Default Two subtypes of ESFps (SEEs)

Within my relatively small experience i've noticed there are two distinctive subtypes of the woman ESFP (SEE) type.

type 1: their main purpose is Se

    - just wants to have fun
    - behave like they are acting or doing some kind of roleplay, sometimes using a very high pitched voice
    - they like to make fun of everybody (in a nice way)
    - they want to meet a lot of new people
    - more likely to be creative designing

type 2: their main purpose is more supported by Fi

    - highly romantic
    - like to talk a lot and create a nice ambience
    - want to have fun with everybody (telling jokes)
    - they don't need to meet a lot of new people
    - more likely to play an instrument

I hope you have supplementary information or comments? I'm curious.

Your type 1, even as a caricature, resembles more an SEI than SEE.

Your type 2 -- not necessarily SEE.

yes type 1 is maybe to much explained as an SEI, except for the roleplaying, which i've noticed (in my experience) is a typical SEE trait. ("all the world is a stage" idea)

type 2 is an SEE but not quickly to spot. they are the so called "lower energy" subtypes on some socionics sites.

I think roleplaying, in the way you put it, sort of for fun, is too specific a trait to be attributed to, or ruled out for, any type.

If I had to explain it via Socionics, I would relate it to and/or , which are SEI quadra values, not SEE.

It's certainly kind of hard to summarize or uniquely distinguish a type in just 5 bullet points, especially when they contain stuff that may apply to many types.

But is there anything in the type 1 that's inconsistent with being SEE? I certainly recognize SEE there, although the last bullet point doesn't seem to fit as well as the others (lots of types could be creative designers.) I bring this up because I know that often in Socionics SEE is described in more aggressive (even 'pushy') terms, and it may be interesting discussion whether that's really so (in which case many people who seem SEE would then have to be SEI, and then you have two very different types of SEIs).

Anyhow, among real people I know, I think this type 1 description fits very well.

The type 2 is a little harder because it uses terminology usually reserved for Alpha SFs (like creating an ambience).

However, in my experience, there really are these two types...only, I wouldn't describe them quite that way. The type 1 is apt to be joking with everybody, and seems to be on some sort of "high energy potion"...but in a different way from ESFjs. The people I think of as SEIs aren't like this; they may joke with people, but in a quieter sort of way...less the constant center of attention.

Type 2 are more laid back, and quieter than type 1. But when they're around SEIs, it seems obvious that they're more extraverted, even in those times when the SEI is talking more.

The description is not the opposite of a SEE, but in as far as it summarizes any single type, I think it is closer to SEI and SEE. I'm not saying that it's a good SEI description, either.

Maybe it's good to add, that the points that i described were to show the distinctive differences between just the two types of SEE. So you could part them better.

Please don't try to see this as a complete description of a type. Then it would probably indeed have been to global. and not specific enough.

If hope you maybe know of some more differences between the two types.

Default ESFps: huge subtype variances (relatively)

All Socionics types show variances in personality traits between subtypes. (For example, ****** and Ronald Reagan were both EIEs; however, they expressed their valued functions quite differently. Socionics accounts for these differences with subtypes. Thus despite being the same type--EIE--****** and Reagan manifested different personality traits because they were different EIE subtypes.)

Sometimes a Socionics type's subtypes can show such wide variances that it can lead Socionists (and forum participants) to think that a subject is actually another type entirely. (E.g. last week in a forum thread I initially typed Christopher Walken Ni-ENFj -- however, after watching a lot of interviews, I realized that I was wrong and he's not Ni-ENFj, but a beta introvert.)

    ESFps:

More than any other Socionics type, I've noticed the greatest variances between subtypes in ESFps. Even great variances within the two ESFp subtypes..!

For simplicity's sake, in this example I'll focus only on ESFp males. (I've noticed the same wide variances between females.)

From easy-going, cool Elvis to bubbly, (extremely) socially engaging talk show host Regis Philbin to bombastic, cackling rock star David Lee Roth... To hard-boiled, blunt, (and reportedly crude) President Lyndon B. Johnson to intimidating, militaristic coach Bill Parcells, to hard-drinking, womanizing, human rights crusader Senator Ted Kennedy, to <edited, see below>

I'm not sure why ESFps are so varied in personality emphasis, demeanor/gaze--and I'm not sure that 'why' matters. Despite their differences, I notice that ESFps often rise to leadership positions in whatever their chosen fields.

To those who are as interested in Socionics typing as I am, perhaps these videos of ESFps will be helpful:

    Elvis Presley:

    Regis Philbin:

    David Lee Roth:

    Lyndon Johnson

    Bill Parcells:

    Ted Kennedy:

<I agree with the posters below who suggested that Will Ferrell is a different type... I believe that he's ESE.>

Maybe their so varied because you typed them wrong?

Regis is widely considered ENFp, for one.

    regis is ESFj.
david lee roth has to be stoned, but yeah ESFp.
elvis is a good example of ESFp.
    Will Ferrell is ENFj.
    Bill Parcells is likely ENTj.
in conclusion you can't type ESFps.

If one example is incorrect, it's Regis... I've had difficulty typing him and Jerry Garcia, (who I know are the same type.) That said, he's got a better shot of being ESFp than ENFp... If you research him--his wife, (Joy is her name and she seems INTp,) his friends, (David Letterman is one,) and tv partners throughout the years, (Kelly Ripa, Kathy Lee Gifford, Se valuers...) It's pretty compelling.

(This said, I don't expect you to do any of it... You are stubborn--as ESFps often are... I remember that you allowed Phaedrus to type you several years ago, and you've clung desperately to that typing, in spite of what everyone's suggested to you... If Regis reminds you of yourself... That might be the reason.)

As to the rest of them, they're correctly typed... And extremely varied... Compare Bill Parcells to David Lee Roth to Ted Kennedy to Will Ferrell.

    lol, No.

crazedrat -- You type Kurt Cobain as delta and yourself as Gamma... You've twisted Socionics so thoroughly to fit your erroneous self-typing that its nipples are about to fall off... Given that, why should anyone listen to a word you say on the subject of Socionics..? You're never right, and here's another example of you not being right. All of this said, I like you. You remind me of my little brother (he's INFp.)

I'll look into Regis and Will Ferrell. (I know several people of Will Ferrell's Socionics type--EIE doesn't make sense...) Parcells and LBJ are similar types... I don't doubt those typings.

poster above -- I agree that Stallone is ESFp.

    nonetheless, Juju is right.

There are great differences between ESFP's.

I'm only an expert on the women, but they differ from:

SEE-Se: the party person, talks to everyone, is the driving force of fun making
SEE-Se: the fairy tale girl, thinks she is a child/princess
SEE-Se: the philosophy seeking girl, lower energy, likes discussing paranormal things etc.
SEE-Fi: the bling bling girl, wears as much silver as possible, dresses as a cute whore
SEE-Fi: the arrogant rebel, most haughty narcist, little interest in boyfriends

There are more, but these are most obvious distinctive...
