sat there drawing geometric patterns, sometimes with graph paper. I even made a game around it. That is when my interest in game design began. Marching band was the highlight I think, I learned trumpet then changed to tuba. It was also when I was most fit, due to gym class, although now I'm getting back into it.

Talk about a significant event from your life.

I was afraid of heights, so my parents said they'd get me something if I went up the stairs on two legs. I did it, and they got me a game console. The first video game console I got was a lime-green Game Boy Color. I got Pokemon Blue for the first game I played. It lead me to where I am now.

Do you like kids? Why or why not?

Yes. I like them because they are generally kind and understanding, and best of all, like games. I generally get along with them, for whatever reason. No idea why.

If you were to raise a child, what would be your main concerns, what measures would you take, and why?

My main concern would be the child's personality. I've seen a lot of people who are very disrespectful, and I don't like it. Second, I'd like for the child to be a curious person through the end. I believe that I am smart because I like learning, and thus would like to instill a like of learning into them. This should lead to a better life. Third, I'd like to see them taken care of. I don't care how or who, but their well being is my priority. Well being includes happiness, which I define as the fulfillment of psychological needs. This can include exercise, but I don't force other people to do what I don't. Part of why if I was going to run for president, I'd get someone to make me fit and healthy. That is a tangent, but it is one that I tend to think about a bunch for whatever reason.

Ever feel stuck in a rut? If yes, describe the causes and your reaction to it.

I feel as though I have very little to do that contributes to the world at the moment. That should change when I start working, I hope.

How do you see other people as a whole? What do you consider a prevalent social problem? Name one.

So, I tend to think of people in the manner they act. As such, if you are very eager, then I'll probably not like that. I do like people who are kind of mellow though. I don't like people who do not respond. I believe the water crisis and over consumption are big issues, along with mismanaging of the economy, but that one I have no clue how to solve or if there even still is a problem. The situation in China, the Middle East, and North Korea are bad. That thing in Chechnya, where homosexual people started disappearing is bad.

What do you do if you're not getting what you want? What approach do you use?

I tend to approach the idea that if I don't get something, oh well. I'll keep it in mind, and probably get it when I have the chance, although my list of things that I want is already obscenely large. I also take any gift, although I was told that credit cards are dangerous, and thus not to use them. I have a similar attitude to loans, but sometimes you need to spend more money than you have to survive.

Are you comfortable taking leadership roles? In what areas? Why or why not?

Yes. I tend to be in favor of directing policy. I have a strong code of ethics that is based upon self imposed social conditioning. I'd have to go all Freudian on you and explain my childhood, and even then, this is but my perception. It could be for other reasons. Anyways, I also enjoy dictating policy. I remember the DOS game "Hidden Agenda". It was about building a nation. I've been looking for such a gem for a long time. The first time I played, I established a very decent democracy. The only issue I had was that I went to the bank an extra time because I misclicked. I also enjoy delegation, as it means practically free money for no effort. Finally, I'd love to be a game designer, where you write the mechanics of a game and other people make it. I tend to be into making pen and paper RPGs. Not so much the settings, more the mechanics. I try to keep my games flexible so they can be used with any setting. This also makes them quite non-specific, focusing on general numbers than actual physics equations. I might make an expansion to another of them

How often do you get angry? What kinds of things make you angry?

Well, I tend to not like being snubbed. It is surprising how many people do this to you, and how often you do it to them.

What is the best thing that happened to you during the past week?

Hrrm, it is 7:30 on a Monday, so I'll do last week. I got a game running. Took a while, because I had to do some mildly shady stuff with it. It is a region-locked Japan only game, so I had to get a VPN, and set my time to Japan time. As such, by 7:30, I mean 7:30 in Japan.

What is the worst thing that happened to you during the past week?

Well, I sat through the downloading of that game for several days straight. It wasn't worth it, to be honest, but at least now I have it.

What is the purpose of life? What do you find personally meaningful in life?

The purpose of life is undefined. As such, I've taken to defining it as striving for happiness. I got all metaphysical about it for a while, too. I think I'll be happy if I'm successful, respected, and well liked.

What is the most interesting place you have been, and why?

Probably the hospital. I wish I talked to the people there more, but I didn't.

How do you dress or manage your appearance?

I pick a shirt and pants. They are either long sleeve or short sleeve, or mix. I wear short sleeve when it is hot, long sleeve when it is cold, and mix in the fall, when it is temperate, or when I am wearing something over my shirt, like a jacket or fleece. Sometimes I wear polos, otherwise I wear t-shirts.

    Do you like surprises?

    Yes, but good surprises.

Is there anything else important about you that we should know?

I guess I can say that I've played a ton of games, and thus have a pretty good knowledge of games. Finally,
I do not know my IQ for certain, but the free internet tests have said from 120-140, although I believe I got a 112 once.

