Thank you. It was in response to Ryu's exclamations over my sharing.

You look like you were a cute, alert little baby Minde .

Here is a photo of myself as a baby. My mother often says that I was her most difficult baby out of all her 7 daughters. When asked why, she says the others were easy as they just ate, drank, slept and didn't mind being held by others whereas I was inquisitive, in my own world and shy.

When I was born I had jaundice, and the treatment the doctors ordered was to put me in a bassinet/box with a special light and basically just leave me there with no clothes so the light could soak into me until I improved. Obviously they would feed me and clean up after me, but for my first month or so that's how I lived. (There's actually some minor family drama surrounding it, but that's a story for later, haha.) I suspect having less human physical contact during that time might have had an effect on me, if not now then at least when I was little, because for a long time I was not very cuddly and would shy away from to much hugging or affection. I had other quirks, too, but my mother isn't around currently for me to ask about them.

You were a cute baby. And you do look quietly independent in that picture.

You know, I've been wondering a bit about something.

There's a lot of talk about human beings are so complex and so diverse and amazing that how could you ever suppose to fit them into 16 different boxes?

...well,

part of me very much feels that yes, human beings are actually not that unbelievably complicated. It's almost disenchanting, really. But I don't think it would be well received - talk like that - here on this forum or in most people with an interest in 'psychology'.

I never perceived humans as complex, as they rarelly if ever surprise me. However I do consider them diverse to make it difficult to peg everyone into 16 types, simply due to the reason cultural differences are so vast and personal experiences can affect so much of what we are that socionics cant explain everything. If socionics were true I would not have the friends I have (I have them in every quadra) etc. which is not the case. Maybe it does work for some people, but not for me and even if Im totally different type than what I type myself it would still be true.

But... I don't think socionics says you can't have friends in quadras, etc. I think people have extrapolated a lot of things, like the profiles - like Straty's profiles that say things like Stirtlitz is oriented towards the idealistic ethical system of his dual - are sort of.... trying to paint pictures.

At least, that's how I see socionics. What socionics says is people have different arrangements of information elements. The end. it doesn't say you must marry your dual to be happy, it doesn't say your relationships with your conflictor are always doomed.

If it does then I don't believe in socionics, because that isn't true for me. but to me that's not what socionics is about.

The stability and effectiveness of the new rules w

Sometimes I wish I could be numb, could cut out my heart so to speak; but then I consider that all feeling, even pain, is a sign that I am alive. Would I really want to be someone with a hard and untouchable heart? (The answer to that rhetorical question is "no".)


Sometimes the command to forgive "up to seventy times seven" gets a little wearisome to me. It feels like I've gone the extra mile and then some.



Most of you probably don't care much, and I guess complaining doesn't do much other than promote wallowing, but atm I seek even marginal sympathy. If nothing else, I hereby reach out with a missive of empathy to all else who have been or are similarly hurt.

Reading your post makes me sad. I know exactly what you mean. Forgiveness is better any day of the week, despite if its deserved or not. I guess its a 'seventy times seven' deal, we fall so much, others do to. If we forgive, we are forgiven in a way. I get angry to, but i dont want to be, so instead i cry. It helps a little. But i know numbness, and its worse than pain. I wouldnt want that on anyone . It might be easier to not care, but i know you wouldnt want that deep down. Sometimes losing things and hurting is a type of growing and learning. Get up every day even when you dont feel like it and just keep living - thats wise words form a great ENFp friend i have. Very true, very real. I care. Even if i dont know you, i care. I hope it gets better for you.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles, Minde. I think a forgiving and loving heart is one of the most precious things in existence. It's so easy to feel like people are stealing a piece of you every time they wrong you. Later, I realized that forgiveness and love in the face of opposition actually lets your heart grow. In these sort of times, I'll often sit and meditate for a moment, and let that feeling of growth circulate and encompass my entire body. I hope things improve for you soon.

Probably not. It seems to be very unappealing, especially to NFs.

It's what they don't like about people like me; I can make my heart untouchable. It's consequences are not ideal, though.


...but you expressing your discontent, that's something you perhaps could be better at. It shouldn't come out always as personal sorrow or woe. Or passivity and creating things to complain about that aren't really the case, as with some others.

Sometimes the best way to deal with something actually is the direct route, with "No" and "I don't like this" - with stating what your wants are.
