Why Was Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic SO AWESOME?!

In the anime, Professor Ivy was the first character to possess the GS Ball. She called upon the help of Professor Oak to study it, but couldn't figure out how to open it. Ivy tried to open it with hacksaws, hammers, crowbars, power drills and lasers, but to no avail. At one point, Ash tried simply calling a Pokémon to be released, but this did not work. The ball also couldn't be transmitted via PC.


In Pallet Party Panic, Professor Oak tasked Ash with retrieving the GS Ball from Professor Ivy's laboratory, located on Valencia Island in the Orange Archipelago, and bringing it back to Oak for him to study.


Ash obtained it two episodes later, in Poké Ball Peril, and updated Oak on his progress. He put off completing the errand in the next episode so he could compete in the Orange League, a move which Oak approved.


In Fit To Be Tide, Misty scolded her Psyduck for bouncing it up and down on its head.


In A Way Off Day Off, Ash compared it to a standard Poké Ball while everyone else was sleeping.


After a brief mention by Misty in The Underground Round Up, Ash finally gave Oak the GS Ball after returning to Pallet Town in A Tent Situation, but Oak put it away to examine later. The GS Ball was then last sucked in by Team Rocket's Super Sucker. When the trio's balloon was torn, the GS Ball was rescued with all the other Poké Balls.


In The Rivalry Revival, Oak's studies on the ball proved to be extremely difficult, with Tracey even admitting that no new information was gathered. Oak gave it back to Ash, asking him to deliver the GS Ball to Kurt of Azalea Town in Johto, a Poké Ball researcher and manufacturer.


In Once in a Blue Moon, Ash took the Ball out to polish it when it is stolen by a Quagsire. Ash, Misty, and Brock chased after the Quagsire before getting the Ball back by the end of the episode.


In A Shadow of a Drought, the trio arrived in Azalea Town, and Misty reminded Ash about the errand. The delivery was made in Going Apricorn!, and Ash broke the news to Oak in A Farfetch'd Tale. Its last appearance was in a flashback in No Big Woop!.


In an interview with Masamitsu Hidaka in 2008, it was explained that the GS Ball was originally going to contain a Celebi that was to be the star of a large arc of the Johto saga. However, it was decided that Celebi would be the star of the fourth movie, so the story arc was viewed as redundant and shelved. The ball was left with Kurt with the hopes that viewers would eventually forget about it.


For every episode of Pokémon: Johto League Champions, three GS Balls are seen alongside the title card and the name of the episode. Each Ball is situated on a corner of the title card; there are two GS Balls on the two bottom corners and one on the top right corner.

A large shrine is present on the southern cliffs of Shamouti, overlooking Fire, Ice, and Lightning Islands, and is where the "Chosen One" is supposed to place the three treasures. Stone structures are set up around the altar in which the treasures are placed, and hibiscus flowers grow all around. A talking Slowking makes his residence here.

Ash and his friends realize the Kabuto is a costume made by Bill, who has been stuck in a Pokémon suit for hours, and help him out of it. Bill explains that there are more than 150 known Pokémon species, but there is only one Pokémon he is searching for, which he claims is the largest Pokémon ever. He says it is unique and that no one had ever laid eyes on it. He takes the trio up to the observation deck to overlook the ocean. He reveals that he heard a strange noise coming across the ocean from the Pokémon one night, but that was the last time he heard it. As Bill is reminiscing, the same sound is suddenly heard, and a giant Dragonite appears, rising from the ocean. As it comes closer to the lighthouse, Team Rocket spots it and initially admires its beautifully haunting sound. Then, they begin launching a barrage of missiles to try to catch it. This angers Dragonite, and it smashes the top of the lighthouse and sends Team Rocket flying with its tail. Bill calls out for it, but to no avail, and the Pokémon simply walks away.

Riley has had a great six weeks. He is making amazing progress in all areas. His reading skills continue to grow!

Riley is making steady progress academically. He is a good student who appears to be a "deep thinker." The only area for Riley to work on for the coming six weeks is completing his work in a more timely manner.

Riley has adjusted nicely to Kindergarten. He is anxious to please and though it takes him a bit longer to complete his work sometimes, he is progressing nicely.