I've found some music I like, which includes Proclamation by Gentle Giants, America by Yes, Blue Jay Way by the Beatles, Rocky Raccoon by the Beatles, The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill by the Beatles, Piggies by the Beatles, Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd, Totentanz by Franz Liszt, Funeral March of a Marionette by Gounod, and so on and so forth. A lot of Beatles. I also like most music from the Kirby games because nostalgia. The Pokemon music was good at the time, but now I'm kind of out of it. I also liked Queen, but I'm kind of out of that as well. Not bad music, my first album was Queen's greatest hits volume 1 on the iPod 3.

Hopefully this is enough information to go off of. I can also give more information if needed.

I did format it differently, but it kind of got messed up when I copied and pasted. Oh well.

    @Alomoes:

You're in the same boat where I used to be. I know it's hard, take your time.

From my point of view, I think that LII works slightly better than ILI.

There is evidence for Ti-Ne over Ni-Te:

"I tend to be pretty knowledgeable and creative, and do not back down from a thinking problem until a more relevant one shows itself."

"I like to play games, but some games can be a chore. Especially those games where you know what you have to do, but it isn't working due to lack of skill."

Specifically, I think that Ne Creative fits better than Te Creative. I mean, you prefer games where you have to play "creatively" more than "efficiently", or at least it's what I get. Your Ne seem particularly strong, meaning that you could be a LII-Ne.

"I tend to shy away from them unless I don't already have a group of friends in the area, or we seem to share like interests."

This is very common in Fe Seeking types. I can very much relate to it, as a LII.

"I respond to conflict readily with my words. If someone was to attack me physically, I'd probably yield."

This could be linked to Se PoLR.

Finally, you seem very much Alpha (LII) and definitely not Gamma (ILI).

I think LII. Maybe LII-Ne. But you know yourself more than I do, so take it with a grain of salt.

If you find it interesting, read how I decided between LII and ILI in my blog.

    Hope it helps.

Actually I came to rethink of that. Your profile picture clearly points towards ESI. Even the fact that you like videogames is a clear sign of Introverted Ethics, you can switch personality to play all the roles you want when you play, this is Fi. Just like the avatar is Fi because we all know it, communism is a piece of heart. ESI.

Even I agree. The icon is part of a grossly exaggeration of my personality I'm trying to spread about myself, along with the name, and it is working, apparently.

You are probably right about myself masking my personality, which is why I typed as INFp initially. I was very split back then, and often put the answer as don't care/irrelevant, usually being in the middle or something. It is because I figured I applied to both or had no distinct preference. You'll note how I didn't really describe any preferences, but more on what I did. Still, I'm going to go with LII, because honestly, it makes too much sense. I looked at the sub types, and now see that I relate. ESI does make sense, but upon reading the definition, I think I know someone who fits that definition better.

An optimist - does not get discouraged under any circumstances. Life upheavals and stressful events only toughen him and make more confident. He likes to laugh and entertain people. Enters contact with someone by involving him with a humorous remark. His humor is often sly and contain hints and double meanings. Easily enters into arguments and bets, especially if he is challenged. When arguing his points is often ironic, ridicules the views of his opponent. His irritability and hot temper may be unpleasant to others. However, he himself is not perceptive of this and believes that he is simply exchanging opinions.

I type as ILI as well and I like his profile picture & I like video games, would that make me an ESI too? if you haven't noticed ILI is Fi-valuing type

but seriously how did you come up with the fact that liking video games is a sign of Fi? are you saying that Fi-polrs won't be the least interested in video games?

@Simo, I don't know about you, you should make a test your own.

(Even, I was kidding, because of all the random self-typings that I see going on in here lately. I knew LIIs, and I think ILIs too, wouldn't make a fuss about a random typing like that, because they're usually not bothered by the silly world, and are among the most mature people out there, talking in general.)

I typed you LIIs first because I saw many points in common with me (INFP), and I tend to get LIIs results as well but I can't function like that on a daily basis. It's so true though, I always tend to put average scores such as "who knows/ who cares" when the questions go in that direction, and that's pretty much my daily life philosophy, although it's not a "who cares", but rather -everything has its own characteristics, we should see the whole context before judging-, and that's what makes me score as INFP most of the times.

The ESI was a joke, was glad to see you so open to new views ;p

I think I need an emotion detector to tell me when someone is kidding, angry, hurt, annoyed, etc

could be but I think it is more related to the fact that in posts we get words only without other non-verbal stuff like tone, body language, etc
of course there are exceptions like @Chae who can give life to words (though I haven't seen her express negative emotions yet)

For me it's subconscious, not my primary focus. I'm always surprised hearing that oh...! I express everything vividly, according to others. Yes, I try to keep it positive as good as I can.

No problem, I got what I needed.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phrenology

An optimist - does not get discouraged under any circumstances. Life upheavals and stressful events only toughen him and make more confident. He likes to laugh and entertain people. Enters contact with someone by involving him with a humorous remark. His humor is often sly and contain hints and double meanings. Easily enters into arguments and bets, especially if he is challenged. When arguing his points is often ironic, ridicules the views of his opponent. His irritability and hot temper may be unpleasant to others. However, he himself is not perceptive of this and believes that he is simply exchanging opinions.
