I think ESFj for Royal is plausible - it's difficult for me to tell because she's French . She has a certain coldness or restraint when I'm seen her speaking, and yet she always has that shy smile. She doesn't seem like an obvious politician from appearances, and from what little I know of her, she's more heart than long-term economic policies (well, she is a socialist, I suppose). She's my fav candidate of the 4 main ones I know about .

Mostly I-types... France is one of the most passive and non-initiating countries I know. French extrotims seem to be less than 45% IMO.

Yeah, I'm also inclined to think Royal is ESE. Here is a video on her in English:

Boy she is good-looking for a politician and for a woman of her age who has had four children. She seems very charming, but perhaps not very charismatic (not type-related).

Here is Sarkozy on Charlie Rose's program:

I've had a hard time making sense of him. On the one hand, he seems strict and logical, but he has a (French?) mannerism of adding goofy smiles at the end of his statements. I'm going for LSI because of his sense of being very controlled, and he seems to keep trying Charlie Rose to understand his logic and looks at him very intently.

I watched that whole video with Sarkozy, and I'm pretty sure of LSI. He has that very strong thinking style of "____ is not ____. ____ belongs in _____." The smiling thing is just a learned skill to help him seem more personal with people. His statements about a spiritual or emotional connection with the U.S. do not seem very convincing, but he comes across as having very clear stances on issues, which he articulates with ease. His articulation style is basically about developing a logical chain of thought for each issue.

That was a great video on Sarkozy.

I'm not sure but I can see him as LIE. Right now I am thinking LIE>LSI. He seemed more into Te and Fi. I agree, though, that if LIE he's one who's learned to look convincing in a Se way. I don't think he can be anything but logical-rational, and probably LII and LSE can be ruled out.

Rick, I see what you mean but I don't see that as inconsistent with LIE.

On Royal, I had typed her previously as LSI but now I don't think so.
