A question using videos ENTp versus ENTj debate

Which one of these people is more representative of ENTp type behaviour and who is more representative of ENTj type behaviour.

Note that since most people have already seen the Bill Hicks one and there was a rapid debate about whether he was ENTp or ENTj in a previous thread, you will need to watch the Mark Finley all the way through before making an appropiate judgement to who is typically using and who is typically using ...

I have a hard time getting people to respond to these sort of threads ... probably because they [especially this thread] are controversial and people allow their prejudices and biases to interfere with valid judgements and that gets them off topic.

I don't disbelive what you say, but the theory would predict otherwise, since

systems are Ti, so an ENTp should be more inclined to talk about them
and beliefs are Ni, so an ENTj should be more inclined etc.

Joy, this is why I wanted to put this video up, because I think that Hicks is an ENTj and that Mark Finley is ENTp and in order to see that there has to be some sort of objective example to do a contrast with.

Good luck with that, but of course that is why I initially said "who is more representative of" and not "who actually is" ...

I watched Mark Finley. He looks ENTp, but he talks ENTj. Or maybe just the Te is ENTps is sometimes pretty strong.

They might both be ENTp. IRL I know people similar to either one of them of them and are ENTp. Rather diverse type.

Watched both. Hicks is, as always, rather ILE. Finley seems like a rational type (not necessarily LIE); he reminds me of some actor, but I can't put a name to a face.

I suppose it is possible they could both be ENTp .... the reason I think hicks is ENTj is by the way he talks about religion, and not with just the assumption that the fact that he talks about religions period means that he is using Ne. I think it is Te, because the way he talks about religions is done, for example in the included clip, in a way that emphasises the objective arguments within hippy religious circles concerning issues like pot and drug usage and not the objectivity of comparison between the different systems, which is what an ENTp would do. He comes off ENTj to me for this fact even though talking about religion in his act does seems ENTpish. I think that is what I is throwing the rest of you off, thinking he is ENTp.

Mark Finley on the other hand I think uses Ne, because on his example that he gave to the university over astronomy he used Ne to try to convince the students and faculty that they should not be prejudiced towards Christianity on account of their pride in knowledge. I think that shows that that is probably what he values functionwise himself.
