    Default California's recall election candidates

Please take a moment to browse the candidates in California's recall election voter guide (link to website, pdf, skip to pg. 11).

I listed a few of my favorite statements below.

Dan Kapelovitz (GREEN): Can you dig it?
Denis Lucey (NO PARTY PREFERENCE): As a teacher I took an oath to uphold the United States Constitution. A distraught kindergartener crying told me, “I love my mommy, I love my daddy, why can’t I love them equally by living half of the time with each?” My teary eyed student wanted a 50 50 Child Custody arrangement prescribed in the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause, I respect California’s students.
Adam Papagan (NO PARTY PREFERENCE): Love U
John R. Drake (DEMOCRATIC): John is a recent community college graduate with a degree in Political Science. His continuing educational focus is Government and Policy-Making
Note: John Drake is selling "submissive and breedable" campaign tshirts here.

Daniel Mercuri (REPUBLICAN): As a father, Jesus is my foundation. As a veteran, I still honor my oath. As a business owner, I believe we are a community not a profit margin. As a patriot, I will fight to starve the government feed the people.
    Who would you vote for?

Seriously, if I had to vote for one, I'd vote for Lucey, based on your post.

Democrats chose not to run a strong candidate in the election because they didn’t want to give voters a reason to vote “no” on the ballot. If a simple majority vote “yes”, then Newsom is out. He cannot run as his own replacement.

I'm not familiar with most of these people, and I'm not a Californian, but this candidate unironically seems like one of the best ones running.

I'm really hesitant about people who call themselves "socialists," and even worse who associate themselves with a "socialist party," but beyond the fact that he’s unelectable Dennis Richter seems surprisingly decent from his campaign website. @Poptart, do you know much about him? I'm curious to hear your impression of him.

Most of the rest seem quite awful. I pity your state.

Thats a no from me dawg. Living in California doesn’t make me a socialist lol.

I considered voting for the leading Democrat, but I just couldn’t vote for a 29 y.o. youtuber whose campaign promises include “starting a daily vlog”.

Ftr I voted no on the recall. For the replacement, I voted for this guy https://majorsinghforgovernor.com/. He has no chance of winning lol.

    I don’t vote. I hate politics

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

The Submissive and Breedable thing made me laugh and I liked it. Because I'm a pervert. Shoot me. It's always annoyed me that politicians have to hide their sexuality in order to be liked or have to pretend that they don't have sexual urges in order to keep up this fake illusion of being 'more powerful' - so I like what he's doing.

I mean their real raw sexuality of course. Their piggish dark animalistic sexy selves. Not PC identity labels that are squeaky clean and sterile etc and mean nothing.

Not saying i'd vote for him- I don't know all their policies and I'm too lazy to look them up. I agree with Kamala Harris about some things like gay rights etc but the actual nitty gritty of her policies I think takes away my freedoms more than it gives me them. I mean who I actually want it's all in the Te fine print not Fe Charisma crap because the Te fine print is how society is really run behind all the smoke and mirrors of course lol. What they actually sign into Law and want to put on that document means everything no matter all the two-faced bullshit they say.

I don't concern myself with shit-hole countries' politics.

Also, politicians literally selling meme merch is peak late-stage democracy.
The Barnum or Forer effect is the tendency for people to judge that general, universally valid statements about personality are actually specific descriptions of their own personalities. A "universally valid" statement is one that is true of everyone—or, more likely, nearly everyone. It is not known why people tend to make such misjudgments, but the effect has been experimentally reproduced.

The psychologist Paul Meehl named this fallacy "the P.T. Barnum effect" because Barnum built his circus and dime museum on the principle of having something for everyone. It is also called "the Forer effect" after its discoverer, the psychologist Bertram R. Forer, who modestly dubbed it "the fallacy of personal validation".

Mark my words, memes are going to be viewed as a serious political advertisement in the coming future. Hell, even Justin Trudeau was meme’d into office. It’s cause he “had great hair~“ this was back in 2016 too. I mean, his father was the greatest prime minister in Canadian history, but I still remember that commercial. That commercial was done by our conservative leaders trying to defame him too lol. If you’re curious, it is most likely on YouTube somewhere. It’s getting fun here, we’re going into another federal election and this will be the first time I’m going to be voting on Canadian soil.

Anyways, much luck with California! Hope you get what you need!

The submissive and breedable thing made me laugh too. Also, I find his candidate statement endearing since it reminds me of my first resume. Lol

Yes, and 2003 was a shit show too. We had a porn star, a dog, and the terminator running in the same election. California’s recall process needs revision. To be fair, Schwarzenegger was a decent governor, even if I didn’t agree with all of his politics.

Remember, any mention of voter fraud is considered insurrection.

Ya know, I used to think that living in the Midwest sucked because of the whole Rust Belt and tornado thing, but honestly looking at California makes me feel like I was actually born in a safe place.

    More from Angelyne’s platform:

    XVIII. DECRIMINALIZE SEX WORK
    A. Angelyne is all for the decriminalization of sex work.
    B. Her only apprehension is that it shall not be as exciting.
    C. Something that’s forbidden has a temptation with it.

This sounds exactly like the thinking of an ESI whom I know.

I like that she’s apprehensive about it becoming less exciting. It’s like she doesn’t want to diminish the value of the work.
