Another Year:
Delta NF Counsellor and Delta ST Geologist, spend 12 months tolerating their less han perfect friends whilst they are quietly self satisfied and a little bit smug whilst genuinely remaining very nice and caring people.
Contains scenes of gardening, conversations in a kitchen, a little bit of a scene at a family bbq (but nothing too awkward) and a tense moment after a funeral. All in all, complex portrayel of complex and subdued emotions, of the type where people don't say much they just kind of have that look in their eyes. Nominated for lots of indy/arthouse awards. Contains jim Broadbent. Some viewers may find boring (I enjoyed it)

I actually don't think Star Wars is very delta... more like balanced.
- Rebel alliance against the oppressing force of the Empire (beta Ti - ST vibe imo).
- The light side vs dark side has been shown throughout the movies as being influenced by the potentially self-destructive human emotions such as hatred and vengeance, all of which aren't type related at all. Luke turns to the dark side in the series after vader dies, then turns back. Maybe the whole focus on the emotions related to switching "sides" could be Fi-related though.
- I see Luke as being SEE. I'd think Deltas would try to adapt (easier) to the current oppressive regime rather than being bent on overthrowing it (very Se-ego imo).
- The series being science fiction would automatically have an appeal to alpha NTs too .
The Secret Laughter of Women with Colin Firth and Nia Long. Laid-back love story with lots of .

My boyfriend says, "It's not wrong." When there's a new movie out my boyfriend will say that's a "Maritsa movie!" or a "Matt movie" referring to a movie about characters and relationships, which I am most interested in and he's interested in action, artistic nature of the movie.

The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. Even if you were EII, "movie Maritsa likes" would not = "EII movie." It would only make it a movie you like.

When you have Ne mobilizing, and it's activated, you begin to pick up certain patterns of behavior and likes/dislikes of people you're close to; to that then you begin to tailor what they are suited for or likely to be attracted to and you make comments like my BF makes. You get that?
I like comedies and not nasty comedies. I like movies that don't stereotype certain types of people; for example, I liked Bridesmaids because the chubby girl wasn't the center of "fat" jokes. I don't like to see people being treated that way.

I thought this thread was specifically about movies that showcase delta-like characters and/or relationships, not necessarily movies that deltas like. I like all sorts of movies that dont necessarily have delta storylines or characters in them. I didn't think those movies were to be included in this thread though.

Define an EII movie. What would be examples you have that would be an EII movie?
For the record, I feel like you're attacking me and my beliefs/tastes/and preferences by confirming such a narrow minded comment that Slacker made. It's like putting a load of on me.
Attacks like that feel like they put pressure on me because it pushes me to do something that isn't a natural inclination of me. I believe and I feel, are an argumentations that I prefer; not the kind that both you and Slacker like to roll out.
Some people need flat statements rather than utilizing interpretations; I think you and Slacker both choose the former rather than latter.

I'd rather you asked Martisa.
I don't know what EII movie is . On one hand that could be a movie with main character being EII, on the other movie with EII values although that would apply to all Deltas then.
Moreover, I think we don't like movies only because of the values, also because of the message they give, the artistic side, the climate etc. The movies the identicals like would probably overlap but they are not always the same.
For the record, I liked Bridesmaids very much. But I think the main characters were Beta. (the girl and the cop)
If you think you are attacted, that's probably the case. I cannot deny that I started paying much attention to what you say after reading some of your comments, especially after dealing with you personally. I don't know if that's Se I put on you or anything esle but regardless of socionics:
You are one of the most active users of the forum. You try to make everybody perceive you as a competent person, whereas you proved many times that it's not true. You never ask, you only state facts as if you were superior. The mix of these two things - being so overly sure of yourself and making mistakes all the time is annoying. Then you feel attacted which is usually right. But you bite back Martisa and you are very rude then. That's even more annoying.
Aren't you fed up with this? Why can't you be one of users instead of trying to be everybody's know-all ? I'm sure you know a lot but you can be wrong sometimes just like everybody else.
i'm kind of cheating because i'm only halfway through watching this. i'm taking a break because its streeetttchhed out, but it has an interesting story so far with fascinating characters. i think the theme is delta from what i've gathered. the potential of people to change for the better morally.
Claire's Knee (Rohmer)
Samurai Rebellion (Kobayashi)
Equinox Flower (Ozu)
High and Low (Kurosawa)

