I live on the wrong continent.

If Australia is full of ENFps, does that mean that all those people who were deported from Britain for being loiterers, good-for-nothings, and petty criminals were...

Heck, I probably don't want to know.

Theory about the subject of this thread: It all depends on subtype? What do you all think? The overwhelming evidence in favour of this is, I know

-- one IS(T)p. Appears calm and very aloof. Can appear as if he's pissed off, but the main impression is aloofness. Needs to be defrosted, can then be very great fun to be with, very warm, helpful, etc.
-- one I(S)Tp. Appears calm and approachable. Can keep in the background and hardly say anything at all, without ever smiling, and automatically people tend to like him and ask him for his opinion.

lol @ my old posts. eek

I used to get told it on a near daily basis but I think I'm becoming more approachable for some reason. People normally tell me 1) they think i'm upset 2) I make them nervous 3) they thought i was mean. I've overhead the 'snob' comments many times behind my back. I doubt the guys get this as the SLI personality seems to be the "typical" male personality. I can laugh it off now whereas before it really made me self conscious. If they're anyone worth knowing, they'll get to know you and not make snap judgements like that.

    Default ISTP here

Do not try to approach them directly the first time you get in contact. Instead, try to talk to other people in front of them. We ENFp tend to have a very developed sense of humor and try to be nice with everyone. The ISTp will notice it readly and will start to be interested and since he doesn't feel the pressure to open up, he will have plenty of time for the "introvert" stuff.

After a few times of observing you in secret, the ISTp will probably develop a sense of trust for you. So it's the time to start making stuble signals of interest in them.

For example, my favourite way is to laugh at a joke made by someone else and turn to look the ISTp face with the smile. Do it a few times and the ISTp will feel overwhelmed... "hey, he's looking at me!". In the very deep, ISTp feel invisible to most people, as if no one really cares about them.

Once you see their faces change (because you will notice if you are truly an ENFp), the contact is entablished. A good deal in communication between the ISTp and the ENFp is done with gestures and not words.

However, to ensure that your interest in the ISTp is obvious, you might want to do something else: ask them about their opinion when you are discussing something with someone else. The ISTp also feels amused when someone considers their opinion important. Also, it's an excellent way to ask for their name and other personal details, for example.

P.S. If you want to know where to find ISTp, just try to pay attention to all people around you and not only the ones your are interested in. We miss most of them (ISTp) because we tend to ignore people who doesn't respond to us readly.
You are right with what you said. You ENFPs are quite sharp. I can recall quite a few ENFPs who show some signals that they have somehow seen through us... I will be keeping an eye for other probable ENFPs out there. I think I need to thank you for this observation. It's quite effective for the types who prefer discretion in communicating. For those who don't prefer discretion (or can't read through the signs), this can be some sort of information that you might want to consider when it comes to the ISTP description. I can approve that this is true from my experience. §§§

Mea was typing as ENFp at the time this thread was made. Eunice as INFj was her mirror type. (The other type within your quadra that shares your club ie NF, SF, ST and NT is your mirror)
