    @ Drommel:
Haha, not bad. I actually don't like most of rap music, especially this gangster and p.i.m.p. stuff. But despite my expectation there is also rap with some decent lyrics.

I found this one quite funny, too:
„Man can do what he wants but he cannot want what he wants.“

I tend to like a wide variety of music depending on my mood, what is going on with me, and what I feel like listening to. There is very little I won't listen to.

I totally dig what has been said about trumpets a while back^^

also anything highly symphonic, and most slightly psychadelic pieces represent gamma at least in my experience.

Richard Wagner - The Ride Of The Valkyries

    Kalkbrenner - Gebrunn Gebrunn

    Saint Germain - So Flute

Kruder & Dorfmeister - Bug Powder Dust

Research suggests a correlation between the way someone feels or prefers to feel and music preference (direction of causality is still unclear). Here are my (messy) notes from a lecture I sat in on discussing the relationship between music and personality:

Quote Originally Posted by Messy Notes on Lecture

Exhibit more emotional and assertive problems and antisocial! =)
Conversely, liking light music and shown to be overly responsible, rule-conscious, and conforming in their relationships.
Listening to eclectic music means having best personality.

Music preferences: music themes can be a way to communicate inner issues and feelings. Also provides individuals with a safe context to explore a sense of self. Can align themselves with peer groups who have similar identiies.

Uses and Gratification Theory: assumes that individuals are not passive but take an active role in interpreting and integrating media into their lives. Our choice of music is because of particular personality characterists or needs are linked to music listeners. Of 7-8 activities, music was found to be the most important lifestyle and leisure activity. Music preferences were believed to reveal more information about themselves compared to the other activities. (Good counterpoint: How would you even answer that question anyway?) Thought that music preferences weren't as important as hobbies to understand other people.

Reflective and Complex: blues, jazz, classical, folk
Intense and Rebellious: rock, alternative, heavy metal - openness, athletic, self-perceived intelligent, verbal, curious, enjoy taking risks (not related to neuroticism)
Upbeat and Conventional: country, religious, ... - conservative, cheerful, attractive, agreeable
Energetic and Rhytmic: dance music, etc. - agreeable, liberal, attractive, talkative, full of energy

Music's negative effects: observations have shown a large amount of adolescents with problems listen to negative lyrics
listening to specifically heavy metal means history of psychological problems

Depressed prefer popular/country music, not heavy music

How is any of this helpful!? Well, music listening reflects personalities and developmental issues with whic h they are dealing. Strong music prefernces could possibly cause greater self-exploration and influence one's self-awareness.
Hopefully that'll give you some leads if you are interested in researching it yourself.

That seems more like Si to me -- noticing all those fine details like that. It'd be Se by Jung functions, but not Socionics elements.
What do these signs mean—, , etc.? Why cannot socionists use symbols Ne, Ni etc. as in MBTI? Just because they have somewhat different meaning. Socionics and MBTI, each in its own way, have slightly modified the original Jung's description of his 8 psychological types. For this reason, (Ne) is not exactly the same as Ne in MBTI.

Just one example: in MBTI, Se (extraverted sensing) is associated with life pleasures, excitement etc. By contrast, the socionic function (extraverted sensing) is first and foremost associated with control and expansion of personal space (which sometimes can manifest in excessive aagression, but often also manifests in a capability of managing lots of people and things).

For this reason, we consider comparison between MBTI types and socionic types by functions to be rather useless than useful.

They strike me as extroverted, clearly ego and logical, and they're Randroids (objectivism being a very Gamma NT relig-- err, ideology). They could conceivably be ILI-Te though, or IEI with way too much Ti.

You could be mistaking with , I mean, I'm all for fantasy RPGs and medieval idealism, but imagery is the timeless representation of reality. In contrast to an abstract and imagined reality culled from creative sensory details. Ni would not imagine worlds such as LotR, because the physical elements do not exist to be captured through extraverted sensing. Additionally, I associate Ayn Rand more with LIIs than I do ILIs. Te is related to objectivity being external, but Ti reasoning eliminates personal favoritism.

I've posted this once before but I've just realized this is the ultimate ILI/Gamma song. / by imagery and sonic atmosphere. / by lyrical themes.

The song opens up with about 50 seconds of emergence and repeating notes, then nearly 2 minutes in kicks it in into high gear with driving riffs and heavy drumming. The vocals start at about 2 and a half minutes with the guy speaking in an intimate voice with echo effects. Coupled with psychedelic riffs, the rest of the song continues in this format.

The lyrics create the themes of space, technology, purpose, communication/meaning(life), darkness, exploration, desperation and danger; apparently referencing Quest For Fire.

Ahah yeah SEE makes sense. I typed him as some type of resolute extravert, so either EIE or SEE, but he seems less emotionally composed when compared to the avearge SEE. I've seen them live they're even better than in the vids
