Give them time to grow up and get out of highschool a bit more, be a bit more of a man. Like our resident ESTp role model.
Posts I wrote in the past contain less nuance.
If you're in this forum to learn something, be careful. Lots of misplaced toxicity.

~an extraverted consciousness is unable to believe in invisible forces.
~a certain mysterious power that may prove terribly fascinating to the extraverted man, for it touches his unconscious.

Do you "hold out" for your dual?
    Sure.

Would you dump someone who isn't your dual for someone who is?
Not if the relationship is ok.

Do you try not to think about who is and who isn't your dual and just go for it?
I've tried that one time and ended up almost marrying my supervisor. The relationship deteriorated severely and I had to stop it 3 weeks prior to the wedding date. So now I'm cured. No more ignoring my intuition, no more go with the flow from day one.

Do you try to affect the dual seeking of others?
She greatly enjoys it when receiving messages of a good outlook; whether it be positive forcasts, or faith of good things to come in the future. She becomes calm and relaxed within the presence of light, non-problematic contact and an optimistic world view.
I can be that, it comes naturaly and with a little bit of attention I can emphasise on that. I don't think it is manipulation, it is more like a woman with a nice cleavage using a low-cut neckline

If someone who wasn't your dual asked you out, would you decline?
I've never did that... never plan to. Just because she's not my dual doesn't mean she cannot be my friend.

I'd also like to know how much "faith" you have in duality. I say faith because the concept is somewhat counterintuitive. How can someone so different be just the right type?
I have a lot of faith based on my previous experience... I've seen what Se can do to me, I just love it. My physical interaction with ESTp and ESFp girls was amazing... The first time with a ESFp I just had to readjust my definition of great sex. What happened then was just off the charts.
I've seen what an ESTp can do when provided with enough faith, they have the courage to take on *ANY* challenge.
I'm very different from this point of view... and I would simply love to have someone like that beside me.

Do you really think your dual is the best possible type for you in your personal experience?
    YES!

I think Rick put it nicely when he said:
There is a sort of "vicious cycle" phenomenon in the ability or inability to attract and retain socionic duals. You need to experience dual relations to learn how to attract duals, but if you don't know how to attract them, how are you going to experience duality??
You do need to experience duality in order to fully understand it.
    "What is love?"
"The total absence of fear," said the Master.
    "What is it we fear?"
    "Love," said the Master.

    I chose Love