The characters are a weird mix of all the deltas, most especially IEE from Clementine, and some alpha characters. On second thought, the movie could be alpha, but deltas love alphas anyway so it stays.
Edit: I changed my mind this movie is Beta.

Amadeus and Indiana Jones which have been mentioned in this thread as likes probably actually are Delta films
My fave film for some years now has been the Terry Gilliam film Brazil even if he is an Alpha type. The main character is some dreamy NF type and the obligatory love interest stab stab stab is some ST type...the plot is basically some 1984-style fantasy where the character finds himself part of some hugely overbeauracratic system.
Brief Encounter (not to be confused with Brief Encounters of the Third Kind) may be one of the most Delta films of all-time, and perhaps other films that Celia Johnson played in.
I think also the film Being There has a Delta atmosphere to it...it's one role that Peter Sellers doesn't overplay (too much!). He plays some simple gardener who is perceived by everybody else as being very profound.
delta movie replete with canadian nature scenes.
The Right Kind of Wrong
Leo, the dishwasher - IEE
Colette, the bride - SLI
Danny, Colette's husband - SEE
Kristen, Leo's ex-wife - ESI, SEI

"My role in the family is the clue, I'm always trying to get everyone to stick together".
EII GIRL writing in her diary: "Boys are so immature. Oliver called Amy a freakazoid today, real subtle Oliver. I mean its so obvious that he likes her. Why doesn't he just tell her? Wouldn't it be easier if people just told you exactly what they are thinking? Then i guess I would have to do it too. I guess it's not that easy"
EII girl speaks with her activity IEE Mother in the kitchen:
EII: Why doesn't Daddy talk more?
IEE Mother, cautious and inquisitively: You just try to talk to him?
EII: Yeah.
IEE: Mother: Its just its just who he is it doesn't mean he's angry at you.
EII: Why would you even say that?
IEE: Because when we were first married he wouldn't talk to me that much it used to kind of scare me.
EII: Why? I'm going to tell daddy to talk to you more.
IEE: No, no honey don't mention it, Daddy has a lot on his mind.
Right after this dialogue it cuts to a scene with the girl in a hospital bed, very sick. Her SLI Father is sitting next to the intensive care bed. She is unconscious. All he says to here is the following:
SLI: I know sometimes……. um….. your a good girl…… you're the best girl.
Later, reporters are trying to ask him questions in the hospital. He looks the one guy straight in the eye and says without pause:
SLI: Did you hear about the guy coming into the delivery room? …….Well you are about to.

After further consideration, the Mother might possibly be an LSE. This makes her and he daughter duals, and the daughter and father activity. Activity for sure.
Delta family/protagonist (SLI), Beta villain.
the way Martin Scorsese describes Roberto Rossellini's movies (Stromboli, Europe 51, Journey to Italy, etc.) makes them sound incredibly Delta (my typing for Scorsese himself is SLI)
this movie struck me as delta. it has a kind of quaint, indulgent yet self-contained emotionality, understated scenic interplay and divergent, somewhat irreverent thematic development.
themes: familial conservatism, making what's not quite perfect work, maintaining communal ties and commitment to one's fellow man (or woman...).

slightly surreal quaintness, steadily divergent thematic evolution, a kind of dollhouse appropriateness to the various characters, mildly interspersed emotionality, casual yet somewhat formal dialogue and well balanced scenic interplay... all with a kind of moral to tie it up. there was some background sensationalism, but overall it felt delta.
