Yes, I get that one is "conscious" and the other is "unconscious," but what exactly does that mean? Are we completely unaware of vital track processing? How do I know which IMEs are conscious for me and which are not?

This is how I would look at at....
Ego is 'strong' and valued.... you are aware that you are good at this stuff
Id is 'strong' and unvalued, you're good at this stuff.....maybe you are not aware of how good are.....you don't really care about this stuff though....... you just take care of it, as and when you need to.....
Super id is 'weak' and valued, you're not as naturally good at this stuff.....you are not aware of how good or bad you are at this stuff
Super ego is 'weak' and unvalued, you are aware that you are not good at this stuff, and you might get some luck with improving your Role, but your are likely to continuously struggle with your Polr
Theoretically ofc....
You just need to get around the bias of typing yourself..... which is why a lot of ppl ask other ppl to type them..... but the other ppl can get it wrong too, so don't worry about getting it right straight away...
The problem is that you might overestimate your super Id, so that could confuse your typing of yourself.....
Especially your mobilising (HA) which is why HA can be referred to as pathetic.... You're not aware of its strength, and might overestimate it.....
Or you might have actually improved it a bit....
People might also use their demonstrative a fair bit, and that could seem like it is valued too.... the ego should generally be the focus though.....
Well, I'm "aware" that I'm not productive and that i never finish things because I constantly get distracted. My inability to commit to things such as a work-out routine or trying to actively get better at something (like chess) is my most fervent point of self-criticism. However I'm diagnosed with ADHD so idk if this just due to my disorder or inherent in my personality, and I could see it as either.
This could be distraction by preferred ego information, or is it other ppl distracting you?
Again, it could be distraction by preferred ego information, pointing towards these things not being related to your ego functions.....
Though, its not always obvious on the surface, what things are related to what IEs, as there could be different aspects of the things that are related to different IEs...
E.g you want to work out..... This could be related to SI.... though I'm not fully aware of all the intricacies of SI, it could be related to how you feel in a bodily sense.....?
working out might be to look/be impressive from an SE POV, in terms of force/staus/power
you might work out in terms of being productive from a TE POV, so that you have more energy to get stuff done....
maybe in terms of how other ppl see you from an FI relational POV.....?
Maybe you have been suggested to work out, for one reason or another?
Have you just got more important things to do, which are out of your control? or do you not have enough energy for you to want to get started on your workout routine?
Also maybe there are different possible reasons for you wanting to get good at chess?
The reason I want to work out is to a) be healthy now and in the future b) look good (I don't want to be a skinny noodle). However, no one suggested it to me and I do it out of my own initiative. I want to be good at chess because I find it fun and I have a perfectionistic streak so I criticise myself if I'm not good at my hobbies. This is also the reason I want to be "productive" - what's the point in doing something if I can't do it well? It makes me feel inferior if I'm "not good" at something. The criticism definitely doesn't come from me, though. If anything, others criticise me for being too perfectionistic with myself.
Of course, terms such as "good" and "bad" are relative, I just want to have a certain degree of expertise in things I do. Sadly, it always seems ever so slightly out of reach.
So I wouldn't attribute perfectionism to anything socionics related, from what I have seen.... and I'm sure that you'll find people that have excelled to the top of their field, from every sociotype, due to their perfectionism....
Working out to increase size, and not be a "skinny noodle" (not laughing at you, but I did laugh at this description) .... It could suggest doing this from an SE perspective, but you wouldn't be able to tell where the SE is in your stack from this..... health, I think is too much of a universal thing.... that is mentioned so much in society that it shouldn't be attributed to type really....
If you have a type thread, maybe ppl can help with that, otherwise maybe just hang around here and pick up info, and compare yourself to others, and you may get a better indication of your strengths and weaknesses... A lot of things can be NTR or can be attributed to multiple IEs, so you might not pinpoint your type straight away, but you should be able to narrow it down as you go along....
Well I posted my answers to one of the questionnaires here: https://www.the16types.info/vbulleti...ian-explosion)
Maybe it's too wordy but perhaps that will reveal more about my thought process. I intend to fill out the "hotel ambush" questionnaire sometime in the near future as well.
