    Default Bill Murray

what type does the actor Bill Murray VI as? I think he has great expressions. Always sly and mocking with a sense of agitation(usually referred to as 'gamma vibes'). ESFp.

    quotes:

In Japan, you have no idea what they are saying, and they can't help you either. Nothing makes any sense. They're very polite, but you feel like a joke is being played on you the entire time you're there.

But I can only take so much TV, because there is so much advice. I find people will preach about virtually anything - your diet, how to live your life, how to improve your golf. The lot. I have always had a thing against the Mister Know-It-Alls.

Awards are meaningless to me, and I have nothing but disdain for anyone who actively campaigns to get one. ... I feel that if you really want an Oscar, you're in trouble. It's like wanting to be married - you'll take anybody. If you want the Oscar really badly, it becomes a naked desire and ambition. It becomes very unattractive.

I think if you can take care of yourself, and then maybe try to take care of someone else, that's sort of how you're supposed to live. There's only so many people that can (do that), and the rest of the people, they're useful in terms of compost for the whole planet.

Whenever I think of the high salaries we are paid as film actors, I think it is for the travel, the time away, and any trouble you get into through being well known. It's not for the acting, that's for sure.

One of my gripes about movies is that people take them so seriously, and the moneymaking aspects are so brutal.

I have developed a kind of different style over the years. I hate trying to re-create a tone or a pitch. Saying, "I want to make it sound like I made it sound the last time"? That's insane, because the last time doesn't exist. It's only this time. And everything is going to be different this time. There's only now. And I don't think a director, as often as not, knows what is going to play funny anyway. As often as not, the right one is the one that they're surprised by, so I don't think that they have the right tone in their head. And I think that good actors always-or if you're being good, anyway-you're making it better than the script. That's your job.

There are people who drove me crazy, but they got the job done. And when I see that person again, I nod my head. Respect.

And I don't like to work. I only like working when I'm working.

People say I'm difficult and sometimes that's a badge of honor. ... I'm a nut, but not just a nut.

I know how to be sour. I know that taste.

I think midlife crisis is just a point where people's careers have reached some plateau and they have to reflect on their personal relationships.

You know the theory of cell irritability?. If you take an amoeba cell and poke it a thousand times, it will change and then re-form into its original shape. And then, the thousandth time you poke this amoeba, the cell will completely collapse and become nothing. That's kind of what it's like being famous. People say hi, how are you doing, and after the thousandth time, you just get angry; you really pop.

No one really wants to admit they are lonely, and it is never really addressed very much between friends and family. But I have felt lonely many times in my life. ...While I have felt lonely many times in my life, the oddest feeling of all was after my mother, Lucille, died. My father had already died, but I always had some attachment to our big family while she was alive. It seems strange to say now that I felt so lonely, yet I did.

We're born alone. We do need each other. It's lonely to really effectively live your life, and anyone you can get help from or give help to; that's part of your obligation.

ENFp. I can't recogize the ESFp type, but he has many strongly Ne+Fi visual cues. Also, there is something EP about him.

I think he's a from a quadra with Fi as a value based on his relation with Hunter S. Thompson-- In HST's book Hell's Angels he mentions Bill Murray's interview with the angels and how at first Bill thought the angels was okay but eventually they treated him like animals and he wanted to get back to civility and 'upright moral citizens,' so to speak. I think decency and Fi are linked. This doesn't mean HST isn't gamma/delta, he definitely is. But he was willing to subject himself to wild things in this particular study of human nature.

Also, how could he be an Fe type-- everything about him seems incredibly unpleasant.

i tend to think of that as IXTp, really, like that anthropologist guy i asked for a v.i. on. i don't think and decency as always linked though, although typically i would say so!

well, he doesn't seem unpleasant. he reminds me also (this sounds totally contradictory to what i just said, i know) of an ex of mine who i figure was a very sensory subtype ESFp. i think people here have v.i.'ed him as ENTp/ENFj, but that seems incredibly unlikely.

    IEI - INFp Lyricist Romanticist

He feels like he belongs in my Quadra. Instinctively from everything I've seen of him, including interviews, talk shows, on SNL and in movies he is NF in my opinion. He's also depressive and serious, which kind of conflicts and makes him look more democratic than he maybe is.

http://Generally theatrical atmosphere, but with periodic moments of "dead seriousness."

I know a couple (or more) IEIs from long term social gatherings with other Betas and I can see a creative version of this being exactly like Bill Murray. The Fi is the last instinct and it comes out in some of his movie characters as another side of him. His real Fe is shown in when he is himself in talk shows. He also plays out a kind of tension between Fi/Fe in his movies.

    Update: Ne-ILE 9w1 sp/sx

IEE is another likely contender, but from his quotes and interviews Murray seems to maneuver around Te whenever possible while showing some reluctant awareness and having some handle of it, which sounds like Te is his demonstrative function.

Hm could be IEE. I want to say 369 tritype. Don’t know about subtype but maybe not D. Those 369s have this rambly way of talking and also can be quite animated in their facial expressions.

I see him as SEI, but I can also understand why people type him ESFp.

Male SEIs are very versatile, its a broad category.

    Last on the right.

Think about what Murray "does". the everyday good guy, ethical, who makes everyone feel at ease using humour. Plus GroundHog day is like ISFp idea of hell. Forever reliving the same days experiences for the rest of their life.

I think Murray's physical size is confusing people and this is why they think of him as Se...., he's a very tall and heavy man, and people think of Dumas as kind of jolly short Dwarves.

Well I was initially looking at videos of Andrew Scott (sei?) and then moved on to Bill. I wouldn’t rule out SEI for Bill, but I think he might just be an extra sweet SEE. Other SEE things about him: He has a bit of an edge to his humour, he seems like he doesn’t quite know where his thoughts are going, like he's exploring as he goes in an EP way, he’s modest..When an sei is modest I don’t always believe in their modesty lol. SEEs can seem more genuinely modest.

Andrew Scott: Possible SEI. It's slightly easier for me to type Brits..still I'm not sure though.
