Have we mentioned Bridget Jones? ENFp, and Mark Darcy is ISTp, IMO. Dunno about Hugh Grant's character.

Indeed - it's a matter of trust.

Haha... Nice one. I agree about Bridget, although I must admit ESFj has come to mind, too. Mark Darcey - obvious Introvert-Thinker, ISTp or INTj, more likely a caregiver and Te>Ti... As is the case here, I sometimes find it hard to make a distinction between Alpha and Delta dual pairs, but I think ENFp/ISTp is a safe bet here and it's much more plausible than ESFj/INTj (or any other combination of the four).
Another potential ENFp/ISTp duality:

Personally, I think Harry Potter is an INFj character, although I suppose all quadras will claim him.

Hmm, here are a few ideas of mine. I've indicated type where I had any ideas.
Huo Yuan Jia [Fearless, played by Jet Li]: INFj?
Rick Blaine [Casablanca, by Humphrey Bogart]: ESTj
Ilsa Lund [Casablanca, by Ingrid Bergman]: INFj
Maximus Decimus Mauritius [Gladiator, by Russell Crowe]: ESTj
Kanji Watanabe [Ikiru, by Takashi Shimura]: INFj
Officer Frank Serpico [Serpico, by Al Pacino]: ENFp
Lucius Vorenus [Rome, by Kevin McKidd]: ESTj
Titus Pullo [Rome, by Ray Stevenson]: ISTp
Kambei Shimada [Seven Samurai, by Takashi Shimura]
Baron Nishi [Letters from Iwo Jima, by Tsuyoshi Ihara]: ESTj

Winter will end
Harvest will come

Don't read below if you haven't seen Fearless:
Huo Yuan Jia strikes me more as ESFp at the beginning of the movie actually. He has the desire to accept everybody into his clan, and yet disregards the consequences. He also has a lot of energy as a kid, and is inclined to learn how to fight for the fun of it (before he sees his father being "beaten," etc). I do see how the pacifism and actions in later parts of the movie reflects more of an INFj feel.
Have you seen the Rurouni Kenshin OVAs? If not, I think you might find them interesting, yet a tad on the dramatic and violent side... The main character I believe is INFj, at least, I can relate to the character on many occassions. The anime movies (OVAs) relate the story of a kid (Kenshin Himura) who becomes the best assassin, or "Hitokiri," in Japan in the Sokabatsu period (hope I spelled it right).
I'll have to look into the Kenshin stuff. I hear what you're saying about Huo Yuan Jia in his early days. I guess I just knocked it down to his focusing on the wrong aspects of his personality. He seemed to put a lot of emphasis on what others thought of him yet was very inclusive (feeding the above perceived need). It just appeared to me that his youth might have been a case of him trying to fit his personality to the times/circumstances (as well as some unruly use of Se, which INFjs can sometimes be prone to in more rare circumstances). I just got the feeling that there was an overcompensation going on that eventually balanced itself out as he got older and spent more time delving into himself.

After reading The Sign of the Four, I can with pretty good confidence confirm:
Sherlock Holmes: ESTj - Te
Dr. Watson: INFj - Fi
Though I think Sir Arthur Conan Doyle himself may be more likely to be an Ne subtype, although he kind of imposes this sort of creativity on Holmes's character in the generation of his theories.
Also, from George Eliot's Adam Bede:
Adam Bede: ESTj
His brother whose name escapes me: INFj
I also strongly suspect James Joyce to be an INFj insofar as I'm halfway through A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.
Moonlight will fall
Winter will end
Harvest will come
Your heart will mend
How about Anna and the King (as INFj and ESTj)?
Does anyone think Ian McEwan ("Atonement") is INFj?

i am flakey
Yeah. Im not into typing characters but i really cant see an INFj wanting to beat the hell out of people to prove that hes the best.
I dont even know what these are but i have seen samurai x trust and betrayal. I thought it was great. I honestly dont know how anyone could like Rurouni Kenshin. Its probally the most boring and predictable anime ive seen. The storyline of every episode - All happy with friends, bad guy comes with a massive chip on his shoulder, Kenshin fights, almost looses because he uses a gay blunt sword and then he wins. I can see how the later kenshin is Infj as he doesn't want to hurt people but that is such a booring recipe.Have you seen the Rurouni Kenshin OVAs?

I guess I saw it as (possibly, it's worth noting) what could happen for an INFj growing up in a very Se-valuing environment. Sort of a falsification of type that would lead to an attempt to grossly overemphasize the super-ego functions. However, since I've given it more thought, it's probably unlikely that someone could go on like that in such direct opposition to their normal functioning and still be psychologically tenable as far as their personality was concerned.
There did seem a facetious element to his younger life though, as if that's the way he thought he was 'supposed' to act that, when he was forced to reconsider things after his awakening experience, resolved itself more closely to who he in fact was. I did get a very 'familiar' feeling of him, however, so I would say delta ST. I tend to see elements of myself in quite a few people, but my slowly growing understanding of things is gradually revealing to me that these are merely aspects, whereas I used to associate myself very, very closely to others (particularly where my quadra is concerned).

I don't like samurai x actually, save for the first season. The OVAs are way better than the series, have good plot development, and don't have that predictable feel to them. It explains a lot of things that weren't explained in the series. I was going to post them here, but I prefered not to.
Boo Radley from To Kill A Mockingbird could be a kickass INFj character, though really he's possibly too reclusive to type . I really heart him anyway. This forum makes me feel like Boo at times....still, I forgive you all.
My ISTp friend doesn't want to go watch the free world Beach Volleyball Championships 2 mins from my house with me. His excuse is that the girls are stuck up and jumping around and the guys wear Budgie Smugglers and slap each other on the arse.

Isn't "she's stuck up" guyspeak for "she won't flirt with me"?

that is what i was getting at. if there is an inescapable appropriation that is required in the act of understanding, this brings into question the validity of socionics in describing what is real, and hence stubborn contradictions that continue to plague me.
Yeah i ended up going. Im gonna go down again now as i had so much fun!
The dudes didn't wear budgie smugglers they were in shorts and most wore T-shirts so wasn't bad at all. I was impressed with the rallies and skill level.
There were chicks everywhere and the ones in the sand weren't too bad for eye candy either! I think my friend just didn't want to leave his house, his excuses were just feeble attemps at telling me this

One movie that some of my Delta friends absolute love is 2046 by Wong Kar Wai. It's a pretty obscure film over here in the states but those of you in Asia might have seen it. If you haven't - well then you're in for a treat. An amazing film.
Powerful emotions that boil under the surface, lots of subtlety -
Very visual movie, Wong Kar Wai tells his story through color and uniquely memorable scenes -

This is probably an incredibly useless post, but I loved 2046 (and loved its prequel, In the Mood for Love, even MORE) and Grave of the Fireflies completely tore me to shreds and flipped me inside out.
