I said because I saw all the videos from this topic and almost all of them are from 80'-90' (even 70'). Anway, I didn't said in bad tone, old stuff still great.Originally Posted by Logos

In addition to the aesthetic sound, I like classic rock because I usually get a wider growth of musical styles and I already have their full catalog of albums available and do not have to worry about waiting for release dates. And then I try to find obscure indie that way I can stay ahead of the curve a bit.Originally Posted by Bionicgoat

An Alpha song about chillin' out and such . It has the genius lyrics:
which then becomes part of the backing track of the song .I just keep repeating myself...

In the distance
Creeping closer
Have no fear
Land in anguish
We escape it
In our rocket
Propelled spaceship
Take a shine of our lazer beam
And we'll cleanse all the evil within you

Human being
Human doing
Human error
Human terror
Human nature
Human hate you
Human crying
Human leaving
Take a shine of our lazer beam
And we'll cleanse all the evil within you

We will conquer utopia in space chariots
Take a shine of our lazer beam
And we'll cleanse all the evil within you

Point it to the sky
Point your random finger
Come on and testify
Human kind loves money
We just love to fly

So point your random finger
Why on earth would 311 be Delta? Totally Fe. "Don't Tread On Me" is totally Si values with Se role. "Beautiful Disaster" is about an ILE girl. And they're all about pothead culture, which is undeniably Alpha if you know anything about it.Originally Posted by hkkmr

Sing Songs Along - Tilly and the Wall

We'll wake up your mothers, we'll start a commotion
We'll take you apart, we'll swallow the ocean
And just when you've labeled us one of your types
We'll fly our flag right up up out of your sky
So puff out your chest in some weird dusty fight
We're taking no part in your cracked antique life
We're believing everything that we have heard
We're taking our turn with the kids that don't learn
You know I'm going to take my turn
Let us be free, let us sing songs along
The bottoms of barrels, let us be free!
So out come you clowns, all you wolves, all you martyrs
You holy rat rattlers, holy fat fathers
We're selling ourselves so ourselves can find
We're living at night trying to pull out the light
We'll turn up the heat as we burn up you boxes
We'll loosen our wrists as we fill in your foxholes
You've got your bad apples to ruin your bunch
Oh we're all right here so you better eat up
Oh yeah, there's nothing you can do
Let us be free, let us sing songs along,
The bottoms of barrels, let us be free!
If you want me here, you can have me here
If you want me now, you can have me now
If you want me down, I will get really low
You better believe I'll be down by your shoes
If you want it all, you can have it all
If you want some more, come and get some more
'Cause the dirt feels good when you're underground
You better believe that we're all getting down
You know that us feral kids love straying about
So start giving in, yeah you better get down
Let us be free, let us sing songs along
The bottoms of barrels, let us be free!
Let! (Let!)
Us! (Us!)
Be! (Be!)
Free! (Free!)

oh man I miss that show soooo much!
Torgo FTW!
virtually all ska is alpha... oh and GWAR on a very twisted level is alpha and though I didn't really think about it before I'm pretty sure tool is somewhat alpha on a level.
Others (of my opinion) include:
The Beatles
Big D and the Kids Table
Bomb the Music Industry!
The Flaming Lips
The Hives
The Mad Caddies
maybe the Mars Volta
Modest Mouse
NOFX
Operation Ivy
The Pillows (definitely, FLCL much anyone?)
Streetlight Manifesto
The Violent Femmes
Some of you will probably disagree with me on a few of those, but I think at least one song by each one of those bands is alpha. I guess I don't listen to much alpha music...
Male INTJ
The Beatles are probably Gamma. An Alpha classic rock band of that era would be more along the lines of The Who.

Lightning Seeds - Pure

Night time slows, raindrops splash rainbows
Perhaps someone you know, could sparkle and shine
As daydreams slide to colour from shadow
Picture the moonglow, that dazzles my eyes
And I love you
Just lying smiling in the dark
Shooting stars around your heart
Dreams come bouncing in your head
Pure and simple everytime
Now you're crying in your sleep
I wish you'd never learnt to weep
Don't sell the dreams you should be keeping
Pure and simple everytime
Dreams of sights, of sleigh rides in seasons
Where feelings not reasons, can make you decide
As leaves pour down, splash autumn on gardens
As colder nights harden, their moonlit delights
And I love you
Just lying smiling in the dark
Shooting stars around your heart
Dreams come bouncing in your head
Pure and simple everytime
Now you're crying in your sleep
I wish you'd never learnt to weep
Don't sell the dreams you should be keeping
Pure and simple everytime
Look at me with starry eyes
Push me up to starry skies
There's stardust in my head
Pure and simple everytime
Fresh and deep as oceans new
Shiver at the sight of you
I'll sing a softer tune
Pure and simple over you
If love's the truth then look no lies
And let me swim around your eyes
I've found a place I'll never leave
Shut my mouth and just believe
Love is the truth I realize
Not a stream of pretty lies
To use us up and waste our time
Lying smiling in the dark
Shooting stars around your heart
Dreams come bouncing in your head
Pure and simple everytime
Now you're crying in your sleep
I wish you'd never learnt to weep
Don't sell the dreams you should be keeping
Pure and simple everytime
Look at me with starry eyes
Push me up to starry skies
There's stardust in my head
Pure and simple everytime
Fresh and deep as oceans new
Shiver at the sight of you
I'll sing a softer tune
Pure and simple over you
Pure and simple just for you

normal brought something up about britpop or something, so that brings up:
What kind of music genres do the SEI/ISFP type prefer?
I personally go for the Industrial/electronic genres, but I'm up for anything except rap/country.

Ok, this is my favourite thread.
I live all kind of music, but it depend of my mood. Anyway, my favourite genre were/are with some band:
-Britpop (Blur above all)
-Post-Rock (i don't know if it is the proper name but, I like mogwai, mono, explosion in the sky, Tortoise, Godspeed you black emperor and 64daysofstatic)
-post-hardcore (glassjaw, at the drive-in first album, thursday)
-nintendocore or... whatever, everthing that sounds like playing nintendo (HORSE the band, Enter Shikari)
- some electronic-disco-trance band (pet shop boys, ace of base, la bouche)
-Alt. rock (dave matthews band, Live, Smashink pumpkins, The cranberries)
-Indie (Low, Yo la tengo, Cat power)
there's a lot of other bands that I like but not properly the genre at all. For example, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Danny Elfman, Luna Sea, and a lot of more.
You familiar with Pelican, Red Sparowes, or The Appleseed Cast ('low level owl' era)?Originally Posted by normal
