    Default Am I ENTp?

In this thread http://the16types.no-ip.info/forums/...pic.php?t=8121 it is suggested that I might be ENTp.

Does anyone else see any signs of ENTp in me?

The poll didn't work out. Slacker Mom is ENTp should be option #1. The whole thing is "What type is Slacker Mom".

Can you fix that Expat? I obviously don't make polls very often.

Yeah, I don't see you as ENTp either.

First, you have provided the most thorough and best information about your family, friends, neighbors, and at all times the relationships fit best if you are ENFp. I never saw any reason to doubt it, it just all fits so well.

Second, you welcome external Te in a way that ENTps wouldn't.

Perhaps one could see ENTp from the point of view of spotting dominant , but I never saw anything to suggest your being more likely ENTp than ENFp.

This is similar to when science as magic suggested I was ESTj - - not absurd, but still less likely than the present typing.

I can see the argument for anndelise, but not you, Nicky.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

I get what u mean. There are a few INFps (both from this forum and IRL from my psychology class) who told me that I'm ISFp and it really made me rethink my choice.

    definitely true

It's just the way some people respond to Te. Some welcome it, like Diana, mcnew, and Slacker mom. Some appreciate it and "speak the language", like Expat and Cone. Some get irritated by it, like Gilligan, Kristiina, FDG, and many others to lesser extents.

I mean that, since ENTps' focus is on their own ideas and analysis of their ideas, they are more likely to share with others their own ideas than to try to receive factual input from others. I'm not saying that ENTps are totally closed to such factual input, it's a question of emphasis.

Let's use dichotomies -- ENTps are compliant and construct-creating, ENFps more likely to be obstinate and emotion-creating. Slacker Mom's obstinate + emotion-creating side is visible in that discussion of sex and spinach in Kim's HPV thread. She is very firm in views of things she cares deeply about, yet keeps a light emotional tone.

I don't recall. I know there's more to it than just Te... I think I'm like Kristiina in that I am overly confident in my 6th function (or at least act like I am). I can see how this would be more annoying (especially for an ESTp) than dealing with people who are seemingly pure Te.

You always try to find ad hoc explanation, but the truth is that my reaction to you is completely different to my reaction to Eidos, Smilingeyes, Expat, Cone, and so on. Un-dis-pu-ta-ble.

i don't think asking people on the forum will resolve anything. the way people view discojoe, joy, fdg, etc etc now as opposed to when they first started coming here is so vastly different. even diana is falling prey to it. i don't really think you should take me too seriously either but i wanted to stimulate reflection in you on how you view yourself. i hope that helps

Oh no I'm not upset. I've just never seen any Ti in me and I was wondering if maybe I was just oblivious and other people were seeing it. These things have been known to happen.

I'm aware of that but I really try to be pretty open and honest about myself, including my less nice features. People are studying personalities here and I don't want to confuse or mislead anyone, so I try to be pretty objective and just put the information out there.

But I guess that's what I'm worried about, yeah. I mean, even if I try to be very honest and open, it's still filtered through me. And there might be things it doesn't occur to me to talk about that would change what people see.

i didn't think you were upset slacker mom.

diana i actually disagree about the seeing more facets thing. i think when people "wordize" their personality their conception off themselves tends to drift a lot from how others would characterize them if they were described in terms of their behavior. if you took a guy who drank a 6 pack of beer every day before work and he reads somewhere on an online test the question "do you tend toward substance abuse?" he might be like "oh no, i'm in complete control"/"i'm no drug addict!" and not be aware how others view his behavior (irl). unfortunately there is no real way to remedy this

well i think this can be a good thing too. for example i honestly did begin asking myself why i do not se myself as esfp. or to put it another way why do i see myself as me and how did the people who see themselves as esfp come to see themselves that way? can i make myself see myself that way? what would be the results of this? i think that process has altered me considerably in many ways for the better
