with honors
i can mostly only think of sentimental movies lol. need more st-ish ones like gran turino. oh i have to watch goodfellas i bet its not sentimental.
edit: wait gran turino was pretty sentimental now that i remember. somebody think of a delta horror flick. the blair witch project?
Gangs of New York - it's about Betas, but it has this very delta commentary on the pointlessness of all the violence. I talked about it in this thread.
Stan is not my real name.
Gran Torino is definitely delta. It is sort of "Social Issues As Viewed By Essential Delta ST Nature".
a lot of Clint's directed movies are also delta. Pale Rider is sort of an SLI's/delta ST secret dream come true.

Cuenta Atras (Spanish TV series)- Deltas fighting crime.

Just to further elaborate,
It has to do with Eastwood's initial inclination to being a solitary badass who keeps to himself.... seeing a community need..... trying to be brute force about it.... learning that it doesn't really work that way and human / social situations are complex...... and a sort of climax of realizing that the primitive ways are useful only to a certain end and that other, 'higher' means of taking action are the better way of getting results. The ending of the movie is how Clint's character at that time decided to deal with that, but it's interestingly representative of .... certain personal development aspects of delta STs.
Eh, it wasn't the best movie ever, but it was kind of interesting. A good historical/timepiece sort of film, too, if not 'historically accurate'. Gives you a sense of what it was like there/then. And yes, also, 'how humans can be' to each other, at times.
Also, I'm sure that clip of Mr Rochester accurately depicts how Minde would address such a situation. It's like a sense of pure Fi in terms of what is right and appropriate for handling such matters. It makes me smile![]()
Sofia Coppola: Lost in Translation and Somewhere, the latter a movie about an SLI actor who suddenly has to take care of his IEE daugther and dualizes with her, which gives his life new meaning and direction.
ETA: The Age of Innocence by Martin Scorsese

Lost in Translation, wow such a good movie
Whisper of the Heart
Hana and Alice
The Taste of Tea
This short movie:
That movie (the short video about the mail carrier going to France) made me wonder if maybe 'Antonia's Line' is delta. I used to love that movie. Antonia has a similar style. She is a down-to-earth, strong, matter-of-fact woman who doesn't express a lot of emotions, and she is very realistic and practical. But she is also a vulnerable, loving person inside. The movie itself is whimsical in some ways. I haven't watched it in a long time. I would describe it as 'earthy.' It's about several generations of children, and how they fall in love. It played at the Opera House theatre when I was in Shepherd College in the early 1990s, where they played sort of non-mainstream movies. Some of the movies I loved, and some of them I absolutely couldn't stand. I can't describe the movie well enough to do it justice.
I already wrote in another thread that I thought 'Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark' (horror/suspense) is also a delta movie.![]()
Oh thanks for bumping this thread, i've been meaning to make a post in here.
Karate Kid -- Mr. Miyagi SLI, Daniel Derusso IEE

Indiana Jones movies
Dirty Dancing
Top Gun
Amadeus
Crocodile Dundee

Stand and Deliver
The Blue Lagoon
Bad Medicine
I'll also include some early 90s movies, since it was sort of a continuation of that era/style:
Sister Act I&II
Rudy
The Mighty Ducks
Junior
Jurassic Park
I feel like Hollywood is running out of ideas. Too many bad remakes these days. Lack of originality in story lines in original movies as well.

I totally derailed a thread today because somebody posted a video with a villain that reminded me of a villain on The Great Muppet caper, which led to me researching Jim Henson and verifying that yes, some other people at socionix had him typed as a SLI, which I had vaguely remembered. I watched him making puppets, in one video, and he did actually talk like a SLI. And I ended up watching The Great Muppet Caper.
Several movies, which may or may not be 'delta' movies, but which happened to be some of my favorites:
(Note, these are not all at the same level of quality or deepness. Some of them were very important to me, and others were just sort of for entertainment.)
The Neverending Story
The Truman Show
The various Muppet movies, the earlier ones, not the ones made after Jim Henson died
Titanic (I'm embarrassed to admit that I liked this one.)
The Polar Bear King (Jim Henson was involved in this one too. Bad special effects, but the landscape and the music were beautiful, and I liked the story - the girl rescues the guy, a male/female role reversal, which fits with my own desire to be viewed as 'the strong one.' And I like the simple, primitive culture that they live in.)
Ghost (I watched that when I was younger and still living with my parents)
Nightmare on Elm Street (yes, I sometimes like fantasy horror movies, but only *some* of them, not all)
The Matrix
The Goonies
... Why can't I remember these? All my movies are packed in the storage unit right now, so I can't just look at the list.
I have to include the Harry Potter movies, but ehh, people have typed JK Rowling as a wide variety of things, and until I know for sure that I can tell the difference between Fe and Fi, I won't know what her type is.
I dont usually like Jim Carrey's acting much, but I also really enjoyed The Truman Show. It was one of his rare appearances where he didn't make a caricature of himself.
And no need to be embarrassed to have liked Titanic. It was an excellent movie! Didn't it win a bunch of academy awards that year?
oh p.s. the movie list i posted were not necessarily all Delta movies. It was a response to Reuben's request for the 1980s movies that i've enjoyed.
