Good or bad? What do you think of them?
I think it's more of a personal preference kinda thing. I don't think it's necessarily good nor bad. To some, having tattoos is an art, and displaying it on their bodies are a mark of self-expression.
And why bother if people think if it's good or bad? It's our body anyways.
(I don't have a tattoo though)

They're a bit too much commitment for me. That said...
I have three, I have plans for at least two more. I've wanted to have tattoos for as long as I can remember as a child. My father was appaled though, he was upset that now if I'm being hunted down by the authorties my body will be identifiable.

Neither good nor bad to me. Except that it could get in the way of one's occupational mobility -- may have to cover up in professional settings to avoid being thought of badly by one's superiors. Not all bosses have biases against those who have tattoos but there are people who don't think highly of those who have it. My father has one and he always feels the need to hide it with long sleeves in formal situations.
Yes, that's true. Some bosses don't like it. Or when meeting clients/potential customers, it might leave a not-so-good impression. I have friends who have their whole bodies splashed with tattoos. They cover it up with their long sleeved shirts when they go to work.Originally Posted by stefana

I don't see a problem with them... That said I like jail tats way more than everyday ones. A girl with the standard small of the back, round the ankle kind of thing is ho-hum.... a girl with a blury jail tat done with a straightened out staple and ball point pen ink is hot.
(I'm a sick fuck though )
lol I like the way your father thinks (and he's quite right... they put that stuff in your file for later use. Tattoos are one of the first things they check for)Originally Posted by oyburger
I'd never get a tattoo that I couldn't cover up with a short, strapless dress.
I don't think I could ever get a visible tattoo. I have one now that's on my lower stomach and I never wear bikinis so it's not an issue. I'm thinking about getting another but the only thing holding me back is where to put it. I will never go the lower back route so that's out. Saying I have one tattoo already pretty much freaks guys out enough..
tattoos are a waste of time, skin cells, and money.
Money, that's for sure. Last one i got was $250 + tip for 5 letters.
i'm fascinated by tats. i did my first when i was 18 as a symbol of my emerging rebellion. it's on my right shoulder: a nasty smiley face with crossbones and words (Shaun Forever). like i said it was just a dumb rebellion thing
the second i did a year ago. i thought about this one long and hard. it covers almost all of my back. it's a representation of the Hindu goddess Kali. my gamma/delta relatives freaked out when they saw it. said i exaggerated. here's what it roughly looks like:

In Germany, lower-back tattoos have become almost mainstream for girls -- I don't think anyone is bothered.

i have had quite a few piercings (same reasons as mustachio, the hitting-18-years-now-i-can-spite-my-parents sort of rebellion,) but i can't bring myself to get a tattoo.

A woman I know is in the process of getting this tattoo done, she gets it worked on every few months, it's huge but very beautiful.Originally Posted by mustachio

I told you all about my friend who the tatoo artist secretly put "I love black dick" on his leg whithout him knowing right? (or so he said, that he didn't know about it )
is your name Shaun? that's a fuck'n awsome tatoo if it isOriginally Posted by mustachio

oh well it's not as cool then... if it was your name it'd be like.... unbelievably vain... "ME FOREVER!" "I FUCK'N ROCK!" hahaha maybe I'll get myself one like that
your dogs cool though too
funny i never thought about it that way. nor has anyone ever quite mentioned it that way. what you think is vain was much different for an 18-year-old SLE finally able to do anything he wants. it's not so much an unnatural love of oneself as it is expressing one's individuality. i've always wanted to break all the unwritten rules of society which i felt compeled me to do and not do certain things. you'd be surprised how many of them i've broken up to now. and yet, at 27 i still think i got a long way to go.Originally Posted by Bionicgoat

That's a cool name for a pet. Not too cliche like other pets' names.Originally Posted by mustachio
Actually I think it's great that it's the name of your dog.
When Daniel was 18 he got his intials tattooed on his arm (what the hell, is he going to forget who he is?) Typical young ESTp vanity I guess

great! i'll tell Shaun you guys really like his name...

I get a kick out of people who name their pets with human names. Someone I know named their cat Gary. It's hilarous.
Lmao... Gary...hahahahahahahahahaahahaOriginally Posted by jessica129

same here. I change my mind quite often. Wonder how many tattoos would that take to cover the previous ones.Originally Posted by cracka

I don't really believe in that self-expression BS too much though. I think they're a sign of sex appeal more than anything. Yeah I know it's 'just me'...for some reason they totally turn me on.
Tattoos do not hurt whatsoever. Maybe I can't say anything since i got it on my stomach where there's more fat, but I didn't feel a thing.
Little tatoos are ok but I dont like the look of the bigger ones or especially those that cover the whole of someone back or cover most of peoples arms.
I would never get a tatoo myself.
Oh, and I have a cat called katie human names for pets are great.

I think tattoos are very very ugly and deface the body if that is the word I am looking for. I would not want to ever get one or be with one who had one. Not to offend anyone but that is my feeling.
I wonder if personality type effects how we view tattoos. That has not been discussed.

I don't think so? I have an ISFp friend who would very much wanna get a tattoo. (or tattoos. )Originally Posted by ISFPman
