    Default The Goldfinch (film)

    Has anyone seen this movie?

I haven't read the novel, so I'm gonna type the characters as they appeared to me in the film. If you would like to contrast the characters from the film with those in the novel, feel free! Please specifiy if you are typing from the novel or movie, or both, though, thanks!

    Theo Decker (young) - LSI
    Theo Decker (adult) - SLE
    Boris - EIE
    Pippa - IEI
    Larry - IEE
    Xandra - LSE
    Hobie - LIE
    Mrs. Barbour - IEI
    Platt - LSE

    Kitsey - ?
    Mr. Barbour - ?
    Mr. Silver - ?
    Lucius Reeve - ILI ?
Theo's mother - not enough character development to say in my opinion, she appears briefly
    Welty- ?

I've read the novel and seen the movie. I thought the movie was boring and I greatly prefer the novel instead, so I'm going to type the characters based primarily off the book.

    Theo: IEI

    Andy Barbour: LII/ILI
Kitsey Barbour: IEI (or at least some Fe-ego type)
    Platt Barbour: SLE

    Boris: SEE

    Theo's father: EIE/SLE
    Xandra: SLE/EIE
    Beta activator couple

Hobie: LSE>LIE. He's a bit of a 'craftsman' with how we works with antiques, which makes me think valued Si.
Pippa: SEI. Similar to Theo, but she doesn't like intensity.

There's not enough information on the rest of the characters for me to really type them with any certainty.

Movie and novel seem very similar to me, plot and character wise. But, yeah, it was a great book and they just don’t always translate to movies that well. Not that I didn’t think the movie was good, which I thought it was, but the book was even better, yes!

    problem is I haven’t read/seen it in a while

but it seemed to be full of se/Ni valuers

    Theo- Beta St yes
Borris- could see either EIE or SEE (reminds me a bit of an EiE forum member! (Guess who!) lol)
    kitsey- IEI
    mrs. Barbour iei

I’m not sure so much about others, will have to watch again or think some more

I think I see who you are referring to.

    Kitsey may have been IEI.

Everyone says the novel is better. I liked the movie, I'd like to read the novel but I still currently haven't finished a bunch of books that are shorter than that.