I am very pleased with Riley's progress this first grading period. He is a pleasure to work with and teach. He's like a sponge - he absorbs every bit of knowledge he can!
Riley is doing great in first grade. He is well above grade level in reading. Riley works with Mrs. Lindermuth in Jr. Great Books - an enrichment program. Riley also works with Mrs. Lindermuth in Accelerated Math. He's doing fantastic!
Riley continues to make good progress. In addition to Jr. Great Books and Accelerated Math, Riley will be starting Accelerated Reading within the next week or so. Riley has also been reading chapter books and will begin doing book reports this next grading period.
Riley has done well this grading period. He has begun accelerated reader and is doing well with his quizzes. Riley has also done well with the geography we've learned. (He's been very helpful to the other students.)
As we have discussed before, Riley has gone a few steps backwards in regards to his skills of listening and following directions. He still has problems sometimes with completing his work. He'll have times when by Friday, he is completing work from Monday - Thursday. We both know though that Riley is very capable and showed he completed his work on time.

Pokémon is a video game franchise owned by Nintendo and developed by Game Freak that made it's first release on the Game Boy and has turned into one of the most successful video-game media franchises by Nintendo. The series involves creatures of different types and elements fighting each other in a rock-paper-scissors-like fashion with the player trying to catch and train them. It became one of the world's most recognizable fads and it was popular enough to spawn an anime, toys, many movies, and a manga. It's the second best selling video game franchise, only surpassed by Mario Bros, and the highest-grossing media franchise of all time.


Power of the Verse
This series has cosmic Legendaries such as Arceus who created the Pokémon Multiverse and Giratina who is a Multiversal to Multiversal+ anti-matter manipulator, along with Dialga and Palkia, who have control over time and space respectively. The series also has the Weather Trio, who are responsible for shaping the main planet setting of the series. It consists of Groudon, who creates continents, Kyogre, who expands the sea, and Rayquaza, who is superior to both and ends the conflict between the two Pokémon. The Legendaries in this verse in general are usually very powerful either in terms of raw power such as Regigigas being able to tow continents or hax such as Xerneas being able to grant and control life and Hoopa's manipulation of hyperspace. Quite a few Legendary Pokémon are planet busters as well. Many Pokémon, both Legendary and non-Legendary, are capable of using hax techniques in forms of moves, usually in form of Ghost and Psychic Types, and abilities such as intensifying gravity (Gravity) and attacking with mirages (Night Shade). Overall, it is a pretty powerful franchise.


Star Wars


Star Wars takes place "in a galaxy far, far, away" which is trapped in the iron grip of the Emperor of the Galactic Empire, Sheev Palpatine. The series opens with Palpatine's enforcer, the feared Darth Vader, boarding Tantive IV, the personal starship of Princess Leia Organa, the princess of Alderaan. Before being arrested by Vader and Imperial Forces, Organa uploads the plans of the Death Star superweapon being constructed in secret as well as a holographic plea to Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi to R2-D2, an astromech droid once belonging to famed Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker. After evading Vader's grasp, R2-D2 and his companion, the translator droid C-3PO, land on Tatooine, where the plans and the message fall into the hands of Luke Skywalker, a young moisture farmer living with his aunt and uncle. This fateful event would soon drag Luke into a conflict that will define the fate of the galaxy.


Decades before the rise of the Galactic Empire existed the Galactic Republic, a representative democracy that spanned the whole of the galaxy and had representatives from nearly every inhabited world. During this time, the Jedi Order, an organization of peacekeepers who sought to preserve balance in the Force and harmony across the galaxy, was forced to step into the ensuing civil war between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems as the latter attempted to secede from Republic control. The "Separatists" were backed by the Sith, the Jedi Order's counterparts who wished to utilize the Force as a means of gaining power and control. With the Republic's forces outnumbered by the Separatists' ever-growing army of droids, the Jedi and the Republic turned to creating an army of clones to bolster their ranks. Hence the times became known as the Clone Wars, in which conflict, corruption, and war raged across the galaxy, eventually leading to the fall of both the Republic and the Jedi Order as well as the advent of the Empire.


Since Disney's acquisition of the franchise, Star Wars has been split into two separate continuities. The current "Canon" consists of the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the third trilogy that began with the release of The Force Awakens, and supporting materials and spin-offs released since ownership changed hands. All other comics, novels, video games, and other materials released before the series' acquisition as part of the "Star Wars Extended Universe" (frequently abbreviated as EU) have been designated as part of the "Legends" continuity. These materials include (but are not limited to) The New Jedi Order novels and comics, the Legacy comics, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and The Thrawn Trilogy.


