Default Why I Am So Practical: The Value of the Se-Function

The Se Function, or Extroverted Sensing, is one of the eight cognitive functions in socionics. It is the dominant function of the SLE and SEE types, and the creative function of the LSI and ESI types. The Se Function is responsible for perceiving and influencing the physical and tangible aspects of the external world, such as action, movement, force, and power.
In this chapter, I will explain why I am so practical, and why I value the Se Function. Here are some of the reasons:

    • The Se Function is a form of realism and adaptability. It sees the world as it is, not as it should be or could be. It accepts the facts and the circumstances, and adapts to them accordingly. The Se Function does not waste time and energy on illusions and fantasies, but focuses on the present.
    • The Se Function is a form of action and achievement. It does not hesitate or procrastinate, but acts and reacts swiftly and decisively. It does not fear or avoid risks, but embraces and exploits them. The Se Function does not settle or compromise, but strives and succeeds.
    • The Se Function is a form of power and influence. It does not follow or obey, but leads and commands. It does not depend or rely, but controls and dominates. The Se-Function does not conform or submit, but challenges and changes.
    • The Se Function is a form of pleasure and enjoyment. It does not deny or suppress, but expresses and experiences. It does not limit or restrain, but explores and expands. The Se Function does not suffer or endure, but lives and thrives.

Therefore, the Se Function is a source of strength and confidence, and a catalyst for growth and progress. It is a way of living and being, and a mode of thinking and feeling. The Se Function is the function of the practical, the function of the value.

    Some famous examples:

He was a fearless and adventurous warrior, who led his army from the front and never shied away from a challenge. Marie Antoinette was a lavish and extravagant queen, who ruled over France during a turbulent and revolutionary period of history. She was a fashionable and influential trendsetter, who spent enormous amounts of money on clothes, jewels, parties, and palaces. He was the leader of the Chicago Outfit, a criminal organization that dominated the illegal alcohol trade during the Prohibition era. He was also involved in other rackets, such as gambling, prostitution, and extortion. He was known for his charisma, ruthlessness, and lavish lifestyle. He was also feared for his violence and corruption, which earned him the nickname “Scarface” and the title of “Public Enemy No. 1”.

Pablo Escobar was a powerful and notorious drug lord, who controlled the Colombian cocaine trade in the 1980s. He was a cunning and ruthless businessman, who built a vast and lucrative empire through smuggling, bribery, and violence. Overvalued in socionics. Se people can blabber all they want but they are still just human beings and not necessarily the strongest or brightest. Also very attached to the object in a jungian sense, so they completely depend on it.
Yes in developing countries where you require violence for every human interaction, it's a really useful function.

Se kills with a sword, Te types invent gunpowder and kill in one shot all the Se hordes.
