    Default Segolene Royal

The socialist candidate for French president, with a very real chance of winning.

What do you think of her type?

    No one?

Ok, in my opinion, she's a very good example of an ISTj woman.

She looks like my teacher who I believe is IJ, probably N.
But seeing that you said LSI, I can see that in here appearance.
Posts I wrote in the past contain less nuance.

From what I have read of her, she does give off a Beta vibe, and ENFj was my initial impression. But I could easily see her as an ISTj.

I think ENFj is possible, especially since a highly intelligent and perceptive ENFj, above all in politics, can easily be mistaken for many other types.

But as UDP III said (what is it with your different numbers, UDP?), when seeing her talk and walk, I get a far clearer IJ vibe than EJ.

I prefer ISTj to INTj simply due to the vibe I get. She could conceivably be INTj though, but I don't think so.

A guy who studied with her at college said something that was quoted everywhere, that everyone thought she was nice and not very clever, when actually she was very clever and not nice at all.

She's too non-verbally expressive to be a thinking type ; IT types tend to be strictly verbal.

I'm french and know a little french politicians. I typed her ISFj.

    Reinin said :

    - ISTj is optimistic, obstinate, and aristocratic.
    - ISFj is pessimistic, compliant, and democratic.

She seems to be probably ISFj, terminal subtype.

According to Rick Delong, being non-verbally expressive is correlated with ethical types.

Logical types tend to interact more informationally than socially ; their body language is generally little or inexistant. Logical types can, less frequently, use body language, but for logical uses.

Ethical types seem to be more "social" as Logical types seem to be more "professional". That is why I typed Royal as Ethical, instead of Logical.

completely ridiculous. you don't understand what rick means by verbally expressive in this situation.

with regards to royal herself i have no idea about her type since i haven't seen any videos/material of her in english. not that i've looked very hard. but what you say in general about logical and ethical types is senseless.

    Logical :
    * less expressive face and body language
    Ethical :
    * more expressive face and body language

great; now tell me what that has to do with verbal expressiveness.

because i anticipate a problem answer, i will spell it out here; it has nothing to do with verbal expressiveness. rather, the idea is that ethical types are more expressive overall than logical types, including in body language and in words.

if you can't understand that or don't agree with it, this discussion is over.

@Expat, why ISTj over ISFj? From VI only she kinda looks ISFj. I am not following French politics much these days and my french is very shitty so i am not going by much but VI .

From VI she looks IJ, although I do think that Ne IJ is unlikely.

As for why ISTj instead of ISFj -- I see rather than , and also obstinate-emotivist rather than compliant-construtivist.

The true ISFj French politician is Lionel Jospin.

you're probably right, tending to type all women as ethical types is pretty chauvinistic...

Well yes, but not totally, in the sense that I think that most people do tend to adapt to expected gender roles. So an ISTj woman will tend to look more than an ISTj man, for instance, especially in politics.

Yes, a logical woman can act more ethical ; either that, or her T preference is slight, or she, as a politician, is using communication techniques, like those taught in the NLP milieu, which require a deliberate use of her weak functions ; especially deliberate body language.