Power of the Verse
Disney Continuity
In the current "Canon", also referred to as the "Disney Canon", even Jedi Younglings who have just begun their Jedi training have showcased Large Building level to City Block level telekinetic feats. Force sensitives on the level of well trained Jedi Padawans and fully fledged Jedi Knights have showcased casual City Block level feats, with their highest showings reaching Town level+ or higher. Fully fledged Jedi Masters, Sith acolytes, and Sith Lords have showcased up to Large Town level feats, with the more powerful ones such as Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Ahsoka Tano and Obi-Wan Kenobi scaling to a feat at Mountain level. The most powerful Force users Yoda, Darth Sidious and Mace Windu have showings in the Island level range. Virtually all notable Force adept possess Subsonic running speed with Force augmentation as well as Massively Hypersonic to Massively Hypersonic+ combat speeds and reactions that are augmented by precognition.


The most powerful characters in the continuity, The Ones of Mortis, are vastly above any normal Force adept and can potentially destroy the galaxy if they were ever to come to blows.


The Disney continuity is decently powerful in terms of technology. Soldiers and bounty hunters have access to hand-held weapons ranging from Small Building level pistols to Large Building level+ heavy weaponry. They also have access to body armour with similar range of tiers of durability (Small Building level to Large Building level+).


Ground vehicles range from simple scout vehicles with Building level to Large Building level+ firepower and durability to monstrous main battle tanks which can not only dish out Town level+ to Large Mountain level+ firepower but also take Town level+ firepower. Spaceships in the verse range from several metre long starfighters packing Small Town level laser cannons and Mountain level bombs/missiles to city sized capital ships packing weaponry which can melt large cities, cause extremely violent earthquakes, even life-wipe planets and reduce the crust to molten slag. The verse also boasts of impressive FTL travel technology called “hyperdrives”. The highest rated hyperdrives allow for traversing distances of tens of thousands of light-years in just several hours. The most powerful vessels in the Canon so far are the superweapon equipped battle stations which boast of Large Planet level to Large Star level firepower.


Star Wars has a ridiculous line-up of megafauna and exotic creatures that are quite dangerous and powerful themselves. They range from Small Building level to Large Building level+ land & aquatic animals, to Town level+ and even Large Mountain level+ space-faring creatures. There are also Sith warbeasts who range from Small Building level attack dogs to gigantic dragons that can unleash violent earthquakes that can devastate cities. The Canon comics have also introduced moon-sized creatures who can casually rip apart the entire crust of a planet.


Legends Continuity
More often the focus is on Force-User characters, specifically those who are Jedi or Sith. With broken abilities such as high level telepathy capable of dominating entire planetary populations, draining worlds, extremely fine level precision use of telekinesis as well as other esoteric powers, Force-Users are formidable opponents.


An upper-mid tier Jedi Master such as Obi-Wan Kenobi at his prime has no difficulty moving and reacting when augmented by the Force and his own perceptions, performing reactionary feats and attack speeds against entire armies to pull off up to mach 4000-16,000 speeds and move his lightsaber so fast it appears like he created a literal spherical force field around himself.


Even weaker Jedi Knights precognition works beyond their own understanding and can adapt against lightspeed attacks.


This is thanks to a bevy line-up of ridiculously powerful telepaths, beings who can wipe out entire worlds, technology great enough to manufacture planet razing self-adapting and evolving city size automated factories to small starships capable of wiping out entire star systems, and beings who have mastered technology and mystical powers like the Celestials who have seemingly become omniscient and went onto a higher realm or plane of existence.


Lord of the Rings


The Lord of the Rings, also known as the Legendarium, is both an epic fantasy trilogy and colloquial name for the franchise as a whole that was created by J.R.R Tolkien, which includes said trilogy, a prequel, and a wide number of resources, compendiums, side-stories and addendums, as well as several other related stories within its main canon. Among these are The Silmarillion, The Unfinished Tales, the Tale of Beren and Lúthien, a Tolkien Bestiary, etc. These works could collectively be referred to as the Tolkienverse, although "Lord of the Rings," is by far more commonly used. The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies were both made into cartoon adaptations and two separate trilogies, the latter two being adapted by Peter Jackson. People often use the movie versions of the characters in debates, despite the fact that the novels are the original canon. Many video games spin-offs also exist, as well as a comic book adaption of the Hobbit.


Lord of the Rings takes place in the land of Middle-Earth, where there are humans and non-human races, such as elves, dwarves, hobbits, trolls, orcs, goblins, etc. The plot focuses around returning the One Ring to Mount Doom to destroy it before the Dark Lord Sauron reclaims it. LoTR is considered to be one of the defining works of modern fantasy, and helped inspire other fantasy worlds like Dungeons and Dragons, Final Fantasy, Sword of Truth, Warcraft, Warhammer Fantasy (which led to Warhammer 40,000), Wheel of Time, etc.

