Stages of development of a socionist

Those stages are somewhat based on Spiral Dynamics. They are hypothetic and possibly wrong :

Stage I :
- Inquisitive, curious, trying to acquire the bases of socionics, and trying to type himself.
- Pitfall : confusing socionics with other models, MBTT and KTT. Mistyping oneself.

Stage II :
- Wants to know what is really socionics, structuring it to himself, not confusing it with MBTT and KTT. Can eventually begin to type others.
- Pitfall : misunderstanding or misinterpretating theoretic socionics. Mistyping oneself and others.

Stage III :
- Tries to gather lots of theoretic data and to know as most as he can, and to type others.
- Pitfall : becoming a either a socionic enthousiast, or a socionic nerd, which seems to be interested on socionics but being very impractical for using it. Not typing others correctly, because of lack of experience.

Stage IV :
- Tries to understand socionic limitations and to gather social opinions and subscribe to them, the most reasonably possible though. Begins to become practical.
- Pitfall : becoming a either a socionic conformist, or an socionic rebel.

Stage V :
- Tries to understand socionic applications, and to be as practical as possible. Can begin to "teach" socionics.
- Pitfall : not understanding what does "efficiency" really mean, of finding nonsense applications. Elaborating bogus models, on the pretext that those would be "more efficient". Getting bored of socionics.

Stage VI :
- Uses socionics for understanding and helping people, with altruistic intentions, not making socionics the centre of understanding people, but using it as a tool, a model.
- Pitfall : becoming a socionic hippie, being over-ethical and lacking theoretical foundations.

Stage VII :
- Uses socionics creatively, efficiently, finding applications, elaborating efficient models. Using socionics as ethically than logically. Wants to teach socionics and making it expand.
- Pitfall : ???

Stage VIII : ???

These stages of development are not discrete states, every socionist is caracterised by several stages with various degrees.

Here are some alternative stages after stage III

Stage ???
- Realizes his type at last and finally understands some of the concepts of the theory that he used to read about and take out of context. Can begin to type others more accurately. Can help others understand their type.
- Pitfalls: Can become frustrated talking about Socionics to people who are stuck on Stages II through V.

after that...

Stage ???
- Realizes that he's given entirely way too much attention, time, and effort to this theory and that he is no longer a well-rounded, socially healthy person as a result. Decides to back off from Socionics and begins to avoid trying to type people in his life or delving too deeply into articles or conversations about the more complex aspects of Socionics. Slowly starts spending less and less time online.
- Pitfalls: Can become distant from friends in the Socionics community.

I don't know where to put this one...

Stage ???
- Begins to understand why neither himself nor his partner are satisfied in their relationship based on their Socionics compatibility. May finally understand that they're just not good for each other and that each of them should have a partner who is better suited to their functional preferences and can meet their needs and encourage personal growth.
- Pitfalls: May stay in the "unhappy but not sure what to do" phase for too long, or may break off a relationship that could have worked out rather well due to partners being compatible in other areas of life.

- Realizes that he's given entirely way too much attention, time, and effort to this theory and that he is no longer a well-rounded, socially healthy person as a result. Decides to back off from Socionics and begins to avoid trying to type people in his life or delving too deeply into articles or conversations about the more complex aspects of Socionics. - Pitfalls: Can become distant from friends in the Socionics community.

Actually, this all sounds like a pitfall of a stage rather than the stage itself.

stage 1 Wanted to learn about relations / Discovered socionics / Didn't believe the relation part

stage 2 Experienced the described relations / Started to believe socionics

stage 3 Wanted to learn everything / Started typing people slowly with 4 dichotomy's

stage 4 Gained real life experience / Typing people fast with gained internal database of known types

stage 5 Gained more real life experience / Typing faster with gained internal database of VI

Probably stopping to order types like SP, SJ, NT and NF. lol... Typing with separate information elements, Reinin's dichotomies and Gulenko's quaternions.
