Peter, I like you, but this is a real stretch. Sorry.
Carbon and oxygen are completely different elements from iron. Carbon and oxygen aren't even metals (see here for the distinction between metal and non-metal in the periodic table). Graphene is an unconventional non-metal in that it has some "metallic" properties, like being a good semi-conductor, which is what makes it such an interesting and useful molecule. But even that doesn't make it analogous to iron, which is a full conductor.
