Yes, precisely. All of those would be Alpha-mood shows (and good ones, at that )
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Actually, South Park might be more Alpha/Beta.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,

I've always thought of South Park as Beta. Boy Meets World is probably Delta.

Well The Office is an example of that, and it is definitely Alpha. Do you think that your shows should be included in the list?

I am now inclined to include Stardust, though it may be another Alpha/Delta movie.

This thread is for making arguments of that nature, so if you feel that some of these Alpha films are not Alpha, but Delta, you should probably make a case for it being the case.

    hmmkr:
I think you're mistaking ENTp for Alpha.... Yes ENTp is an Alpha type but... perhaps if you included INTj, ISFp, and ESFj references the connection would be clearer.

Cop 223 just got dumped by his girl.. so he decides to buy pineapples with the expiration date of may 1st for a month and eat them after may 1st...
    vs .

Ah wait nevermind, it's difficult for me to get the gist of your posts immediately because we don't focus on the same things. Just cover for INTj and you'll be fine.

Like Cameron, he just might be INTj, sure he's not in a good place right now.. but he gets pushed and prodded out of his shell..

Ferris is like his supervisor... ESTp, that relationship is not a equal relationship. Maybe this movie is more Beta/Alpha? If it was a gay love story with Ferris and Cameron, I'll buy Alpha/Alpha.. haha
The movie has this kinda of message, you're a loser Cameron, if you lived like Ferris you'll be a lot happier.

I guess what I'm point out is not that the films are solely Alpha, but my Ne told me there was other quadra interactions in there.

I guess I expect the movies to have a more subtle message... even if the message is to live the way you want. I think in a lot of way, Alpha movies are defined by what is left unsaid. Then again, Alpha is not against making a buck... gotta have a little bit of carrot for everyone.

Maybe I'm a little too perfectionist.. eh?
Okay, movies are not necessarily categorized into Quadras by characters, though they certainly play a part, but also by the message, atmosphere, and major themes of the movie, and of course there will be main characters from other quadras apart from that of the categorized quadra. But the point is that these characters of different stripes help to illustrate the central point or premise of the movie in a way which would be most entertaining for the particular Quadra watching the movie.

    Citizen Kane
    Fight Club
Blue Velvet (Perhaps not, the surrealism is hard to type)
    All the pretty horses
    Waking Life
9/11 Conspiracy Documentary (Shitty movie though)

that is what i was getting at. if there is an inescapable appropriation that is required in the act of understanding, this brings into question the validity of socionics in describing what is real, and hence stubborn contradictions that continue to plague me.

I would type Richard Linklater films as not being Alpha but Delta.
David Lynch films too. Ne/Fi rather then Ne/Ti.... But I could be wrong.

I think Hitchcock movies are Alpha.
I think O'brother where art thou was alpha. In fact all Coen's brother films.

One of the brother wrote his undergrad thesis on “Two Views of Wittgenstein’s Later Philosophy.” This was on their wiki.

Kurasawa films like Yojimbo, Rashomon are also Alpha.
The Big Lebowski is incredibly Alpha.

tbl has got to be some alpha thing or something i simply cannot understand. i have never understood the hype around it and it just strikes me as such a "dude" sort of movie somehow (no pun intended.) there's something within it that i just don't really get. minus the nihilists and the whole kraftwerk joke album cover. those parts = funny.

Are you sure you're not ISFP!!!
    Positive!

I have a weak spot for goofy and often nonsensical. (Not crude, though, cause that offends my delicate aesthetic sensibilities.) Like, I rather regretted watching the 40 Year Old Virgin. Ugh. Way too much raunch for my taste. Made me cringe. Bleh.

The movie most likely belongs to a / quadra. The movie basically conveys Alpha attiudes: creating a positive mood, light-heartedness, having fun, coming together as a group to pursue their interest in dancing, giving less emphasis to academic work because it is boring and irrelevant to the protaganist Tracy's interest in performing etc. In fact, most of the characters belong to the Alpha quadra, with the antagonists been in the Gamma quadra.

Will Hunting is the archetypical, stereotypical Ti-ILE. Robin Williams' character is an Fi-EII. The girlfriend, Alpha SF, maybe Si-ESE?

I'd have to say that the most Alpha show that I have ever seen is probably FLCL. I remember first seeing it 6 years ago when I was 11. Absolutely nothing makes sense the first time you see it (and that is exactly the point). But despite that it remains one of my favorites to this day solely because of the vibe that I got from it the first time I saw it. Oh, and it does make sense eventually after watching it again and again and again, it's just that because of the way it presents itself it kind of forces you to watch it without thinking logically. I find it's easier to enjoy that way.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force is pretty alpha too.