While the majority of the main cast are considered peak human at best, many of them are very skilled warriors, such as Aragorn (Who intimidated servants of Sauron), and Beren (Who cut a Silmaril from the Crown of Morgoth, the name given to a weakened Melkor).


However, the Ainur (Angelic beings) are far above them and are considered to be extremely powerful, immortal, non-corporeal beings, including the Maiar (Lesser powers, equivalent to angels) and the Valar (Greater beings, equivalent to pantheonic gods).


Their power seems to be greatly limited in their corporeal forms, but varies from the likes of the Balrogs (Lesser beings, even among the Maiar), who can damage large mountains at the least, and characters such as Varda, who lifted all the stars into the sky. Melkor, in his abstract form, was able to change the entire song that created the universe. There are also the Elves, the strongest of which can challenge Maiar and even weakened Valar, in their corporeal forms, like Fingolfin, who could challenge Morgoth.


Notable Elves include Galadriel, who destroyed a fortress made by Sauron (A Maia) and could hold of the Nazgul with her ring (Nenya); Feanor, who created the Silmirals, powerful artifacts containing part of the power of the Two Trees, the same power that fueled the light-devouring demon Ungoliant to the point where she beat Morgoth; Lúthien, who could put both Morgoth and Carcharoth to sleep, and weaken an enraged Sauron, who was, at the time the strongest Maia; and the aforementioned Fingolfin, who survived three blows from Morgoth and permanently crippled him.


Lord of the Rings also has many monsters, most notably the dragons, that can sometimes grow strong enough to defeat Balrogs. The most famous of these is Smaug, who overpowered two cities in a day, yet he is far weaker than the likes of Ancalagon, who was the size of a small country, or Glaurung, who could destroy a man's mind with his gaze alone.


Speed-wise, the majority of the verse is around Supersonic+ to High Hypersonic via scaling from the Balrogs, though the Valar have a Massively FTL+ attack speed feat, given that Varda, the queen of the Valar, lifted all the stars into the sky. In addition, Eonwe also has similar reactions for helping fight Morgoth, the greatest of the Valar. Lord of the Rings' speed tops out at Immeasurable, with the Ainur's true forms transcending linear time, and existing in the Timeless Halls, a place implied to exist beyond "the principles of matter, space and time". This is not to be confused with a place outside of time, like a timeless void, rather it is beyond time, or the basic time of a normal, 4-D universe, and is best likened to a higher temporal dimension, one of the requirements of Immeasurable speed.


The verse's hax is unimpressive for the most part, though it does have transmutation. The Ainur are also intangible and non-corporeal in their spirit forms. The majority of the verse's hax comes from the Ainur's true forms, which are intangible and non-corporeal, and have some decent reality warping/conceptual manipulation in that they created the physical laws of the universe and transcend it.


The highest power of the verse is delivered by the Ainur's true forms, with the lesser Maiar being considered High Universal for being lesser versions of the Valar and creating minor universal concepts, and the Valar just barely breaking into tier 2 at likely Low 2-C via scaling from Melkor. He is at least Low 2-C for affecting the entirety of the Anulindale, the music that created the universe. Though, since he also "spoiled" two other songs before he was stopped, he has a good chance of being 2-C. He also created the concept of discord.


Eru is the absolute god-tier of the verse, though his exact capabilities are unknown. What is known is that he vastly transcends the Ainur, who even Manwe, the second strongest of them, views as all-powerful. He is the source of all concepts and controls them, with the Ainur only being tools for making the world.


There are also many forms of magic in the series, though they are generally only alluded to, and not directly defined, being seen as more of a secret of an art than in most contemporary fictions. This magic is more often showed in artifacts like the aforementioned Silmirals or the palantiri(The seeing stones).


The Elder Scrolls


The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (2002) - The third game of the main series, featuring a long-awaited return to the expansive and non-linear gameplay of Arena and Daggerfall, but also showing a change to a much smaller, hand-crafted game world with individually designed landscapes. Morrowind was also when the Elder Scrolls setting was truly shaped into what it is today, thanks to greatly expanded lore and a refined, more distinct setting.


Morrowind's story is set in the island of Vvardenfell during the waning years of the Third Era. The player character - a Prisoner in the Imperial City dungeons - is released and sent to the island by the aging Emperor Uriel VII himself so that they may fulfill the ancient Nerevarine prophecy and defeat the mad God Dagoth Ur. Throughout their journey, the player character will succeed in many trials which fulfill the ancient prophecy, and become the reincarnation of Indoril Nerevar. They eventually succeed in stopping Dagoth Ur, and in the process render the three Dunmer Gods of the Tribunal mortal again.


