He's mistaking a feature for a bug. Maybe he can't see her worrying as a feature.
Before I encountered Socionics, I didn't fully grasp the concept that having fully complementary skills (with identical values) could be advantageous for both partners. Granted, I was attracted to my ex because she had good taste in clothes and furnishings (Si-dom), which is an area in which I need help, but I also liked her because we clicked on Te. But neither of us was any good at Fi, and so there was a major blind spot there.
I think a lot of people want helpful Identicals and don't really grasp the fact that their own characteristics might be necessary for another person's optimal functioning. Similarly, they have bought into the criticisms leveled at them by non-duals, regarding the value of their traits. Because I was raised in Delta, I was frequently criticized or marginalized for my natural impulses, and I was amazed to find that many of what I was told were my worst traits were actually positive features of LIE's.
I was talking to this cute ESI waitress a few months ago, and she confessed to me that she worried about everything and was often fearful. I told her that she was just scanning the environment for threats, which is a useful (and probably necessary) trait to have when your partner is happy-go-lucky and tends to optimistically walk right in to the lion's den, hoping to find a pet kitten.

Dual type(as per tcaudilllg)
Enneagram 2w1sw(1w9) helps others to live up to their own standards of what a good person is and is very behind the scenes in the process.
Tritype 1-2-6 stacking sp/sx
I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

"I think Tv and films allowed me to escape the boredom of my own reality" "If I wanted to create these realities that were different from mine I had to become a film maker." "I decided very early one this is what I want to do, I want to create stories"
Welp, I said the same thing in my own typing vid. I decided early one I wanted to create worlds as well, It's the same reason why I want to make video games. Yea I think she's EII.
Even down the the film she made, wow yea EII.
: ) cool, you should watch Capernaum @Lord P
(yes, her typing is pretty obvious, but since she's such a great Ne "inventor" and portrayes characters too on her skin, I think an extroverted subtype would fit her.. if she's not Ne base altogether... also notice the humanitarian strikes, they are related to Fi, at least in socionics.)
With her film I have even had ideas of my own to create something from the perspective of a certain character just to see what it's like to see the world through a certain kind of persons's eyes. When she said that it really solidified her type for me. I think I relate strongly perhaps because she might also be Ne subtype yea.
@Lord P yes, also, notice how she's "attracted" to this Se little guy ; ) the elements of the movie are very Se altogether, and she uses them, studies them to sublimate them... get why your Se polr is so important?great lessons..

FiSe is a very good guess.
I really have no idea about how we can overcome our soft spots, I think we normally do it when we have to face unfamiliar situations where our common understanding of how the world turns is challenged; it's like "thinking outside of the box", which is a good description of Ne.
Jung, whose merit in typology was to try to make us evolve from our fixations about the models of the psyche, suggested that we do that by the auxiliary function, for us it's Ne.
For the director, Labaki, I think that the Se we see can similarly be attributed to an accentuation of Ne, her imagination, her putting ourselvels in someone else's shoes, it gives us a broader range of possibilities to examine, where Se can play too, without letting us so down.

@Lord Pixel
I was thinking of doing a little exercise: think about anyone famous or not whose type you're sure about (possible a healthy person)... ok? now, try to notice the way in which they use their Polr.
Tallmo opened a thread about this last year, "how our polrs inspire us" (or something like that... I forgot), and it had this great idea that basically polrs are a source of pretty big potential... if you assess it in real life examples, I guess it'll be more easy to tell... also you're probably already doing it, but fail to notice![]()
Kevin Shields is intuitive introverted and possibly ethical.
Harding is possibly EII or SLI, I think in the interview above she was visibly stoned, drunk or took too much antiflu.
Here she's more like herself probably.
edit. I like her music, but she's like the sui generis lost sister of Scarlet Johanson. Her fashion sense seems like too much Ni. I wonder if its her personal style or just idea of some EII art director.

any weak function has "big potential" when is used more than common. as in common it's avoided to be used enough. when people use them - they are alike "wow. it makes the life easier and me as more efficient". to think helps, for sure. those 8 functions are 8 equally important ways of "thinking"

IEE-Ne vocal
I thought inversely, at first I was tempted to put her under IxI, then I thought more... going back in her history, it made more sense under Si, she's not so expressive, she's such a rare thing, she has a definitely uncommon sense of beauty (which fits Si) while a IEI at least would be more "standard" in that regard, it's like she doesn't give a fuck about what others think of her style, I really appreaciate that.. oh. the last video you posted was said to be inspired by Jodorowski (strong Ni), but other of her videos (watch Horizon), are far more simple and fitting Si, to me...
btw, complex type for sure![]()
Only time I can use my PoLR without serious exhaustion of ever wanting to use it again is when I have control over whether or not I can stop using it or continue to use it. When in a situation that forces me to use it either I completely do not use it or go completely overboard, which is why I hate being forced to use it anyway because when I do it's still not right, damned if you do damned if you don't. Only in privacy can I be comfortable with using it.

Be alert to your feelings Fi
lots of Ne (I do it in many ways)
She considers so many scenarios in so many perspectives but from a human point of view.
She shows a lot of compassion for the auditions, just a lot of compassion for everyone involved in the process
