Default "Don't speak unless spoken to" parenting?

Which type(s) are most likely to have that style of parenting? Personally I've never understood those parents.

Too authoritative people. NTR. Perhaps D in DCNH. And E8 or E1.

It's NTR. It's more of a generational thing I think. "Children should be seen and not heard" my nana repeated this a lot, and she was IEI-Ni- and IEI parents are known for their leniency. And she was still pretty lenient despite saying that. It's really just some oudated old fogey thing 2 me.

I do wish kids actually behaved this way.

I lived with my grandparents off and on when I was growing up, and my SLI grandpa parented this way. I don’t think he was an asshole though, just kind of strict and old school.

Maybe the type of parents that just mindlessly do everything they were taught without questioning if it actually makes sense.

I think if someone feels this way then maybe they shouldn't be having kids
Chronic "grass is always greener" syndrome