The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2006) - The fourth game of the main series, Oblivion is set in the central province of Cyrodill, and was the first game of the series to feature fully-voiced NPCs with their own dynamic AI. The game's world was much larger than Morrowind's, and the gameplay streamlined and refined, with a greater emphasis on combat.


Oblivion's story begins as Emperor Uriel VII attempts to flee an assassination attempt through Imperial Palace's dungeons, where he meets with the player character - A Prisoner he recognizes from his dreams. As he is dying, Uriel tasks the player with finding his bastard son Martin to continue the Throne and save Tamriel. Their quest as the Daedric armies of Mehrunes Dagon begin to invade Cyrodill. This event forces Martin to accept his destiny as the heir to the Septim Crown, and eventually sacrifice his own life to repair the broken boundaries between Tamriel and Oblivion.


Power of the Verse

The Elder Scrolls is an incredibly powerful universe, easily standing as one of the most powerful video game settings there are due to its expansive cosmology of higher-dimensions and greater infinities, a wide number of powerful deities of cosmic power, and metaphysics which push the setting even further.


Although deceptively unimpressive at first glance due to its apparently medieval setting, various mortal characters of the Elder Scrolls world have shown great feats of magical power. These include defeating large armies single-handedly, manipulating the weather on a wide scale, destroying entire cities and mountains, sinking islands and teleporting entire landmasses. Particularly powerful mortals - such as the oldest and most learned mages - have shown the ability to create and destroy pocket dimensions containing planets and stars, warp space and time, and even rival the power of lesser gods.


The various gods of the Elder Scrolls are incredibly powerful beings, often higher-dimensional and infinite in relation to mortals, and possessing their own planes of infinite size which they have full control over. Even lesser deities such as the Ehlnofey can embody and stabilize the laws of nature across an entire reality, up to and including the flow of time, while greater deities such as Celestials can destroy the entire Multiverse of Mundus with their presence alone.


The Aedric Divines and the Daedric Princes are at first glance the most powerful gods of the setting, ruling over the greatest planes of Mundus and Oblivion respectively, but they are pale shadows of what they once were as the Et'Ada - The Original Spirits. The Et'Ada were originally boundless, non-dual and infinite beings free of all laws, the concepts of space and time, and even when later bound by the creation of Time and Space by Akatosh and Lorkhan, they helped shape and stabilize the entire infinite-dimensional multiverse of the Aurbis.


The most powerful entity in the Elder Scrolls setting is the Amaranth - also known as the Godhead - a transcendent, supreme and boundless entity which exists as one with everything while also originating everything. The whole setting is its dream, and it exists as a state of boundless "zero" which originates all numbers, possibilities and dualism


Final Fantasy


Final Fantasy is a popular series of role playing games produced by Square Enix (originally Square Co., Ltd.).


It may be the most widely distributed game series of all time, including both standard console games and portable games, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game, games for mobile phones, a CGI movie, two anime series, and a direct to DVD movie.


This has many recognizable characters such as Cloud, Sephiroth, Tidus and Squall. The plots often center on a group of heroes battling a great evil while exploring the characters' internal struggles and relationships.


The first installment of the series premiered in Japan in 1987, and Final Fantasy games have subsequently been localized for markets in North America, Europe and Australia, on several modern video game consoles, as well as several different models of mobile phones. It is Square Enix's most successful franchise, having sold over 130 million units worldwide to date.


As of 2016, fifteen games have been released as part of the main (numbered) series, and thirty seven games in total, including spin-offs and sequels, have been released in the franchise.


Power of the Verse
On the whole, Final Fantasy is a fairly powerful collection of isolated universes. Surprisingly, this verse is very powerful, possessing multiple Universal (and higher) beings such as Ultimecia, Neo-Exdeath, Lightning and Cloud of Darkness.


The games in general possess fairly powerful final antagonists, with most of them having at least country level+ stats (minimum) and a decent amount of hax as well.


The higher end of the spectrum ranges from planet level+ to universal characters, a minor few possibly being multiversal.


The protagonists, though weaker than the antagonists, are often capable of contending with the villain of their respective worlds world (some victories requiring more PIS than others).


Most of the different stories within Final Fantasy contain a fair level of speed, ranging from massively hypersonic to faster-than-light at the highest.


Ona final note, the sheer abundance of hax and other abilities can be found displayed in the different verses, such as:


transmutation, time manipulation, teleportation, elemental manipulation, telekinesis, summoning, mind control, illusion creation, intangibility, a wide variety of dimensional manipulation, and immortality .
