    Default Accepting and Producing?

How would you differentiate, for example, the contrast between an accepting and the producing ?

i'm not really familiar with accepting and producing. I even read a topic in which was stated that it is obsolete. Socionists nowadays talk about experience 4 and experience 3 or something.

but if you mean the difference between as first function or as second function, then there is little difference only in the role which the functions play.

A second function is sometimes supporting the first function and if i say it correctly this means: the 2nd function is using the data gained from the first function. the first function is gaining data directly from your environment.

Probably accepting/producing means that accepting is rigid and central, and producing is flexible and peripheral.

I think it is a mistake not to emphazise the many clear differences between as leading (first) function and as creating (second) function. The functions should always be seen in relation to the types, not as isolated "agents".

As explained by Smilingeyes in Dichotomic descriptions of the types v.2.0, accepting in INTps and INFps, and creating in ENTjs and ENFjs share many similarities, but they are different in many ways. Here are some examples:

    1. For INTps and INFps is a limiting function, "a function that reduces your field of interest, it pushes you away from frivolous, dangerous, off-limits interests towards the things that you need to focus in." For ENTjs and ENFjs is an empowering function, "a function that widens your area of interest, it's use creates great confidence in a person's ability."

    2. For INTps/INFps is a tactical function, which "focuses on what it's doing. Methods are chosen according to personal interest, skill and relevance to task. The outcome is whatever is possible under circumstances and should be accepted as such." For ENTjs/ENFjs is a strategic function, which "focuses on the bottom line, the thing you want. By it's action it separates the worthy from the unworthy, talented from untalented, the succesful from the unsuccesful. Without a goal, it's useless. It's point is to establish direction."

    3. Since is a "cold" function for INTps/INFps, their "goals are personal", and being irrational types they relate "to a system of thought in which people establish general rules only when they are found necessary." In contrast, is a "hot" function for ENTjs/ENFjs, which means that they relate "to a system of thought in which there are important goals that are common to all people." They create rules "as a tool and followed until it's proven they need to be discarded."

    4. Due to the different roles of the function, INTps and INFps have a "cold" communication style, whereas ENTjs and ENFjs have a "business-like" style of communication.

    5. In mirror relations ENTj-INTp and ENFj-INFp the different roles of the function result in different attitudes and behaviours. In these kind of relations INTps and INFps take "great pride in being able to always point out something smart and possessing a large base of knowledge on which to base its suggestions." Their "opinions and positions on things are carefully crafted", and they "hate[s] to be wrong about anything." In contrast, ENTjs and ENFjs think that they have a "natural ability to look at any given situation and find the best position to take." They will change their minds "only when new information becomes available." And here is another very important difference: "Cre-Ni will generally have greater ease in explaining his ideas and this often causes situations in which he appears in a superior position to Acc-Ni. Cre-Ni is quick to take a position and Acc-Ni has to work around it."
