    Default Russian articles/essays

    - I'm having some difficulty finding (and reading/translating) articles written by Augusta, Reinin, Gulenko, Boukhalov and the other socionics top dogs out there. Is there a centralized deposit of their articles somewhere?

    According to Augustinavičiūtė, humans can be classified in terms of types of information processing, or "information metabolism". Psychological features such as attention, interests, memory and motivation are components of this theory of information metabolism. This theory of information metabolism is built upon an analogy to energy metabolism. According to this analogy, information that arrives as signals from outside an organism are available for information metabolism just as food is available for energy metabolism. The brain is the key information metabolism system. The brain and information metabolism deal with a two-way flow of signals: metabolism of input signals results in the production of output. Just as enzymes can constructively interact only with structurally specific substrate molecules, brains can only constructively metabolize information that is correctly "tuned" to the brain. By assigning "energy values" to the various psychological components of information metabolism, Augustinavičiūtė created a mathematical theory of thinking.
    - 'Augusta created a mathematical theory of thinking'... I'm dying to learn more about this feat. How deep did Augusta go with her analysis..? Does anyone know more about this?

    - I seem to be having the same kind of difficulty locating Kepinski's main works... Any help there would be good, too.

    http://daer.narod.ru/ < loads slow but has a nice collection of full books and stuff

    all three sites have the fundimentals of Augusta's work. If you don't know Russian about the best I can suggest is using the combination of Systran Professional Premium 5 and the multitran site. I do pretty good by this (much, much better than babelfish will ever give you). The only harsh part (depending on your views towards software piracy) is that Systran costs about $799 to buy and yes, you really do want the full professional version, it has key features that are needed for producing coherent Russian-English translations that don't make your eyeballs scream. If your not uptight PM me and I can point you towards where you can download the cracked full licensed version of it (you'll need a real internet connection as it's around 650 mb)

    Kepinski's work I've found is much, much harder to get ahold of. All sources I've found in English require rediculously high regristration fees to access. I did one time get ahold of a pdf version of his book were he lays out the information metabolism theory, but it turned out to be a straight picture scanning of the book in Polish. Not speaking Polish and not being able to select out the text for translation it turned out to be a dead end.

    The second site (ru.laser.ru) uses the opposite notation convention than what we're used to.
    On it:
    ESI = ISFP
    SEI = ISFJ
    etc.

    They decided to use the "J-P flip" for introverts. Quite a few of their typings are rather offball, and they've listed their rate of correspondence to other socionists in the right hand column. Quite low. Also, they give great weight to facial features and are very bull-headed about it. When I wrote to them once they insisted I was an ILE based on one picture on my site (of course, I did not ask to be typed). Stuff like that makes me depressed, but, naturally, these people are not particularly mainstream, despite their large socionics library. According to them, Sergey Ganin is LIE, not LII, Stratievskaya is IEE, not ESI, Tsypin (whom I have met) is LII, not IEE, and Mironov (whom I have met) is ILE, not LIE (of course, they are wrong).
