Default Is my Hair Wavy or Curly

With my hair it really confuses me what hair type I have. My dermatlogisit told me I have curly hair but my hair stylist told me I have wavy hair. Here is my hair picture to show. Please let me know what exact type is my hair.

First 3 pics suggest wavy hair, last 2 point towards curly, if you haven't brushed your hair in first 3 photos of yours, then wavy, if you brushed it, I am so sorry to say this but your condition is ambiguous.

It looks wavy to me, but your hair texture can change day to day, especially if it’s in between wavy and curly.

wtf this isn't curly at all, this is like my hair. Wavy-ish.
The Barnum or Forer effect is the tendency for people to judge that general, universally valid statements about personality are actually specific descriptions of their own personalities. A "universally valid" statement is one that is true of everyone—or, more likely, nearly everyone. It is not known why people tend to make such misjudgments, but the effect has been experimentally reproduced.

The psychologist Paul Meehl named this fallacy "the P.T. Barnum effect" because Barnum built his circus and dime museum on the principle of having something for everyone. It is also called "the Forer effect" after its discoverer, the psychologist Bertram R. Forer, who modestly dubbed it "the fallacy of personal validation".

This is your only post on here and you chose to ask about your hair. I think you made an alternate account to post pictures of yourself so that they wouldn't be linked to your real account.

Curly hair has tocurl around itself, like a spring. It can be a bit more loose, but it loses 'curly status' pretty quickly if it doesn't look like an elongated coil anymore.

There is wavy and then there are different types of curls. If you let your hair get longer it might be curls, the sections of hair have to decend to form curls, as it is for many curly headed people. Loose curl, is curly. But proof is in longer locks.

Also when you wet your hair thoroughly, don't comb it, just tousel it, does it curl more ... that is the only way to see curl if you brush or comb your hair.

Curly hair needs to be treated nicely for curls to be happy. --> no brushing, only combing while conditioning in the shower.

Is there something wrong with doing that?

I'm no expert, but I wouldn't call those curls. My brother's got even curlier hair than that, and stylists have called his wavy before. Yours is definitely wavy as far as I understand it

it looks like it can both easily turn into curls and also be straightened out

i remember that most people who find out they have curly hair in those makeover videos use products to get there

Your hair is in the 2B-2C range, but it's difficult to tell because you have either brushed it or used your hands.

So for now, I'd classify it as wavy, not curly.

This image will show you what the different hair types are.

As far as I'm concerned, if you haven't styled your hair to be "wavy", wavy is just a fancy way of saying curly.

It's definitely wavy. A stylist would know better than a dermatologist about that anyway. Dermatologists study skin, not hair. He might know about your actual scalp or something but not the hair itself.

Perhaps it's a little curly but not really enough to call it curly. Just like I'm a little straight, but not enough to call me straight.
